  1. We shall see.
  2. Coney Island installed a children's version of Drop Zone this year. It is a small tower with a frog on it that lifts children up (no more than 15 feet) and drops them. However, it raises and drops them several times. Coney Island has Lake Como - hence I'm surprised that they lack a log flume. Additionally, I am quite curious to why Coney Island doesn't already have a swinging ship as they are relatively inexpensive. If Coney Island had one decent coaster, say like Adventure Express, I'm sure that their park attendance would soar. Sincerely, Italian Chef
  3. I stand corrected. Thank you for stating the accurate information as I don't want my confusion (it'll happen to you when you get to be my age) to be a souce of false information. Have a great day, Italian Chef
  4. Today I visited PKI - and hadn't been there in a month! Book signings (which are over thank God), television production (for a Thai restaurant), and other personal obligations kept me busy. PKI was overwhelmingly crowded! I got on The Beast around 11 AM and the lines were relatively short. Within 30 minutes, I rode it twice. However, the crowds soared in population. I waited over 10 minutes for Adventure Express which I usually practically walk on to. I don't know about the rest of you, but for me The Beast is the creme de la creme. It's my # 1 favorite ride at PKI. It gets my adrenilin pumping. Have a groovy day! Sincerely, Italian Chef
  5. The log flume was called Kenton's Cove's Keelboat Canal and it was located in Rivertown. However, the land that the occupied was annexed by Nickelodeon Central and the land was ride was transformed into the Wild Thornberry's River Adventure.
  6. Actually, let me correct both of us. You meant to say 'bye', right? In that case it's 'au revoir'. Khomalro and Khamsahnidah. FusionDude, You're quite the linguist. Keep it up and someday you'll get a great job. Italian Chef
  7. Another thing I miss is park employees that dressed as Star Trek characters. It made PKI seem more like Universal Studios.
  8. I've seen 1-hour long Travel shows on Dollywood, Hershey Park, Busch Gardnes, and many other parks - but never PKI. It does seem unfair. I really would like to make a PKI-Brady Bunch-Partridge Family 2-hour movie. And I'd love to have a small role in the film. Maybe I can play a chef at the park.
  9. The Partridge Family episode is for sale on www.bestbuy.com - and they provide FREE delivery. The name of the tape is STARS IN OUR EYES. As for the Brady Bunch episode, I've never seen it for sale but recorded it off TV on the "TV LAND" cable station.
  10. italianchef replied to StXBomber's topic in KI Polls
Thank you STXBomber. You have my permission to "borrow" the title of my book for these awards. And as both the Italian Chef and Charles Infosino I'd love to give out culinary awards, such as: Eatery with food most likely to make you fart on a ride at PKI. Best New Eatery at PKI. Cleanest eatery at PKI. Least popular eatery at PKI. Best eatery to eat at during a thunder storm. Can I wear my chef uniform to the awards or should I wear my tuxedo? Have a groovy day, Italian Chef a.k.a. Charles Infosino
  11. In 1972 The Partridge Family, a family of touring musicians (on the show not in real life) filmed an episode at Kings Island. Then in 1973 The Brady Bunch filmed an episode at Kings Island. Sometimes the Brady Kings sang songs on the show - including their theme song. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a full feature or TV movie in which the Partridge and Brady families simultaneously meet at PKI? Perhaps there can be a battle of the bands at the TimberWolf Theater between the 2 families and zany adventures on the park's rides and other facilites. Additionally, there can be some romance like between Keith Partridge and Marsha Brady or Danny Partridge and Jan Brady, or both. Just a thought, Italian Chef
  12. The managers of Coney Island had often though about closing the park and re-opening a new park elsewhere because of the infamous floods that destroyed Coney Island several times. Years later in 1968 Fess Parker who played Davt Crocket on TV and a group of investors planned to open a theme park in Northern Kentucky that would have put Coney Island out of business. Then in 1969 the Wachs family (the principal stock holders of Coney Island) sold the park to Taft Broadcasting - under the condition that Gary Wachs would remain as the General Manager of Coney Island. This business deal was made so that Taft and the Wachs (now under their employment) could build a new, better park away from the floods of the Ohio River before Fess Parker and co. could built their park in Northern Kentucky. Therefore Taft Broadcasting bought 1600 acres of land off KINGS Mill to build a theme park to replace Coney ISLAND. Hence we have the name Kings Island. In 1971 Coney Island had what was supposed to be its last season and in 1972 Kings Island premiered. I hope that answers your questions. Sincerley, Italian Chef
