  1. I'm pretty open. However, Saturday October 11th & Sunday October 12th look especially good to me. And I like to get to the park early - before the gates open. The early birds catch the worms and the early PKI park guests avoid the long lines in the morning for The Beast, FoF, Delirium, etc. I'd be very happy to meet other members of this esteemed site and hang out. Perhaps someday a joint PKIC-PKIU day can occur since many folks like me post on both. I'm a really nice guy who wants to get along with everyone. And when many of you under 21-year olders will someday find out, people are much jollier after their 5th glass of Merlot. *L* However, I never drink alcoholic beverages when I ride roller coasters and other rides as I am super responsible. HAVE A SUPER-AWESOME DAY EVERYONE! Sincerley, Italian Chef :chef:
  2. No worries. I'm sure someone will mention it. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  3. Wow! That's what I call dedication. Not even I would do that. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  4. Here is a very fictional question. What if Viacom wanted to get out of Ohio and took all the rides, employee, etc. out of Mason and moved PKI to a far off state, such as Massachusetts? The land would be used for NON-amusment purposes. Hence the only "amusement" and "water" parks in Greater Cincinnati would be The Beach Water Park and Coney Island. Some of us live in Greater Cincinnati. Other of us live close to CP and SFWOA. My question is that if PKI left Ohio....how would your life change??????? I would be very, very sad if that happened. I do make it a point to visit Coney Island and The Beach Water Park at least once a year because I am a freelance travel writer. W/o PKI.......I'd visit both more often, as well as the Cincinnati Art Musem which would make Mrs. Chef very happy because she is more cultured than me. Plus, I'd make visits to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom an annual event. However.....I'd miss PKI very much and be quite sad. What about the rest of you? Have an outstandingly groovy day! Italian Chef :chef:
  5. The Phantom Theater has been missing for over a year. Personally, I miss it very much and even wrote a fictional story based on it that'll be on this site soon. I have old pictures of it and REALLY miss the Phantom Theater. Yes, I appreciate SDATHC....but both Mrs. Chef and I prefer the Phantom Theater and miss it. How do the rest of you honorable and responsible citizens feel? Sincerely, Italian Chef
  6. One of the reasons I fell madly in love with Paramount's Kings Island is Hanna-Barbera Land and its characters that I grew up with in the 1970s and early 1980s. Therefore, I was greatly disappointed when all but Scooby Doo were banished from the park as of the 2003 season. Yes, I know that Nickelodeon is far more popular than Hanna-Barbera these days, but I love what I love and I intend to expose my (yet-to-be-born) child to as much Hanna-Barbera as possible. What do you think is in store for the future of Hanna-Barbera Land and its characters at PKI and the other Paramount parks? Do you see their days as numbered or just a temporary dip in interest? Please share your valuable opinions. Have a magnificent day! Italian Chef :chef:
  7. Here is a very science fiction question. What if PKI moved from Ohio to a far off state and took all of its rides and attractions with it and the land would NOT be used for amusement? How would it change your life? If PKI disappeared, the nearest major amusement park to me would be Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - 2 hours away. So I'd probably visit it once or twice a year (and I visit PKI at least 3 times/month). Additionally, I'd visit Coney Island and The Beach Water Park more often. And I'd probably visit The Cincinnati Art Museum more often too. Additionally, I'd be very sad. How about the rest of you? If PKI left Ohio and went FAR FAR away, how would your life be changed?
  8. There is no question that PKI, which draws over 3 million guests annually, is the largest tourist attraction on Greater Cincinnati. However, I am curious to which does better, The Beach Water Park or Coney Island. If anyone knows which of the two smaller parks does better and has stats to provide, I would be most appreciative. Have a groovy day! Italian Chef :chef:
  9. When will the show be on? What day and time? I'd like to watch it. On a side note, I always had the fantasy of getting married at PKI, perhaps on stage at the International Showplace. However, my wife and I got married in The Adams Family house and don't have the money to rent PKI to renew our vows. We're too poor. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  10. If it were up to me, Paramount would've maintained the Wild Animal Safari. Had they known that Disney was to someday build the Animal Kingdom Theme Park, maybe they would've thought twice. Either way the wild animal habitat is gone and I can't see Paramount investing the money to return it. And with the Cincinnati Zoo so close, they would have tough competition. However, I am hoping that the new Water Resort will have dolphins. If PKI had dolphins, they can offer the Greater Cincinnati area something that no else, not even the Newport Aquarium, has. Nevetheless, I have a strong feeling that Paramount has no desire to bring live animals to any of its parks. This much I'll say, the new water resort would look much more awesome if there was at least a small aquarium with tropical fish. That's my opinion. Have a groovy day! Italian Chef
  11. I was wondering what other people think about the future of Hanna-Barbera Land and its characters. I am most disappointed that all the Hanna-Barbera Land characters, except for Scooby Doo, were removed. The fact that only Scooby Doo remains makes me think that if Scooby Doo weren't so popular, the whole of Hanna-Barbera Land would be annexed by Nickelodeon Central. Does anyone think that the Hanna-Barbera characters will be returned in the future? Or do you think that Hanna-Barbera Land will shrink as Nickelodeon Central grows? Any thoughts or knowledge would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Italian Chef, Huge Fan of Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
