the only KI ride that i hold onto something is Vortex. that is for support to keep my head from getting slammed side to side in the restraints.

weight issues and rides
fan of beast replied to Mr. Coastermania's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
i am 265 at 5'8". i fit in everything at KI. the rides at CP definitely have tighter restraints. i couldn't fit in millenium force on my first trip to CP last summer. this summer i fit snugly in MF. i couldn't fit into WT last year and never tried it this year. the ride ops at CP are not as helpful as the ops at KI. at CP they tell you if you can't latch it yourself, you can't ride. i have had hip surgery and can't twist enough to latch myself on a lot of rides. so i make them help me. -
yep! wait till she sees that i ratted her out.

last year we were on the forward racer. as we were going up the second hill, some kids on the backward train were pointing and laughing. that's when my sister realized her blouse was open and she was giving the kids a show.

we were at it again tonight. i tried to tell mom that it was my sister starting all those fights.

i like to have fun with the onride photos. here is one i bought today after riding The Beast. i'd like to see if others have any wild onride photos.

Here’s the Story - of Kings Island and the Brady’s
fan of beast replied to Avatar's topic in Trip Reports
Great report avatar!! i have missed so much at KI this summer due to travel. trip reports like this are the only things keeping me in the loop. i did make it home thursday night after 6 weeks. there has been too much to do to make it to the park yet. we're going to try to make it later today. were the actors from that era more down to earth than modern actors? Fan of Beast -
great tr. your photog skills are amazing. the last time we went to the point, we checked out all the usually overlooked rides instead of waiting for hours for the midway giants. it made for an awesome day.

it's your story. write it however you want. it was kinda interesting reading with the 3rd person narrative. i actually love rainy days at KI. we live 10 minutes from the park. when we get late afternoon showers, we head out. people that have been dragging kids around all day are looking for any excuse to get them to the car by then. nothing like knocking off 10-15 rides in just a couple of hours.

i had langos for lunch. it's like a fried pizza dough with sour cream and mozzarella cheese. very greasy but, delicious. admission was 3900 hungarian forints, 16 euros, or $24 usd.

titanic goes completely over. you only have a lap bar. i felt that if i straightened my legs, i could slide out. it was freaky. you're right about the not suing part. people here still take responsibility for their own actions.

we left slovakia saturday morning for the 3 hr drive to budapest. hungary has some of the smoothest highways you will ever see. no border patrol. just like driving from state to state in america. we arrived at the park at 11:00. it was a 45 min. wait for the ticket booth. here is the line. they only have 6 windows. this is the "looping star". it was very smooth. it is the premier coaster here. it was a walkon when we arrived. later in the day it had a very long line. next was "kanyargo". swipers sweepers for big kids. this is "t rex". this thing doesn't look big, but it packs a powerful punch. this was an intense ride. once it starts throwing and spinning you around, it feels like your brain is going to explode. the ride time was almost too long. don't do this one after lunch. next up was szellemvasut. typical haunted dark ride. this is "familia express". it is a self powered family coaster. they give you 6 laps. it was fun despite its lack of size. now on to "titanic". you can see me peeking thru the bars on the 1st pic. the europeans in our group sat this one out as they did on t rex. this was the first time in an amusement park for one. she did do looping star. what a trooper. the other euro has been to kennywood where he rode phantom with his wife. she's from pittsburgh. she rode everything with me. this was hullamvasut. it has quite an imposing track. it is a very old coaster. the brakeman rides on the train. you get in and out without it coming to a complete stop. after a cable pulls it up the lift, it descends slowly. it will do a 20 to 30 ft drop. then back up some. it comes down like this all the way in baby steps. it runs on what looks like small railroad track. there are no anti-lift wheels. restraints are non-existent. this is ikarusz. kind of looks like shake, rattle, and roll............. ....... on steroids!!!!!!!!! this was a lot of fun. now on to some of the things we didn't ride. torony vadvizi utazas (stream ride) break dance they have no formal parking lot. just squeeze in where you can. they use so much public transportation in europe that parking a car can be a nightmare anywhere you go. we stayed at the park for 5 hrs. you can see the whole place in an hour. i really enjoyed this trip. settle my roller coaster withdrawals until i get back to KI next weekend. hope you enjoy the pics. fan of beast

my grandson would ride scrambler and shake, rattle, and roll, then claim that rides in nick u were too tall or fast. i could never quite figure out his logic. so i threw him over my shoulder and put him on beastie, avatar, and reptar. now these are must rides when we go. he even demands front seat on reptar. i have since thrown him over the shoulder and got him on ae, junklot, racer, and flightdeck. he now demands front seat on flightdeck. i'll wait till next year, then it's over the shoulder and beast. he doesn't want to take that first step to get in line, but once he's there he seems fine.

we have a lot of frenchman in our company. they take a lot of patience to deal with. usually want to strangle them. i have been here in Kosice long enough that i curse the tourists like a local. i blend in real well until i have to talk. then my cover is blown. i'm leaving in a few minutes to go to vidampark. i'll have a tr tomorrow.

i am coming to the end of a 6 week stay. that is about my limit for being away from home. the next time i come here, i will be bringing my wife. she has never been out of the states. her grandfather was slovak and she has been dying to come here. my travels have been slovakia and russia. that is one country i was glad to get out of. i spent a month there. my only time in germany was an 8 hour layover at munich airport. i am told that prague in the czech republic is a must see city. if i fly delta, i can schedule a 24 hr. layover there. i want to see paris. i always had this desire to have a glass of wine at a sidewalk cafe by the Eiffel Tower. just like in the movies.

it's 9:30 am over here. do you ever sleep? have you made a lot of trips to europe?

i have checked out the park in vienna online along with other parks in the area. we decided to go to vidampark in budapest, hungary. we are going tomorrow. it is a 3 hour drive from Kosice. you can look it up at rcdb. my last trip over i spent 24 hrs. in vienna. i visited several jewish holocaust museums and went to the music verein. it was the 1st classical music concert i had ever been to. the music verein is considered one of the top 3 classical music venues in the world. the other 2 are in boston and italy.

Carmen Electra to Cameo in Flashback: Totally 80s
fan of beast replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
are there any other "stars" that started at KI other than Boddah and Ronny? -
It seems to me that it wouldn't take very much to do something like that in that area of the park, if not for the entire park in general. You could probably control the signs straight from the operator booth if need be. That would be very nifty. That's one of the things I loved about CP, the signs out front. No need to waste your time if you didn't want to. seems to me that the signs at cp always say 15 minutes, even when the line is way past the sign.