  13. Shadow, Why do you envy me? Is it because I married a beautiful Japanese lady or because I lived in Japan for one year and visited MANY Japanese theme parks, temples, shrines, restaurants, castles, and other awesome places? Or both? I think that PKI would benefit from some Japanese flavor. Sincerely, Italian Chef
  14. King George, Thanks for saying my wife is beautiful. She is the most awesome woman I ever met in my life. She sacrificed the riches of Japan to be my wife in the Greater Cincinnati area. Though I can't take her to Tokyo Disney, Ninja Mura Park, Hagashiyama Koen, Little World, Nagashima Spa Land, or any of the other awesome Japanese theme parks........at least I can take her to exciting, romantic, and awesome Paramount's Kings Island. Italian Chef
  15. Mr. DragonLord, There are plenty of water parks that do well without coasters and other dry land rides. However, if a park offers both water rides and roller coasters, I reckon most people will want to try both. Have a groovy day, Italian Chef
  16. Today I interviewed Mr. Jeff Siebert on behalf of The Mason Community Press (I sometimes freelance for them). Plus I'm the author of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. And Jeff and I share ethnic heritage and are the same age. Guess what secret he told me??? I have to wait until after Labor Day just like everyone else to find out what will replace WaterWorks. So let's have some patience and faith in PKI. Amen, The Holy Reverend Brother Doctor Italian Chef
  17. Actually, Chef, hello in french is one word: Bonjour. Sorry Brother. I never studied Francais - just Italian, Spanish, and Japanese. Thanks for correcting me. Cumsamnida, Italian Chef
  18. The French Bakery is still there physically - but the name was changed to The Bakery & Pretzel Shop. And the shop doesn't offer eclairs, croissants, or anything remotely French. Bon Jour, Italian Chef
  19. DragonLord George, Thank you for giving me such a compliment. You're very sweet. Please add the expression, "beautiful" too. Thank you for your cooperation. (Just kidding!!!) Mrs. Chef _______________________________________________ That was typed by my wife. - Italian Chef
  20. Seriously speaking folks, Dragon Lord has met my wife. Mrs. Chef is truly the most awesome woman I ever met in my life. Believe it or not, I'm not the easiest person in the world to put up with. I am grateful for Mrs. Chef and love her even more than I do PKI plus red wine put together. That is more powerful a statement than most folks would understand.
  21. DragonLord, That's a good idea. You and I are locals and park enthusianst (and you are an employee), so we'll go to PKI no matter what. However, your separate water park admission fee would work great for visitors from out of town. It would be quite lucrative. Maybe someday you can work in the marketing department at PKI. I'm serious. You have the potential. Have a groovy day, Italian Chef
  22. Amen Brother Tanner! One of the main perks of water parks is seeing women in skimpy bathing suits. Everytime I go to WaterWorks or The Beach Water Park I enjoy looking at the ladies in sexy bathing suits more than I do riding the water slides. Now, now Charles, you are married!!!! Yes I am married. However, I enjoy looking at the other women to see how sexy they are and to realize that I lucked out to marry the sexiest, sweetest, most beautiful, funniest, kindest, and most awesome woman in the world. So every time I look at another woman (which is every time I leave my home), I am actually appreciating how much more special my wife is. That's the BS I tell her when she catches me looking at other women at the water parks and other places, so I can say the same BS on this site.
  23. I think that both The Beach Water Park and WaterWorks are great water parks and the Greater Cincinnati area is lucky to be blessed with both. It's obvious that I am linked to PKI, but I wish both PKI with its "new" water park next year and The Beach much prosperity and joy. Sincerely, Italian Chef
  24. Amen Brother Tanner! One of the main perks of water parks is seeing women in skimpy bathing suits. Everytime I go to WaterWorks or The Beach Water Park I enjoy looking at the ladies in sexy bathing suits more than I do riding the water slides.
  25. I am a big Scooby Doo fan. I have Scooby Doo video games, clothes, and movies. I think that SDATHC is a great ride. But I would give it up in 2 seconds to have the Phantom Theater back. SDATHC is very child oriented. Phantom Theater reminded me of Phantom of the Opera and Disney's The Haunted Mansion. It has class, it had style, it was original, and I really miss it! Also, I miss the French Bakery. I remember buying an eclair for Mrs. Chef there back in 2000 or 2001. A "French Bakery" was very appropriate for INTERNATIONAL Street. The Pretzel & Fudge Shop doesn't quite fit International Street as well. Also, I miss taking my picture with numerous Hanna-Barbera characters. PKI is still great - but I wish to return some blast from the past. Have a groovy day y'all, Italian Chef
