After I finished my last book signing in Ohio Mrs. Chef and I went to PKI. My ribs got bruised a couple of weeks ago, so I have to avoid rides for another week. So we only watched shows. We saw Vibe, Spellbound, and the Tomb Raider Stunt Show. I thought that the Tomb Raider show was more cute than exciting. However, there are very loud noises and I would not bring babies or small children to it.

Did you buy your copy of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island yet? If not, you should. The first page has a quote from Jeffrey Siebert "Mr. Infosino's book is a first of its kind for Paramount's Kings Island. Whether it's their first or twenty-first visit to the park, guests of all ages will find The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island helpful and useful." And the Acknowledgements page states "I would especially like to thank Park Spokesman Jeffrey Siebert, who was my main contact during the more than two years that it took me to write this book. He is a great professional and truly an asset to Paramount's Kings Island." My point is that Mr. Siebert and I know each other and he helped me with my book. As a matter of fact, he was present at my first book signing. Jeffrey is a very kind, intelligent, and ambitious man. And he works very hard. Paramount's Kings Island is truly lucky to have such a dynamic employee as their Marketing Communications Manager. And as author of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island, I was lucky to have such a great professional contact to provide me with the information that I needed. I see Mr. Siebert at the park often and he is always kind to Mrs. Chef, my guests (who are often Japanese people with not so great English skills), and I no matter how busy he is. Jeffrey Siebert is indeed a great professional and a great man. Sincerely, Italian Chef PS - I think that you should buy The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island.

Could it be possible that fans of another theme park north of Mason hacked into the site? Just kidding!

Aaron, Why was pkiunlimited down? Will my column premier soon? Thanks, Italian Chef

The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island has TWO book sigings this weekend and one next weekend. WOW! I can't wait to meet the author. Hey - I am the author! So if any PKI fans can make it, I will be most appreciative. And I also greatly look forward to seeing my PKI articles appear on this site. So far I've submitted two intellectual articles and one fictional story to Aaron for my upcoming column. I plan to write a lot of PKI fiction. Have a great day regardless of whether or not you can make one of my book signings. Blondie, If you can, I will be very grateful. Believe it or not, book signings can be quite intimidating if you fear the patrons of a certain bookstore aren't PKI fans. I hope to meet you this weekend. Have a great day. Sincerely, Italian Chef

Maybe next year, but I won't have enough time to travel to Columbus this year. Sorry. Italian Chef

I think that FoF and the land that is now used for Flight Team would fit well into a Future World.

Have you lost it? Coney Island has been around longer than PKI has. It all honsesty, considering they only have one coaster, the python isn't that bad of a ride, since it is geared towards kids. I would expect to see Coney grow some more in coming years and maybe add another coaster. I love Coney. I never said anything bad about the park, just that that coaster sucks, which, by all accounts, it does. I think Coney is awesome and it would be so cool if it were restored to its old glory. However, I think Kings Island will always dwarf Coney. I agree with with Losing Streak. Coney Island is a great park, but Pepsi Python is NOT the smoothest or most enjoyable roller coaster I ever rode. And it is even smaller than The Beastie. Though I frequent PKI very often, Mrs. Chef & I do visit Coney Island several times a year. It is a beautiful park and worth visiting - but not for the Pepsi Python. I think that the Pepsi Python doesn't do justice to Coney Island and its past glory. I wish for its own sake, Coney Island would get at least one half-way decent roller coaster like Adventure Express. If Coney Island did, they would get many more visitors.

I received an e-mail from The Travel Channel that stated the Travel Channel Secrets show, which I participated in last month, won't air until this Fall or early next year. If they don't know yet.....there's no way any of us lay folk would know.
-
You might be correct. I tried e-mailing the administrator of pkiguide.com tonight and I got an "undeliverable" message back.

