On the contrary, I think the line made Dracula's Castle. It was great seeing the old PT characters... the movie sucked... but the line was cool.

PKIC Layout Suggestions
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Tubaman, please be more definative with your answers... this is intentended to make PKIC a better place for you and your follow community members! For those of you who said you sometimes have an error loading one thing or another, we always look into this stuff, but 99% of the time it's a problem with the browser you are using rather than a problem with the programming. Contact us if any error is persistant, but usually it's an isolated incident. I agree with you 100%. In fact, I noticed yesterday that even our ticket prices are from 2004, which is really bad in my book. We'll fix what we have for now, and we've been working on a checklist of updates for the beginning of the year for the next couple of years. What would you like instead of the blockyness? The look and feel of the front page is supposed to be like a newspaper, but if you guys would want something different, things can be tweaked. Thanks, that means a lot. The best joy we get out of this site is watching it grow and hearing your opinions on our updates. Obviously we all have a big interest in PKI so we don't mind doing these updates in the least, but all of the pre-planning and creative thinking pays off in knowing that hundreds, and in some cases thousands of you look at our photos and watch our videos. Feel free to continue to leave feedback... -
Since we are getting closer and closer to the offseason, which is PKIC's "house cleaning" time, the staff has been discussing different ideas about how to change the format of PKIC in order to make it more convenient and a better experience for you.... let me ask a few questions so we can make considerations with our planning... 1) Is there anything on PKIC that is INCONVENIENT to get to? (i.e. takes too many clicks, too long to load, too hard to find) 2) Is there anything about the LAYOUT of PKIC that makes it unique to you and definitely should NOT be changed or replaced? 3) Is the information that you want about PKI readily available on the site, and so you don't have to spend more than a minute searching for it? 4) How would you change the layout of PKIC to improve the look and feel? 5) Is the front page of PKIC eye-catching? Would a new user want to explore more after seeing it? 6) If there were one big thing abut the look and feel or layout of PKIC that I could change if I were a staff member, what would it be? Thanks in advance, Ryan

I agree... it's a very quiet area. When you go the park as often as I do, you have those days when you just don't feel like riding stuff and you end up just hanging out in the oddest places like behind Wings, in Starbucks, under the Eiffel Tower, etc.

I ride it for free. It's easy to get rides on SS. Just flirt with the sup. He diggs that kind of thing.

Fearfest Attractions Released
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I'm sure they'll use the characters in front of FX Theatre again. -
I believe that it moved into the area that was vacated by the Chippery (to the left of where it was). Your best bet would be to try there.

Fearfest Attractions Released
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
From what I've heard, they're playing with the extended season that they've got from Winterfest and you'll see a November of December announcement. I can't confirm anything, this is just what I've heard. -
PKI's Fearfest site is finally up and has a list of both new and old attractions that are sure to make this Fearfest the best ever! Click here to be link to PKI's Fearfest page and check out the list of attractions below! Attractions: Massacre Manor Journey through the Van Tassel farmhouse, the site of Ichabod Crane's last hours before his unfortunate encounter with the headless horseman. But Crane wasn't the only victim on that fateful night. In the wee hours of the morning, the horseman slipped quietly into the farmhouse and slaughtered all of its inhabitants. Now, 200 years later, the undead lurk around every corner as their sinister laughter echoes through the ruins of the farmhouse. The horseman has slipped off of his horse and crept into this house once before  will he be back for you? Headless Hollow Take a walk deep into the Western Woods, where the headless horseman stalks his unsuspecting victims. But don't be too surprised if you arouse the wrath of the forest's most dangerous denizen  the infamous Headless Horseman. The horseman still lurks in the shadows of the October moon, waiting for the opportune time to add human heads to his collection. And the horseman isn't the only menace you'll encounter on your journey. "The Hollowers," are a clan of woodsmen driven to insanity by the restless spirits of the forest. Beware  they don't like visitors! Funhouse Express A dilapidated fun house attraction turns into a test drive of "Clown Chaos"! Jimmy, would-be inventor, has his own ideas about thrills. At the Action FX Theatre. R.L. Stine Fear Street Be prepared as the horrific heathens jump form the pages of R.L. Stine's Fear Street into this traditional gothic haunted house patterned after a once opulent Victorian manor. Even though the mansion is in ruin, the rumors strange inhabitants persist. With a devilish wink and foreboding laugh, a hooded figure ushers you into this gothic castle. Creeping through the corridors, guests enter one terrifying room after another. There is no turning back from the frightening adventure that lies ahead on this Fear Street. As you strain to see what lies ahead careful of what may be creeping behind. Superstition Elvira, the mistress of the dark herself, invites you inside her virtual 'Scream Park' for the ride of your afterlife. It's full scream ahead, as you screech and scrape through Elvira's thrill ride, promising frightfully interactive entertainment the likes of which no living being has ever seen! Circus of Horrors This one-of-a-kind 3-D nightmare brings the circus to town. However, after looking through the dusty glass window of the ticket booth, it becomes obvious that this is not your run-of-the-mill Big Top. A hall of mirrors challenges your sense of direction, while 3-D images test your sense of reality. Only the most determined will make it out alive. Psycho Path Night has fallen on an old trail leading into Paramount's Kings Island's woods. Trudging down this darkened path overgrown with weeds and trees, guests move helplessly into the heart of darkness where they confront hideous creatures lurking in the shadows. Zombies in advanced stages of decay arise from the bowels of the earth to wander mindlessly along the trail in search of new life. Loud, frantic screams fill the air leading to a place where nightmares are born. Will you make it out alive? Or will you become part of the Psycho Path? Maze of Madness As the sound of footsteps echo through the park, guests draw nearer to the asylum known as The Maze of Madness. Chain link and mirrors make up this challenging maze where it is hard to tell the doctors from the patients. The very sight of its blood soaked walls will make your stomach knot as you peer through the cracked entry portal. Don't be surprised if you never find your way out. Fear not; someone ... or something is sure to find you. Friday the 13th: Jason's Extreme Cuts You are cordially invited to a special screaming ... er, screening of a terror-filled tribute to Paramount Pictures' celebrated slasher saga, Friday the 13th. Overflowing with stomach-churning special effects, this interactive attraction is sure to make you uneasy as you watch them on the big screen in the Paramount Theater. Soak up the horror as buckets of blood drench his victims in the film, and in the theater! It's a bloodbath of epic proportions as the diabolical legend of Camp Crystal Lake wreaks his revenge on FearFest. Warning: This attraction/movie contains scenes and effects that can be described as gory and violent. The movie is not recommended for young children or guests who are sensitive to horror movie images and intense special effects

