  1. It's not like your just shooting down other people's ideas or anything. I mean, everyone is entitled their own opinion, right? You seem very confident that its gonna be a b and m invert, which I have nothing against that idea, as I love their coasters and someday hope to work for them, but unless you have proof that its an invert, I think there's still a good chance it could be a giga, which would be awesome.Mer, just pointin' out. I never said Kings Island's new ride was a B&M inverted coaster. Show me where I said that. This is why I don't think it's an Intamin coaster: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27275-starting-to-decode-2014/?p=524912 Here's Intimidator 305's track support footings, notice how square the holes are compared to the track support footings of a B&M's and Kings Island's attraction? Goliath (B&M hyper) footings: Our footings are more like Goliath's than I-305's.
  2. You're so set on this Intamin giga coaster, aren't you? What makes you think it won't be a B&M coaster? Please enlighten us.
  3. Dinosaurs Alive! was announced to the public in March of 2011, Firehawk was in February of 2007, and I believe Nickelodeon Universe was roughly mid-September of 2005. With the addition of the scarecrows, I think that Friday the 13th would be the perfect date to do a simple press release for the new attraction. That's why I said most of the time, not all the time. Maybe I should've said some of the time. Anyways, those attractions you mentioned, the park didn't make a big media deal out of those announcements like they did with Diamondback. If this ride is going to be a major installation, the park would want to have the media and coaster enthusiasts there for the announcement.
  4. But that's a day the park is closed. Most of the time the Cedar Fair parks usually announce a major attraction on a day they're open like with Diamondback or Gatekeeper.
  5. Omen - a phenomenon that is believed to foretell the future, often signifying the advent of change. What if "Banshee" isn't the name of the ride, but "Omen" is? Kinda puts some of the clues together. Don said they're building for the future, the signs on the wall says evil phenomenon, and crows/ravens are usually associated with omens in folklore. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raven_in_mythology.
  6. I wonder if the reason Cedar Fair dropped the name Banshee in 1996 is because of it already being used by Holiday World. Holiday World's Banshee ride was operating at that time anyways, right? So maybe Cedar Fair wanted to avoid a lawsuit by them, like with Dorney Park changing their impulse coaster from Voodoo to Possessed because Six Flags had Voodoo trademarked for a ride in one of their own parks. So now that Holiday World's Banshee is gone, Cedar Fair can trademark it for their own. But this is just a speculation on my part.
  7. Oh the childhood memories. How I miss them.
  8. You mean this one? It's one of my favorite logos the park has used for a roller coaster.
  9. Hey! Hey! Hey! Whattya know, Boo-Boo.
  10. ^I had posted that earlier in the thread. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27275-starting-to-decode-2014/?p=525433
  11. You got me there. (Eats a Snickers ice cream bar)
  12. I don't think the park wants to be infested with 2 snakes , so I'd rather see The Bat or the Screamin' Demon names be resurrected instead. If they use The Bat name it'll be perfect for a B&M inverted coaster. If they use the Screamin' Demon, use it for a B&M floorless coaster and emphasize the loop for it's logo like on my avatar.
  13. ^^Nothing. That's the armature of the mannequin sticking out. For those who can't see upstop's photos, here are 2 of them for you (if he doesn't mind me doing that):
  14. Kings Island is trying to scare away those meddling kids.
  15. "Right back where we started from"
  16. ^And blows up SCUD missiles. Busch Gardens used a ghost theme for their inverted coaster as well... Alpengeist anyone? If the ride's name is Banshee how about something like this for part of a logo:
  17. Have you actually seen a Banshee? But a Banshee is a ghost and ghosts do fly (mostly in movies and cartoons).
  18. For those new members on here that think this will be an Intamin, let me go back to a post I have on here earlier: Other similar footings for other B&M coaster designs: Talon (inverted) @ Dorney Park: http://www.ridezone.com/rides/coasters/talon/talon20001122/talon20001140-07.jpg Hydra (floorless) @ Dorney Park: http://i.imgur.com/Ygyrc.jpg
  19. My top 2 steel coasters are a B&M (Diamondback) and Intamin (Maverick). I just can't ride their (Intamin) inverts or mega/giga coasters because I'm a big guy.
  20. There are more people that know than just Don. I realized that after I posted it and Beast1979 was kind enough to to tell me.
  21. I just got done correcting myself on that. Thanks, Beast1979!
  22. And you can tell by how? No one on here really knows what type of roller coaster this is. Except for a certain PR director, but he won't tell.
  23. I wonder if some of those footings in the recent pictures could be for lamp posts too, for lighting up the ride and que line.
  24. I hope so, but it's a weird situation. On one hand I want them to build the best ride I've ever ridden, but on the other hand, I don't want to have to wait 6 hours everytime I want to ride it. First world problems. Go during the week.
  25. Thst's it! Couldn't remember. Thanks, Terp!