You are lucky you experienced short lines. I suffered from VERY LONG lines on Friday, got drenched in the rain, and even sustained a minor injury on Friday, July 4th. Don't panick. The injury was caused by my wife slipping on White Water Canyon and ramming my ribs into the side of the boat. Until this afternoon, I felt pain. Had I been holding on to the hand bar, instead of waving my hands in the air....it would NOT have happened. Hey almost no matter what....I love PKI. Sincerely, Italian Chef

Greetings PKI fan, Aaron and I have been planning to launch a column for me for over one month now. I am anxiously awaiting its beginning and Aaron assures me it'll be in one week. My column will be totally UN-related to my book. It'll feature comparisons, commentary, and lots of PKI-related fiction. The first column that'll come out will compare PKI to Walt Disney World. The second, which needs a bit of editing, is a FICTIONAL story inspired by the Phantom Theater with nearly all of its characters. The third will probably be an article that compares PKi to Universal Studios. My articles will follow that basis. I have an idea about making a FICTIONAL story based on Adventure Express. And now I am working on a LONG (like 20-30 pages or more) science fiction story that'll involve myself, PKI, and black monoliths from beyond. This story, which I'm working on now and will take me weeks to finish, was partially inspired by Arthur C. Clarke's 2010. Should anyone have any ideas for PKI fiction (or factual articles that won't conflict with my book), please PM them to me and I'll gladly work on them. Sincerely, Italian Chef

Hey folks, I know there are many of you like me who get on this page and pkiguide.com. I've noticed it's been down the last 2 days. I have a funny idea and I wonder if any of you share it. How about if the administrators of pkiunlimited.com and pkiguide.com pool their resources and talents together to make one awesome PKI fan homepage instead of 2 separate ones? Just an idea. Italian Chef

Thank you. I much appreciate your in interest in The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island.

Sorry, I can't help you there. However, should Paramounts Parks ever sell Kings Island to me, I'll do my best to make it unique. I'll make them an offer tomorrow. Does anyone think they'll accept $500 for the park?

http://www.orangefrazer.com/Merchant2/merc...ory_Code=TRAVEL The book costs $10.99 and it is a guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. It lists the history of the park, directions to the park, lodging and dining outside the park, fees, and other pertinent information. Additionally, it lists and describes every ride, eatery, retail shop, show, and attraction in the park. Each ride's technical details are listed and my personal reviews are provided. You can buy the book: 1. At Paramount's Kings Island's retail shops. 2. Bookstores in Ohio, Kentucky, & Indiana (Walden Books, Barnes & Nobles, Borders, etc.) 3. www.amazon.com 4. www.orangefrazer.com Have a great day! Italian Chef

I'm sorry that you feel that way. The cloning of rides/shows/ attractions is not unique to Paramounts Parks. Virtually all theme park operators do the same thing including: Disney Universal Studios Sea World Six Flags That's why you'll be able to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Magic Kingdom (Florida), Disneyland (California), Tokyo Disneyland (Japan), and Euro Disney (France).

Both book signings are scheduled to last 2 hours. If I get a good turnout, I'll stay 1/2 hour or more longer.

Are you saying they did have the show and I left for no reason?

I was disappointed about the cancelation of Nights of Fire - not angry. PKI's management staff made the right decision to cancel - as I would have done the same thing. I was disappointed by the weather NOT PKI's prudent decision. My wife and I got together with another couple who were hanging out with us at the park after we left and enjoyed some wine. The rain may have canceled Night of Fire, but it didn't cancel night of Robert Mondavi Moscato - a great dessert wine, as well as a couple of other vintages. Sure, I wish the weather would've been good....but that won't change history. At least no one, to my knowledge, was severly hurt. Italian Chef

I got to the park before 10 AM with Mrs. Chef. Our MAIN goal was to witness Nights of Fire and since we didn't want to deal with drunk drivers....we rented a hotel room. The park was jam packed. I had to wait for a long time on almost every ride. But hey....it's July 4th, I expected as much. And with all the money PKI lost this year with bad weather...I was happy for them though I despise long lines. We rode Delirium, The Beast, and White Water Canyon twice in a row before lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack. For those of you who are seafood eaters, Mrs. Chef states that the shrimp are good, but the salmon is better. After lunch we rode a few more rides and then left the park to check into our hotel and have dinner. We went back to the park which was more crowded than I ever recall seeing in my life. Around 9 PM a speaker announced that Nights of Fire was canceled because of the storm - and it was raining and soon thundered. Hence, we walked to our car as fast as possible. We were stuck in the parking lot for almost an hour. Well, it's not PKI's fault about the weather - which they surely lost money because of it. They can't influence it anymore than I can. The Weather Channel predicted good weather. It was just one of those rotten things that happen. Either way... I still had fun (expcet for the rain and parking lot) and love PKI. I just hope that the next time I try to attend a fireworks show at PKI the weather will be better. Italian Chef
