  1. TOO MUCH TIME!
  2. Don't forget about credit cards and season passes. PKI could be in for a nightmare if those cards were demagentized.

I assume the reason for the red track would be for the theaming of the jet's flame that comes out of the engine. Just a guess though.
  4. 4 hours for The Beast in '79, the line was close to the Eiffel Tower.
  5. If KI used ride tickets it was before 1979.
  6. That is too bad about the height limitation. 6'4 is not that tall. I figure it would have been at least 6'9. If you think about how small the cars are for SOB and the restriction for Delirium, you think PKI would have done something to prevent this.

I am not trying to be mean, but let's look at the situation: How are abbreviations NOT a part of life? Each of the 50 states have a 2 letter abbreviation. When writing a letter, abbreviations are used for Dr., Trl., St., Ave., ect. (Another!) A middle initial is a abberviation. Cars use them with LTD, GT, GTP. Airports and weather forcasts are another way abbreviations are used: ATL, NY, LA, LAX. One of our countries greatest leaders: JFK. Even in your quote, the word "yah" is used. If you would like to complain about something, complain about spelling and punctuation. Although the english language has been slaughtered for a long time now, consider this: Ebonics is a class taught in LA.

This is a disgrace! I am going to notify the CIA and FBI!
  9. Scooby's castle will not always be around, just like the name on the kiddie rollercoaster. It was changed to Beastie from Scooby for a reason. Scooby, Mickey, Bugs, HOMER?!? Wow.
  10. It is simply a cost issue.
  11. When PT opened, 10 years ago, it was a great ride. The f/x were up-to-date for the time, and it was very popular. Scooby will be this way for years, and then it will get old and something else will replace it, probably a movie theme that Paramount has out at the time. Just think how many rides have been in that building, Scooby is now the 4th ride since 1973, for a reason. TR could be re-theamed in 10 years for another movie. Saying a ride is "dumb" because it is old is a slap in the face to those that designed it.
  12. The Beast was best in '79, and still is today- By a large margin.
  13. PKI does have the largest, fastest, and only looping wooden coaster just built just a short 3 years ago. What did that crush, besides records?
  14. I am not from the Cincy area, so I don't have the convienence of have them around, but I love anything from Skyline Chili.
  15. applause...applause...applause
  16. Yes, inversions would be a must.
  17. Try to have the same layout just make it inverted, it could happen...
  18. I am very surprised that when International Restaurant was open before Paramount took over did not have a Exec Chef. It was a higher class place to eat.
  19. Erie, PA. About 5 1/2 hours away and a PKI lover since 1979 when I was *just* tall enough for The Beast.
  20. For someone who believes that PKI does not have to add a coaster that "pierces the sky" it is too bad you don't know what the term "Giga" stands for. Before you try to one-up someone you should not contridict yourself. You should also go to Cedar Point before making assumptions that you cannot back-up. Apparently you don't really know what Giga means either. Gigacoaster A rollercoaster which exceeds a height of more than 300ft This says nothing about piercing the sky with a coaster. Not to mention the fact that, CP's newest coaster, is what 400+ feet tall? Talk about piercing the sky. Also, before using big words, you should definitely learn to spell them. Like CONTRADICT, and also know the definition as well. I hope you are still in school and have a chance to learn this, newbie. Nice try fireguy. Unfortunatly if you would referance your comments in PKI rumors, New rides for '04 page 5. You said that adding a coaster 300' to 400' was not necessary. BTW nice punctuation since you want to be a english professor part-time to fighting fires. CONTRADICT is not that big of a word for most, perhaps just you. As for the definition, you described it in your posts, under different forums. Since when did they let teenagers fight fires? ...and have a nice day!
  21. Again, misquoted. I didn't say that Scooby Doo didn't count. I said that they did not "add" to the family rides. Minus Phantom add Scooby equals same amount of rides.
  22. For someone who believes that PKI does not have to add a coaster that "pierces the sky" it is too bad you don't know what the term "Giga" stands for. Before you try to one-up someone you should not contridict yourself. You should also go to Cedar Point before making assumptions that you cannot back-up. BTW PKI closed Phantom Theatre and renovated it for the new Scooby Doo ride, so they did not "add" a family ride this year.
  23. Also... Even though "Broken Arrow" would be a intresting name for a coaster, it would probably be a bad idea. Just given the fact that "broken" is in the name may give the general public a bad feeling about the ride, and also that the term "broken arrow" refers to a lost nucular weapon, which is a touchy subject with the possibility of war with Iraq, and the nucular uprisal in N. Korea.
  24. PKI really does need a break-through coaster to put itself on the map as PKI not "the other park in Ohio". SOB was great publicity when it was announced, but unfortunatly got a bad rep the first year. Though some of you may disagree, PKI does need to feed off of Cedar Point. When a family goes to CP they usually go for 2 days. PKI needs to find a way to get the same reputation as CP, not the kind of rep that the Six Flags parks have. (i.e.: cloned rides, smaller parks, long lines, a one day park.) I love PKI, even though it was better before Paramount took over. I hope that the new coaster that was mentioned in the ACE newsletter is a record breaking ride, and I also hope that B&M is able to produce a kind of ride that PKI needs.
  25. Cedar Point was charging $2.50 for a Coke out of the vending machines last year, so everyone stopped buying Coke. CP finally got the idea and DROPPED the price. The prices are high because there are people willing to pay the price. It is the simple method of supply and demand. As far as getting rid of rides/buildings, I would hate to see ANY ride torn down. What PKI does need is a nice sit down restaurant in the park. The TGI Fridays at CP does tremendously well, and is near the top for sales for all Fridays. It even has the single day record of $25,000 in sales for all Fridays. And this restaurant is only open when the park is open during the summer.
