i have not been there yet, but my allergies have been worse this year than ever. it seems that the smallest things can trigger it. it may not be a problem at the lodge. it very well could be southern ohio in general. i travel a lot for my company and when i get a way from here, i have no breathing problems at all. what makes it worse to find any type of cause is that now that its public knowledge, people who have just drove by the lodge will want to jump on the lawsuit bandwagon.

New Name, New Look, New Attitude, Same Great Place!
fan of beast replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
GREAT JOB! i was looking thru The Beast construction videos and i need a clarification. on photo 27, it appears that the track heading back to the station comes from under the second lift hill and not the helix. did i miss something ? -
If you want to talk old. I remember Gopher, Mosaic, and the release of Netscape 1.0. There was no pop ups, no spam, no javascript, really no ads at all. Everything was slow and the goal was for websites to be as simple, easy, and small as possible. When I first started "surfing the web" I was using a 2400 baud modem. The internet really has come a long way. Before 1992 you pretty much had Gopher. The first web browser was I believe NCSA Mosaic in 1993. The internet did not even start to become popular until after Netscape Navigator. Beta's of Netscape were available in late 1994 but the first commercial release was in 1995. I believe in 1992 AOL was mostly a private network still and users were not browsing the internet. Anyways the first version of AOL for windows was not until 1993 until then it was more of a BBS type system under DOS. you guys make me feel really old. i remember calculators as big as a laptop.

i gotta go with the front. i like not having heads in front of me. Vortex is the only coaster that i take the back. has anyone else noticed that the speed and roughness of The Beast changes with temperature and humidity? we always judge speed by how far we make it up the second lift hill before the chain catches. anyone else have any quirky ideas to judge speed?

i already purchased a ki pass. my company is now sending me to philly for 2 weeks a month. will they allow me to upgrade an existing pass to a maxx pass ? i see that dorney is close to where i'll be staying.

i just wanna ride roller coasters
-
i did a search for Firehawk roller coaster. this was the results. Kings Island - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia An Arrow Dynamics Suspended roller coaster. ... Firehawk. 2007. A Vekoma flying coaster, originally located at Geauga Lake as X-Flight. ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramount's_Kings_Island More pages from en.wikipedia.org when you open the site it mentions the x-flight move but leaves out the name Firehawk. has there ever been an arrow coaster previously named Firehawk? is x-flight an arrow or vekoma coaster?

i always enjoyed the cowboy/indian battle re-enactments on the train ride. how long ago did they do away with those ? i guess they aren't "politically correct" these days.

You've only mentioned Pizza in Ohio and Michigan? That My Good Man does not make you a Pizza Connoisseur. i have not found any in chicago, northern indiana, philadelphia, delaware, florida, kentucky,or west virginia worth mentioning
-
Someone else mentioned Johnny's pizza to me a few weeks ago, and how great it is. I've lived in Columbus for almost 20 years, and have never been there! I even live on the south side (well, German Village...) Where is the Johnny's in question? (I tried to look it up, but there are several "Johnny's" in Columbus, and I'm not sure which one is the great one...) i don't remember the address. my father in law used to live a couple of blocks from johnny's, but has since went on to be with the lord. it was only a couple of blocks from high st about a 1/2 mile south of the brewery district. p.s. Johnny's Pizza, 1336 Parsons Ave Columbus, OH 43206-3643 (614) 443-4168

that pizza in the picture looks done just right. as a connoisseur of fine pizza everywhere, it's pauls pizza in detroit, johnny's pizza on the south side of columbus, dina's pizza in cleveland, giovanni's in portsmouth, and i haven't found any pizza in cincinnati worth mentioning. any recommendations i will gladly try except chicago style. eating larosa's by the fountains is better than festhaus.
-
it's at the on ramp from rt. 63 onto rt. 48
-
i would like to see something with outdoor seating by the fountains on the opposite side as larosa's. it is called international street, and most european countries are known for their sidewalk cafes.
-
judging from the lines at starbucks, i would doubt it's going away.

KD Season Pass Perks
fan of beast replied to Reclaimer's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
in 2005, they would let season passholders occasionally get a bring a friend ticket that was good for certain days. in 2006, they went to the BAFF on 2 or 3 days during the season. we took friends to one of these days and will never make that mistake again. the park was well beyond max capacity. -
i have been searching the web for train design info. there is a ton of info on track design and coaster history, but nothing on the trains themselves. does anyone know if there's any info on trains out there?
-
i keep hearing that lighter trains are needed for sob. do the trains have to be replaced to lighten them or do they have weights installed that could be removed? my familiarity with building race cars is that you build them as light as possible so that weights can be added and positioned where needed to make the car go around the track as fast and smooth as possible. i've read many posts here at pkic that many seem to have a lot of knowledge about brands and styles of trains. can someone clear this up for me?

i thought it would great for an anniversary dinner with my wife
-
i agree that it should be anything besides a cookie cutter restaurant. if you ever noticed, applebee's, friday's,outback, ruby tuesdays, and on and on all have the same basic menu. while were at it, how about a cafe on the Eiffel Tower?
-
without gold pass perks, i for one will spend a lot less time spending my money at the park.

i really missed the shows this year. i went to the customer service to inquire and was told that they had received numerous complaints about the showplace and backporch not being open. hopefully that will change in 2007. the shows are a great way to take a break and relax.

i moved back to cincy in 2003. i hadn't been to ki since 1981. the park is nothing like i remembered. the landscaping was always top notch. i definitely agree that ij was a waste. i enjoyed riding with my kids on the antique cars and then they were gone.
-
we only live 5 minutes from the park. the speedlanes were great, especially on the weekends when the park was packed. we could run over for a few quick rides, enjoy a pizza by the fountains with the kids and be home without feeling wiped out.

i know it's not a gold pass anymore, but does cf have anything similar ?