  12. Greetings everyone, Welcome back to PKIUnlimited. I hope that this time we can respect one another enough to prevent future personal attacks. It is vital that we avoid the forum wars that caused these forums to be closed in the first place. I'd like to take the opportunity to tell you why I think we should all support and thank Aaron - and respect his wishes. I am quite proud of my personal accomplishments in terms of my education, writings, travels, television appearances, etc. However, I am 31 years old. Aaron is under 18 years of age. He had the vision, patience, and technical talent to design and create PKIUnlimited - the most popular unofficial PKI page on the Internet. That is quite a feat! Quite frankly folks, I lack the technical aptitude to create a site like this. When I was Aaron's age I could barely use a computer - let alone design a homepage. Not only is Aaron the creator and administrator of this site, but his name and one of his quotes appeared on the front cover of a city newspaper, he is a competent driver, and an outstanding soccer player. When I was Aaron's age my greatest accomplishments were having a girlfriend 3 years older than me, sneaking beer into my bedroom without my parents noticing, and coming in 3rd place in a break dancing contest. I was not a star athlete (though I was admired for my tenacity) and drove so poorly that my driving teacher dreaded my lessons. Aaron has much to brag about for a man his age. As some of you know, next year I will (God willing) become a father. If my child will have Aaron's maturity, wisdom, creativeness, manners, and initiative...I will be a very proud father. I think that for just for one moment we should appreciate all the talent it takes to maintain this site and thank the young man behind it. Additionally, I think that we should respect his wishes, specifically: 1. That we do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT bash each other. 2. We attempt to use proper grammar. Hence, I would like to take the opportunity to publicly thank Aaron for his great efforts into creating and maintaining PKIUnlimited.com. And I think that it would be nice if others can thank him too. Without Aaron, we wouldn't have this site to communicate with one other and learn new and exciting things about Paramount's Kings Island. Sincerely, Italian Chef
  13. Yesterday I heard a rumor about PKI's new water resort from a UN-reliable source. However, I shall ask you nice folks about it anyway. A lady I know, who is a cashier, claims that she knows someone who works at PKI that told her the new water resort would have a Jamaican theme. I have heard nothing of this rumor anywhere else and highly doubt it's true. Has anyone else heard the same rumor? Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  14. Chris, You're human just like me. I've stuck my foot in my mouth more times than I care to admit - and my feet don't taste very good. I can see from your comments that you are a kind person and there are no hard feelings on my part. All I want to post in happy environment - and from what I can see, you are trying to foster one. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef :chef:
  15. PKI has publicly announced they will build a water resort. The question is - whay will it be themed after? Some speculate Australian theming and others Caribbean theming. I really don't know what PKI has in store for us.
  16. First off, I do think that PKIUnlimited will make a comeback and have the utmost respect for Aaron. He is a brilliant young man who deserves great credit for his site and getting his quote on the front cover of a newspaper at such a young age. Therefore, the following statements do NOT apply to Aaron but to SOME of the moderators. 1. Too often a topic would be closed for the reason "we already discussed it FOUR SCORE AND SEVEN YEARS AGO". Okay, I'm being sarcastic, but you get my point. Many times a new person will bring up a topic discussed weeks or months earlier and it was shut because the topic existed before. 2. The moderators didn't make much attempt to reprimand people from making personal attacks on each other. And one or two of them actually made many of these personal attacks towards others - which is why Aaron had to step in and call for a time out. I guess basically, I'd say try to foster an environment in which no one will feel personally bashed because of their opinions or statement. It is very possible to criticize a person's idea (eg. I think PKI should serve chocolate covered ants instead of pizza) without attacking the person directly. This is a tough task. I wish you the best of luck. Have a great day! Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  17. I'd say for starters, reprimand people when they verbally attack others. A says something bad about B. Then B strikes back. Then A strikes back. Then C comes in on As part and D comes in on Bs part. If verbal venom throwers are stopped immediately - the bad blood and insults won't escalate. Additionally, I'd say have some PKI related fictional stories, commentaries, and pictures submitted by park fans. If you find someone with enough time and imagination, perhaps a PKI roll playing game. Just a few thoughts. The site is nice so far. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  18. I am very fond of Delirium. It thrills me almost as much as a roller coaster. It's my favorite non-roller coaster ride at PKI. Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  19. Two years ago I heard a rumor that King Cobra was sold to a theme park in Spain. However, this year I have read may rumors, many times that Kings Cobra was dismantled and its part are stored at PKI. If you want to ride a stand-up roller coaster, the nearest one to PKI is Chang at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville. Chang is billed as "one of the world's tallest, fastest, and longest stand-up roller coasters" in the world. Personally, I prefer sit-down to stand-up roller coasters. However, I think it's worth a "been there, done that" experience. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef :chef:
  20. Thank you Sir! I am most pleased and flattered to see an icon with a chef hat in my honor. Have a great weekend! Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  21. My favorite eatery at PKI is Mandarin Cuisine - even though I love Festhaus and Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack dearly. At Mandarin Cuisine, I get the most for my money in terms of portion size. And I like being able to use chop sticks and feel some international atmosphere in International Street. Though the Chinese food at Mandarin Cuisine isn't as great as its counter-part in Chinatown, NYC (I grew up close to there)....it is quite good! What about the rest of you? What is your favorite eatery at PKI and WHY? Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  22. My favorite roller coaster is The Beast hands down! Of all roller coasters at PKI, it has: 1. The longest ride duration. 2. The most beautiful scenery (of the woods). 3. The nicest smell (of the wooden track). 4. The greatest thrill. And I just love it! Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  23. So far this new PKI fan page looks very nice. I hope that we can all maintain great civility towards one another so that the pki-central.com forums don't degenerate into "FORUM WARS". I wish each and everyone of you a great weekend. PEACE Brothers & Sister! Italian Chef :chef:
  24. Rather than risk breaking the law and getting caught, hurting someone and getting sued, or simply being thrown out of the park........I'd just obey the no pictures on the roller coaster rule. If you want awesome pictures of certain roller coasters, you ought to contact Guest Relations. They may be willing to sell them to you for a nominal fee. Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  25. Yes it was. We should try FoF, The Beast, and Delirium again next month.
