  1. ^If that includes Mr. Rawlins the reporter then I am singing right along with you.
  2. First off, the coaster is inside. It will run around a new complex that is in the construction stage, and pretty darn close to done. (I hope) It is a fairly large place, the attached document is a basic layout, and to give you an idea on how big it is: #4 the arena holds about 5,000 to 8,000 depending on arrangement of stands. (They originally said 10,000 to 12,000 but I say no way.) The First Star center down town holds about 10,000 to 13,000 I think, so that will give you an idea on how big the structure that the coaster is in is. The coasters path is the purple line in the diagram, that is only where the coaster will be, not the actual track lay out. The video at the beginning of the thread, was the concept video and by no accounts represents what the coaster will be like when it is done. The pictures are not late at all, after all we had Louis to listen to while we waited!! They are wonderful by the way.
  4. I think we should start picking this thread apart and clear things up so we all can breath a sigh of relief. (I can't believe that it is 12:40 and no one picked up on this.)

I hope so, I'm getting tired of reading.....kidding you know....It sounds like you had a great time, I have been wanting to go see the WWII museum and it sounds like I am in for a treat. The Sparta Parade must have been a great note to end on and a lot of fun to be part of. I have not been down there since before the hurricane, but I am planning for this fall to see friends. There is only one thing I can finish with....
  6. New picks are up. No water dummies, just plastic covers. http://www.kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/gallery/
  7. Actually it was 16 2/3, most commonly known as the Highway Hi-Fi. What would we do without Chrysler?
  8. You bring up a good point CoastersRZ, and with that we get back on topic. How you ask? Well I will tell you. When I was a youngin, I would go to Coney Island with my family to ride roller coasters and many other types of rides. I would also see entertainment like Frank Sinatra, (who was a regular at the Beverly Hills Super Club) and many other top stars. The technology used to listen to music back then to today can be compared to roller coasters. I will break it down for you. Shooting Star = 78 (Old record Like the Frank song) Teddy Bear = 45 (small record still so much fun) Beast = LP or 33 & 1/3 (very pure sound and very classical) Galaxi-Bavarian Beetle = 8 track (I will just say......oh never mind, but it was fun.) Scooby Doo-Beastie-Fairly Odd Coaster= Plastic 45 from cereal box Racer = Cassette tape (good portable and fun) Vortex = DAT (Digital Audio Tape, highest quality from magnetic tape) Diamondback = 100% pure digital The trains will back me up on this one, so slick looking and cutting edge.
  9. Well he loves Frank, but hates the show, so I will post this one and tell him to take a look at the thread. (Oh and no it is not Al.) yeah I'll keep going!!
  10. Fixed, got a client on the mind named Bundy. (It figures, the one time I try to stop the insanity of correction mania I carry it on to the next page. I should have went to bed when I had the chance.)
  11. Punctuation (Monroe, who is a little tired of the Mrs. Grundy lessons when Interp is not around, but is poking fun any ways.)
  12. The Grand Carousel is always first on opening day for the family, and the last ride every visit after that. What I dearly miss is the organ, the 1918 Wurlitzer Duplex #165. I used to have a link that had an audio play list of the #165 roll, but I am not at home and I can not find it on this pc. http://www.wurlitzer-rolls.com/appendix.html (Very interesting appendix.)
  13. Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun.......Red is a hard color to keep up, but darn it looked good on The Racer. As for Flight Deck? I would say Silver track and Navy Blue with a tint of steel Blue on the supports. After all it is based on the Navy. (Even though the billboard had an F-15 on it, the U.S. Navy did not have F-15's on carriers.) As for Vortex? I would say purple/blue supports with orange track, I really like the orange, it gives your pictures a punch.
  14. ^^It all depends, the trains on SOB presently are made by Gerstlauer. http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/ They also make other types of trains, and rides. If you are refering to the original trains on Beast, they are still on but modified by removing one row. They are Philadelphia Toboggan trains. http://www.philadelphiatoboggancoastersinc.com/
  15. I can only think of one thing: Oh Yesssssssss.
  16. I swear it was here when I posted that...It has since disappeared. So I'll post it again, sorry if I'm just blind and missed it. Thanks, That is what I thought you were talking about but I could not find it. Oh by the way: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9195514873030790137 And I think that is Firebird by Igor Stravinsky, or Suggestion Diabolique by Sergei Prokofiev. Not sure my Drum Corps is a little rusty, I will ask my friend and see. (Yes my friend did say that it is Firebird. I remember horns pitched in G with a valve and roater, now every thing is in Bflat.)
  17. What video are you watching? I do not hear any music in the video that was posted on the first page.
  18. Terpy is a ghost on line, a figment of your imagination if you will. Or you could think of him as an anonymous donor of important information.
  19. That was a really fun corkscrew ride and I will miss it, lots of turns and a tight corkscrew. The most important part of that article was this paragraph: "The proceeds of the sale are being donated to Merlin's Magic Wand children's charity to help pay for holidays for seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged youngsters." Alton Tower's lives up to their good name again. (Although I think they can use a little wood, but I will not hold that against them.)
  20. Tumble Bug, my mothers favorite too. There certainly is no comparison to any other memory that I have of any thing else in this world, than a ride on the Tumble Bug with my mother.
  21. That's who you remind me of, the candle stick in Beauty and The Beast. Always there with a wise cra.......I mean, very helpful information and insight.
  22. ^Yes but very much worth it. Last visit, (May of last year) I spent about $250 on 4 people, that is/was less that 200 euro. very good deal considering what you get, food, view, and some very friendly people. (Waiter was American attending school, but he did not tell us until the check was due.)
  23. Ah yes but the food is not rickety..... http://www.lejulesverne-paris.com/ Now I am hungry.
  24. For the most part, yes. It held a refreshment stand both in the front as you enter and in the middle turnstiles. But that was back when you could get a nacho or two dogs and a large drink for the same price of a large drink today.

I would tend to think they are designed around the engineering crowd and then the out of town enthusiast, kind of like what GA has. It is amazing what you learn when you put theory to work and are able to see it.
