  1. Hi and welcome to KIC! It's difficult to say how busy a random Thursday may be at Kings Island, but I'd guess you could ride most rollercoasters in one day. However Kings Island has a lot to offer in terms or rides, shows, foods and environment - all of which are a gem in themselves. It would be difficult to experience all that Kings Island has to offer in one day.
  2. The legendary OSU Marching Band was in town to perform at Kings Island today and Don Helbig was kind enough to send some photos our way: Click Here For More!!!
  3. Assuming that Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend happens over the same weekend in 2010 as it did in 2009, would you rather have the event as a Friday-Saturday event or a Saturday-Sunday event?
  4. It was never stated in the rules that the photo had to be of the Ride Warriors activities. Simply that it must have been an original photo taken at Kings Island during Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend.
  5. Why do you guys gotta be hating Ty? He entered the contest and won fair and square. We should be congratulating him. Good work, Ty!
  6. By BoddaH1994: Just got word from Don saying that his current count is 11.973 on Racer. Do you know ehn he plans on getting to 12,000, seeing as he only needs 27 more? I just talked to Don and he said that he plans on doing his 12,000th ride some time after he completes his 11,999th ride.
  7. The winner of the Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend photo contest will be announced today at 5:30p on Kings Island's official blog the Kings Island Insider.
  8. Is it possible that it hasn't been repaired because they think the music from the Glockenspiel may interfere with the life shows inside?
  9. International St, Rivertown and the Festhaus all house LaRosa's locations within the park. Typically I-Street, for example, is referred to as "International Street LaRosa's" simply because there are more than one LaRosa's locations.
  10. If TheRickster can post again, Americana can open again. My faith has been restored.
  11. For those of you who were watch the History Channel's Life After People series, next week's episode, set to broadcast June 2nd at 10:00p, entitled "Sin City Meltdown" will reportedly feature what would happen to an amusement park without the interference of humans. The teaser for "Sin City Meltdown" featured after tonight's episode showed images of this park and many of them looked strikingly similar to LeSourdsville Lake, although many parks from that era had similar features.
  12. The number of Gold Season Passes sold between May 24th and 30th compared to August 2008 and May 24th is drops in a bucket.
  13. You guys will appreciate this... http://www.local12.com/news/local/story/My..._DQsy8_iXw.cspx
  14. As reported by Kings Island's Twitter, the Gold Season Pass deal has been expanded through May 31st at midnight.
  15. It's still in its early stages of existence.
  16. For those of you who didn't see the signs over the weekend at Kings Island, our friends at the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company are constructing a site dedicated to Ride Warriors not unlike yourselves. Check it out at RideWarriorNation.com.
  17. High-flying thrills were plentiful this past Memorial Day Weekend at Kings Island! We're not talking about Kings Island's new roller coaster Diamondback, but rather the gravity-defying thrills of BMX, skateboarding and freestyle motocross as the ASA Action Sports World Tour made a stop at Kings Island on May 23rd and 24th. The ASA World Tour features the top ranking athletes in BMX, skateboarding and freestyle motocross. This tour stop at Kings Island allowed the athletes to earn valuable ranking points in order to qualify for the championships in their individual sports. BMX and skateboarding took place on a half-pipe that was construction in front of the International Bandstand where hundreds of spectators watched in awe as the these world-class athletes did what to the average person would have thought was impossible as they defied the laws of physics and risked life and limb in order to please the crowd and the judges alike. The true crowd-pleaser for the day was the freestyle motocross. Thousands packed International Street to see the team of Brian Foster, Jimmie McGuire and Dustin Nowak launch nearly 50 feet in the air - spinning the bike, doing back flips, thrusting their bodies into a horizontal position or even completely loosing contact with the bike itself -- only to scramble to return to a sitting position and safely land on the return ramp. If you missed this one, you missed a very special weekend at Kings Island, however you can see KICentral's official photos of the event by clicking here. Kings Island's newest show, Don't Stop The Music will make its debut on Monday, May 24th on the International Bandstand. This all-new music revue will feature some of the latest top charters by Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kid Rock and more! Check it out on the International Bandstand at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30! If you thought Spring was good then Summer can only be great! Both Kings Island and Boomerang Bay are now open daily and season passes are still available! 18. All of the issues you listed are very serious to Kings Island. I recommend calling Kings Island's call center at 1-800-288-0808 and tell them about your experience. By doing that, a log will be made of your call. Each call is handed by the proper channels and the park will follow up on how to resolve the issues. Ryan
  19. Just got word from Don saying that his current count is 11.973 on Racer.
  20. He's told me his ride count. He's somewhere in the 11,800s range, I think. A little shy of 12,000.
  21. Right inside the gate, immediately in front of the front gate/International Restaurant. They were beginning to set up the fencing when I was there but they hadn't started constructing the ramps.
  22. The motocross jump will run parallel to the front gate. I'm especially excited about that.
  23. Don and I had some fun today going through old photos of Kings Island and we came across this photo that may have forever changed the course of history. Don Helbig's 10,000th Racer ride - July 27th, 1990 It was a simpler time... it was a better time...
  24. I made the trek up to Kings Island earlier today to check out the construction of the apparatus for the ASA World Tour. The ASA World Tour will visit Kings Island this Memorial Day Weekend and will feature some of the world's top athletes in BMX vert, skateboarding and motocross. Final touches are being put on the half-pipe, which will house the BMX vert and skateboarding competitions. The half pipe looks intimidating to say the least. In less than 48 hours from this writing, the top BMX and skateboard stars from the ASA World Tour will risk life and limb to earn valuable ranking points. The half pipe will be located on International Street between the International Bandstand and the Eiffel Tower. BMX Rider Simon Tabron takes a practice run. BMX vert rider Simon Tabron takes a practice run Thursday at Kings Island in preparation for the ASA Action Sports World Tour stop May 23 and May 24 at the Mason, Ohio amusement park. The two-day event features the world’s top pros in BMX and Skateboard vert and Freestyle Motocross and is included free with park admission. Photo credit - Don Helbig ASA athletes Simon Tabron (BMX) and Danny Mayer (skateboarding) are not only the top athletes in their respective sports, but they also have an incredible fashion sense! Make sure you're at Kings Island this Memorial Day weekend to check out this incredible event. It's going to be fun, it's going to be exhilarating, and most importantly it's going to be FREE with park admission!
