  1. Cedar Point has the most rollercoasters, AND has the most rides than any other park with 69. Now that is diversity. Another common myth is that they build one every year. 2003- Top Thrill Dragster 2002- Wicked Twister 2000- Millenium Force 1999- Woodstock Express 1995- Mantis 1993- Raptor 6 coaster in 10 years, one is a Intimin Impulse, and Woodstock Express is a children's coaster. Now look at this: Rugrats Reptar- 2001 SoB- 2000 Face-Off- 1999 FoF- 1996 Top Gun- 1993 Does this mean that PKI is centered on coasters as well? It is only one less...
  2. I agree with the bigger trains for SoB. The ride would not be nearly as rough with different specs for the train size. The question I have is: Do the trains have to be designed this way because of the uniquness of SoB or did PKI go cheap and get smaller trains?
  3. Before PKI took over KI was, BY FAR, the cleanest park that I have ever been to. It is nowhere close to what it once was.
  4. I hate to see any ride taken out for any reason. PKI did take out KC, but because parts were scarce. Other than that, the park has more than enough room to expand w/o subtracting any rides.
  5. The only ride that you will wait 3 to 4 hours for will be TTD. Other than than that the longest wait will be 2 hours on a Sat. afternoon for MF. Cedar Point has received the Golden Ticket award 3 years in a row for wait times. There was nothing written about the "abismal waits" because there are none. The article was extremly well written, and very opened minded. Everything mentioned is the exact truth, though hard to swallow for most PKI entusiasts. This feeling is understanable since PKI is your hometown park. I go to both PKI and CP about 5 times each a year and I do agree with his views. Don't be insulted or upset with his article; it was his honest opinion.
  6. I wonder if The Vortex trains could get the same modifications that FoF received? I would certainly make for a "free feeling" ride.
  7. Try not to take this the wrong way, because my mom-in-law IS gay but, for our society/world to evolve we need to reproduce. Those in a same sex relationship cannot reproduce, and that is a plain fact. This entire thread has been people's opinions on the Red-Shirt day. Calling people names because they don't agree with you is the same thing as to why you called us names to begin with. We have a right, and they have a right. It doesn't mean I want to see it, or especially want my kids to see it.
  8. You are right by saying "If you don't like it, don't look at it", but many children will stare. I guess that my opinion is; that it is improper to have same sex affection in public. I do understand why PKI really can't do anything about it, but the so-called profanity on clothing is an opinion too.
  9. Ok, not to argue, but how can the park say what someone is not allowed to wear because in some people's eyes it maybe profane to them, but allow public affection of gays? And what is considered out of hand? If PKI is going to allow PA they should allow all t-shirts.
  10. According to gay.com, more than 40% of those who are gay have children OR have adopted children. Also more than 80% of the children who are HIV+ are adopted by gays.
  11. Just because someone is gay, does not mean that they don't have kids. My mother-in-law has two children, which includes my wife. She had a change of heart about 16 years ago. Her significant other has a 17 year old son and they live together. Also. CoasterXtreme pointed out that most gays do not show public affection, which is true. But it is those few who do choose to become a public display that I do have a problem with. The last thing I would want is my daughter seeing two people of the same sex kissing. How do you explain this to a 5 year old in the middle of the park on a hot summer day when you are on vacation? I do respect a person's choice of whom they want to be with, but honestly, it is different. My mom-in-law respects my family enough to not flaunt her decision in the public eye, but I am worried about those who do not care. PKI is on a thin line here with not allowing some shirts that are distasteful to some, but when it comes to gays, will they stop public affection between gays? Honestly, I really dislike when opposite sex couples do the same thing.
  12. Are the ride ops supposed to call security when they see someone or are notified when someone is smoking in line? I would hope so. Having the same policy may influence those who smoke, not to in line and leave it at the midway.
  13. Where is the 3rd train kept?
  14. SML828 you must have missed this. Sorry for the confusion.
  15. Where in your quote does it say anything about in-line smoking or smoking at PKI? Your comments are directed at all smokers in general.
  16. To Dino and Scooby: Your personal attacks do have an affect on people. This thread started with smoking in line, which is wrong, to your own personal feelings on smoking. There are many things that can cause death if they are overdone: drinking alcohol, drinking soda (though a little extreme all that sugar is not healthy and causes obesity), speeding, skydiving, running, boxing, drugs etc. You may laugh at those examples, but they have caused death and people still choose to do them. Smoking can cause cancer and cause death, but not always. Hating smokers in line I can understand, hating smokers in general is wrong. I respect your opinion, but respect others opinions as well.
  17. Queue line smoking is a issue at every park not just PKI. While it is prohibited at a majority of the parks, enforcement for "smoke police" is a cost issue. You would need at least one extra person per ride to properly enforce it, and amusement parks spend enough money as it is. Unfortunatly those who do choose to smoke will also ignore you when asked to put it out since they are already breaking the rules. There is no clear-cut solution for this problem. Ejection from the park is one way to deal with the situation, but does the punishment fit the crime?
  18. TOO MUCH TIME!
  19. Don't forget about credit cards and season passes. PKI could be in for a nightmare if those cards were demagentized.

    Top Gun

I assume the reason for the red track would be for the theaming of the jet's flame that comes out of the engine. Just a guess though.
  21. 4 hours for The Beast in '79, the line was close to the Eiffel Tower.
  22. If KI used ride tickets it was before 1979.
  23. That is too bad about the height limitation. 6'4 is not that tall. I figure it would have been at least 6'9. If you think about how small the cars are for SOB and the restriction for Delirium, you think PKI would have done something to prevent this.
  24. I am not trying to be mean, but let's look at the situation: How are abbreviations NOT a part of life? Each of the 50 states have a 2 letter abbreviation. When writing a letter, abbreviations are used for Dr., Trl., St., Ave., ect. (Another!) A middle initial is a abberviation. Cars use them with LTD, GT, GTP. Airports and weather forcasts are another way abbreviations are used: ATL, NY, LA, LAX. One of our countries greatest leaders: JFK. Even in your quote, the word "yah" is used. If you would like to complain about something, complain about spelling and punctuation. Although the english language has been slaughtered for a long time now, consider this: Ebonics is a class taught in LA.
  25. This is a disgrace! I am going to notify the CIA and FBI!
