Put KIC for the club name. I'd just go ahead and put your real name on the registration form. -
Last one I remember was that Lost Temple ride that wasn't all that great.

That's kind of the beauty of the attraction -- they can throw in a new video and a new program and it's like a whole new ride.

(emphasis added) That's the part that bothers me, although I'm glad to see there is a "Son of Beast Discussion Thread". The fact is, the line between an opinion of someone on the board and information that could be considered "misleading, inaccurate, or possibly damaging" is a fine line, if not a gray one. Should I only post my opinion if it glorifies Cedar Fair, Kings Island, or KIC? Where Else? Post whatever opinion you want, but make sure that it's stated as your opinion rather than stated as fact. But it doesn't really matter, because the media will twist some things to get a good story. Like turn an opinion into "fact." I don't disagree with you in the least. It's such a same for the media though. They have such a responsibility...

Thanks for keeping this thread on topic and mature, guys and gals. And Klockster - hilarious photoshop.

what happened to the post about discount tickets?
BoddaH1994 replied to coaster queen's topic in Kings Island
Exactly. Please refrain from posting links to corporate partner sites. The ticketing information on them is not for the general public. -
The other thread was closed for a reason. More false claims, more potential damage to both KIC and the park. The article is still there for anyone to read, along with the Dept of Agriculture reports within the article. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18969

Observations of an American Poet In Paris While on Trial in Miami
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Trip Reports
I'm pretty certainly I saw the green ones during Ride Warriors Weekend. -
Don't be fooled. It's a Kings Island PTR. I went to Kings Island with Evan Millward aka the E-Man, aka The Fuzz, aka the Diamondback Namer. It was my first time there in a few weeks because of a pretty hectic schedule. I cam across some things that nobody seemed to have posted about, but I'm guessing they were added in the past month or so because I had never noticed them before. The E-Man Park was a little crowded, so we mainly went show hopping. It was pretty cool to see the shows advertised in the scrolling signs. These haven't been there all season, have they? I took a picture of this because everyone else seems to in their PTRs. It looks like it gets more full as time goes on. I wonder if they'll add a second one if it comes down to it. I saw a post about Guitar Hero on Kings Island's Twitter. I had assumed it was referring to the arcade version found around the park. Looks like they got rid of Simon Sez in favor of a much more popular setup. They had a couple of big screens with lights and disco balls. Very cool. Looks like they finally put the walk of fame inductees into the Tower Gardens. Still baffles me that we're to the point where someone can come out with a CD with modest success, host a forgotten show on MTV, appear in spoof moves that are a dime a dozen and then resort to selling instructional strip tease videos and still be respected enough to be immortalized. When did the Kings Island Inn Resort's bus go all Partridge Family on us? ...and that's my story.

Second year running - County Line is still the best show at Kings Island. However, I do also have to give a hat tilt to Marty's Party. What a great show.

I think it's park policy that they do not go on man hunts for lost items during operating hours. I've seen members of the Diamondback crew walking around with flashlights looking for items after close at night, so I think there was some sort of miscommunication there. Lesson learned: secure all loose articles or they'll end up in the big plastic box with all of the other cell phones, flip flops, season passes, etc.

It's now often that I get pleasantly surprised, but here it goes... I was at the park yesterday and we decided to eat at Rivertown Junction. I was kind of apathetic to the idea since my attitude toward the place was a "take it or leave it" one. Upon entering the building, the cashier asked me for my season pass. Thinking it was kind of strange, I gave it to her. The buffet, which was normally $16.99 rang up as $14.44 which is a savings of 15%. Apparently that's a running deal for season pass and platinum pass holders. Walking into the place, everything was different -- the food, the people and the look. At the beginning of the year, many of the room dividers were removed which gave it an open-air feel to it. This was certainly a step in the right direction but it was lacking a lot of personality. Since then, a lot of photographs, art work and plant shrubbery has been added to the building to give it a much "hommier" feel. I do want to apologize for the photos in this post, they were taken verbatim with my cell phone. Right after opening day, I recall Avatar making a post about Rivertown Junction. He said what a lot of us were thinking -- that the changes to the building were nice, but ultimately it was just the same old song and dance that Wings offered. I spoke to a foods department associate to complement their great work with the restaurant and he told me that they recognized that big changes needed to be made and they began to implement them right after the 4th of July. Inside you will find a much bigger selection of food. Everything from the LaRosa's pasta to a salad bar, to a taco bar, to fruits and vegetables to carved beef that is carved right in front of you. The associates were very adamant about replacing food that had been sitting too long and keeping the assortment available to the guests. Believe it or not, it was actually one of the best kept buffets I had ever eaten. Look in the middle of the photo above. Are those plates? One of the biggest complaints I had heard on KIC about Rivertown Junction was the less-than-user-friendly use of Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. Gone are the days of breaking your plastic fork in your mashed potatoes as they have been replaced by ceramic plates and silverware. It doesn't stop there. Remember the dessert "buffet"? You know - your choice of a piece of cake that was clearly prefabbed and out of a box or those little cups of ice cream? Those days seem to be gone too. The desert options are very plentiful now and very delicious. Just from memory, I remember there being about three types of cookies, carrot cake, some sort of classic wedding cake-style cake, chocolate pie, brownies, rice crispy treats and even a full ice cream Sunday bar that had about a dozen flavors of Edy's ice cream available. Had I eaten at this restaurant even outside of the park, I would not have objected to the $14.44 that I paid with the season pass discount. Even if you have lost faith in the foods at Kings Island, I definitely encourage you to give this one another chance. You get an excellent value for your dollar and, in this reporter's humble opinion, some of the best food that I've ever eaten at a park.

It's a Mid Summer's SCREAM!
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I don't see that on the flier, come to think of it. I put it in via force of habit. I'll shoot them an email and get an official ruling on it. Ryan Just got word from GOCC. They're not limiting the guests. Please remember that anyone not a GOCC or KIC member must pay the non-member fee, though. -
Now we're talking all reasonable-like.

You're right. As I stated in another thread a few weeks ago, the SOB stuff was getting out of hand so it will have to be removed. Once the park has an official statement, we'll certainly let everyone know. Until then it's a little pointless for people posting that it's still closed every day. We knew that.

Topics being locked, moved or removed have that particular course of action taken for different reasons. Topics that are moved are placed into areas that are more appropriate so they can more easily be found and to avoid confusion. Topics that are locked are locked because they have run their course, have become irrelevant or have become irreversibly off topic. Topics are removed when information in them is misleading, inaccurate or possibly damaging to Kings Island, Cedar Fair, KIC or any other party. The unfortunate downside to being a mod or admin on a site like this is that you have to make decisions of this nature on a daily basis. Typically people are pretty understanding of the fact that when a joke topic, as the one Dan made, is posted sometimes it can cause damage. Under circumstances like that we do not typically send out PMs. PMs are typically only sent out as a warning when someone directly violates the terms of service.