Reminds me of the promo poster on the fence at the exit of The Beast. It features four kids who are clearly freezing having long sleeve coats on and clinching the lap bar like it's their mom.

Photo Gallery Orginization
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
Ok, the gallery has been almost 100% organized with descritpions added to most of the major attractions. Any feedback would be encouraged! -
Yeah, I wouldn't bother e-mailing the park about the site quite yet. There could be numerous reasons why it's not up yet, so it's probably out of whoever you emailed's hands. Just sit back and relax... they do have 3 weeks...

Photo Gallery Orginization
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
I gutted almost the whole thing. Click here to see it. The albums "roller coasters" "thrill rides" and "family rides" are organized the way it's going to be. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. -
I never got the whole "we're no Cedar Point", "we're no Disney World", etc. deal. When I was at Kennywood, I was talking to a couple of employees who recognized my PKIC shirt. One of them said, "We're no PKI, but I'm sure you can find some stuff to do around here." I thought he was nuts. Granted, almost everything about PKI outweighs Kennywood, but KP does pack a per capita bunch that PKI never will. To me every park is unique and his its own brand of entertainment.

I wonder if the occupation of HBL will be a peaceful one, or if the Nickelodeon characters will find it necessary to use force.
-
As much as I'd love to disagree with you there, after a petition with thousands of signatures, countless bad GRs about the situation, and a generally bad taste in the park resulting from Paramount's decision without PP even reconsidering the decision at all (at least to my knowledge) does kind of leave me unsettled. I hope that in time, they'll realize that the key to success is giving the people what they want, rather than telling people what they want and giving it to them.

WTF? Did we go to the same park today?? Bill and I went up there to take care of some stuff, and by 11 the lines were long. We didn't even ride anything except the Zephyr really all day because of that. We even took a shot at Top Gun when we got bored and the line went all the way from the queue station and stretched to that last set of steps near the billboard. IJ had a full house and so did Delirium. You must have lucked out or just started really early if you had those short waits.
-
Just e-mail them to me and we'd be happy to host them.

While at the park today, we were able to catch a glimse into what Fearfest has in stock. Not entirely too much to see quite yet, but the sheer fact that they have a good amount of decorations up already shows the magnitude that this Fearfest is going to be! Interesting note: All four projection screens have been removed from the Festhaus. I'm guessing that this is for Fearfest/Winterfest preparation. Behind screen 4, over the main entrance, there is a now-exposed beautiful stainglass window which looks like it's supposed to be of a German design (go figure). I'm guessing that this work of art had been forgotten until recently. Click here for the photos! Brought to you of course by PKICentral.com, and the man who puts the "B. Ware" in "beware" PKIC's own Bill Ware.

Although we haven't really heard anything either way, it's highly unlikely that HBL will disappear after Labor Day weekend. The area just has too many things going on for Fearfest.

Photo Gallery Orginization
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
I realize that if you're just looking for random photos of the park, it's a little under par on that, but if your're looking for a specific ride or attraction, use the "search" function in the upper right hand corner. It works extremely well, and willl help you on your way. -
I changed the layout of the photo gallery slightly. I thought it was unorganized to have several Beastbuzz galleries, and soon to be several Fall Freakout galleries. Now, each of those annual events have their own categories, so if you click on the photo on the main page, it links you to a seperate screen with the albums from the event from the past years. I figure that if Beastbuzz and Fallfreakout are going to be recurring events, it would be junky to have a screen full of albums for the events. Is the look acceptable? Is it easy for you to navigate? Click here to be linked to the photo gallery. Please leave your feedback, Ryan

I did Kennywood in about 3 hours myself. It was even the day that they have their big parade with all of the radio stations there. On their forums, they told me it would be about as crowded as it gets, which was kind of a joke. The longest thing we waited for was Jack Rabbit, which wasn't even a half hour. PR was a walk on and their Racer was maybe 10 mins. The only other longer wait we had was for Noah's Ark, which was about 20 mins, but it would have been worth a wait of several hours in my opinion.

The park is usually in full operation during Fearfest. This is of course with the exception of Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay, which closes for the season on Labor Day, and White Water Canyon which usually starts winte rehab in September.
