Whats the tallest roller coaster youve ridden
^And that brings us to the true definition: What ever the manufacture promotes it as is what it is. That is why sites like RCDB.com have such varying definitions from other sites. In other words there is no true definition of any of them, only what the manufacture says it is. By the way mine is Kingda Ka.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
I saw it running from Granden Rd. about 4 miles away, HA. (Monroe who is in damage control mode because his daughter saw it from the same location and decided she is too scared to ride it now. I hope posting this will change her mind.)

Eiffel construction photos
There are not too many pictures out showing the construction, to be honest, KI was not that well publicized during construction. It wasn't until it was almost ready that adds and news organizations started to show up. I know they are out there, and I might have some. I will run my punch cards and see if they are stored on them. (Any one up for a game of binary?)

Purple People Bridge: Do You Care?
No bad at all, I just did not want any one to jump you about it. On a side note, I really hope they do it right from the get go. The original street cars in Cinci had a two wire over head system that was not compatible with northern KY over the suspension bridge. The trolleys from Kentucky had to raise a ground pole to run. Here is another article I found that has some good pictures. http://www.cincinnati-transit.net/suspension.html

Purple People Bridge: Do You Care?
^Just to clarify Gordon, the street car system was finished, it was the subway that was not finished. This is an ok site, not the best but has some good pictures. http://www.old-picture.com/american-histor...Street-Cars.htm http://www.davesrailpix.com/csr/csr.htm

Test Dummy Ready for First Ride on Diamondback
This isn't a TTD car? I thought you said that they were moving TTD here? At least that is what they have been saying on KICentral.com. (Boddah1994, that is what I was referring too with the first one I did.)

Ohio: Some Old Carousels Are Still Entertaining Young and Old
I have two sites that fit this, the first is a document on the Wurlitzer band organ. How they work and the different models, KI has a Wurlitzer #165: http://www.wurlitzer-rolls.com/appendix.html This second site is for the Herschell Carrousel Factory in Buffalo NY. They still make them by hand and have 2 carousels that you can ride, one from 1916. Lots of fun. http://www.carrouselmuseum.org/index.html

..I too, but on Rutschebanen at Tivoli Gardens Denmark. The cable snapped, and I actually helped with many others, to push the train up the hill.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
^ It starts out as an auh darn, and ends with a shower to get rid of all the sweet and dirt....usually it is a crane to remove the cars, or a pulley system that pulls it to the top of the next hill. If the train is loaded, the people are removed first. It tends to vary on the situation.

What do you think KI will bring back for the 2009 season?

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Except that the valley on Behemoth occurred in warm weather, after several weeks of testing and only a few days prior to media day. So no, it would no be like that at all. Behemoth was not intentionally saddled, they were testing minimum operational speed and it did not make the circuit. So yes it was just like Interp. said.

Boy I hope they have shrimp, I like shrimp........

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
It's not the make up of the wheels that is the issue, it is the bearings in the hub that matter more. Behemoth may have made it the first run but it did valley during testing. I am not saying that it WILL valley, but rather: I would not be surprised if it did not clear the second hill, it should and I would expect it to, but it will be slow.

I think the Weasley family had too many peppers for dinner, but If they think it was a gas leak then so be it.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Don't expect too much on the first try, cool weather, new wheels means slow train. I would not be surprised if it did not clear the second hill, it should and I would expect it to, but it will be slow.
