Hands Up or Down?
Usually hands up, it just depends on if it I find it funner on a particular ride to do so. Seats like those on the Raptor, just are verry fun to do so because of the bar. Maverick, did it once, won't ever do it again, the restraint absolutely manhandled my shoulder and head when my arms were up.

Holiday World Announces World's Tallest Water Ride for 2009!
The main reason that I doubt I'll ever visit Holiday World, is that I feel with price of admission, I feel too much like I'm paying for water attractions, and I'm a fan of dry rides only. Heck I've been to Kings Island over the last 30 years hundreds of times and I have yet to visit the waterpark, just not a fan. If they had separate admissions I'm sure I would visit, and I may once someday but I don't feel I should have to pay for the water rides, but for fans of waterparks I'm sure it's a great place.

What ride have you wated the longeest in a line for and tell if u have a funny story about it
between 3 and 3 1/2 hours to ride Millennium Force in it's debut season. The first year you couldn't wait for the front seat it was luck of the draw. I was with my brother-in-law, we walked up to about the 4th car where the back seat line was empty, I wanted to take that one as it was the closest to the front that was vacant. My brother-in-law insisted on taking the front seat of the the 5th car, because he argued he would rather be one car back but in the front car. We argued about this and I finally gave in and we took the line for the the front seat of the the 5th car, (not really a line, as only 2 people at a time could come to each gate) then up came a handicap person who wanted the back seat of the 4th car (don't ask me why) the ride attendant told the person in line for that car (which just happened to be my other brother in law and sister) that the handicap person wanted that seat and if they waited till the next train they could have the front, which they did. So I could've had the front seat had we taken the seat I argued for. To put it nicely I was ready to kill my Brother in Law, and I have never let him forget about it.

Cedar Fair Cuts Dividend, Considering Park and Land Sales...
Personally it doesn't hurt my feelings, if they sell parks from not around here. I'd like to see them be more of a local company and spend most of there money on parks in the midwest, and sell parks from not around here and reduce the debt.

What Amusement Park do you want to visit most?
I am definitely visiting these parks this summer: 1) Cedar Point 2) Kings Island 3) Coney Island 4) Stricker's Grove 5) Kennywood 6) Idlewild 7) Lakemont 8) Delgrosso's 9) Knoebel's and am possibly also visiting: 10) Conneauat Lake (if it really opens, fingers crossed) 11) Beach Bend 12) Camden Park

Anyone ever been to Camden Park?
Excellent, thanks!

Anyone ever been to Camden Park?
Really, I didn't think $21 sounded too much for rides like a coaster, a whip, paratrooper, haunted house, log flume et al. Maybe if you live near there, but interesting for a short trip. thanks for the input.

Anyone ever been to Camden Park?
I didn't realize how close this was (about 3 hours) till I checked it out on a map today, It sounds like a nice little gem from what I've read. Anyone been there? How was it?

What do you think KI will bring back for the 2009 season?
Country or 80's that's like trying to pick between having your teeth pulled or having a root canal. Can we please have some rock n roll - Oh, I forgot this is Cincinnati, nothin' rock n roll about this town anymore.

Good interview with GM of Lakemont Park
no way I'd go there on Wednesday, it's worth the extra money, and ten dollars isn't that much, to go on a less crowded day.

Good interview with GM of Lakemont Park
Twister was the name of a former coaster there I believe, but it also a classic flat ride there now. See picture above.

Good interview with GM of Lakemont Park
Lakemont Park was bought in the 80's and a project to transform it into a theme park called Boyerstown USA began, it was however a failed project. I read about this in Jim Futrell's Amusement Parks of PA (excellent book) with lots of info on PA parks. There probably is info on this on Lakemont Park's website under History. The twister is a ride that use to be at amusement parks probably in 30's or 40's I've seen it on video's of amusement park history of places such as Cedar Point, they have been long gone I think, there may still be one somewhere, but I am unaware of any one other than Lakemont that currently has it. It looks kind of neat, but I've never seen one in person so I can't elaborate on what it's like. photo of this ride can be seen here: Twister At Lakemont Park

Good interview with GM of Lakemont Park
Wednesday is probably a bad day for Lakemont, I believe admission is only 3 dollars which means crowded. I'm going on a Sunday when I do my PA tour that will include Lakemont if time allows on Travel day Saturday night, Delgrosso's and Lakemont on Sunday (probably about 90 minutes, 2 hours max at Delgrosso's) and the rest of the day at Lakemont, Monday Knoebel's, Tuesday Kennywood, and Wednesday Idlewild for half a day then head home. Studying them over they can be done in one day but unless you have young kids, I definately would say only a couple of hours at Delgrosso's and the rest of the day at Lakemont, I'm looking forward to riding the Twister which is an all but defunct ride, it may be the last one left, and I have never seen one before, so it should be interesting. Still Delgrosso's looks like somewhat of a charming place, but I believe there is much more to do ridewise at Lakemont.

Can Kings Island Survive The recession?
They survived possibly a worse one in the late 70's

countdown ...
I don't like to countdown till it's under 45 days, it's too depressing to think how long I have to wait

This May Be A Dumb Question: Cameras?
The two on ride video's I have taken are of The Kings Island Train in all it's glory, and the Sky Ride at Cedar Point. Anyone ever see that guy at Stricker's Grove that takes his camera on the Flying Scooters? You know the guy that soars and crashes into the trees.

Cedar Fair Reports Results for 2008
I wouldn't have called Planet Snoopy a major investment, they owned all that stuff already, I believe. I'm surprised that there isn't going to be much of anything new at Cedar Point this year, I didn't expect a major investment, but I thought we would see some kind of new attraction, if only something small. However we may still see something, sometimes it happens at the last minute.

Kennywood, Sister Parks Confirm Layoffs
yeah that kind of thing happens in most businesses whether it's banks, sports franchises or amusement parks, it's not really right I suppose, but I guess if you invest in a company, you want put some of your people in, or the type of people you want. It's unfortunate but that's life.

Kennywood, Sister Parks Confirm Layoffs
Most companies out there have done or will do the same thing, lay off, that's just the difficult times were having now.

Delgrosso's to add 3 new rides and retire 2 old ones
Perhaps this pirate ship is better, but I don't think you will ever see Revolution if you haven't seen it by now. The park does look a little boring on the ride side, but I think it may have a certain charm to it, so I will definately visit on my trip, especially to ride the wheel of fortune, however I will be splitting that day with Lakemont Park and I probably will only spend about 2 and a half hours at Delgrosso's the rest of the day I will be spending at Lakemont.

Delgrosso's to add 3 new rides and retire 2 old ones
per Screamscape and wikipedia they are swapping and old pirate ship for a new one, added and kiddie ride and a swing ride. They are retiring Balloon Race. I'm going there on a PA amusement park trip this summer, but to me this seems to be a bit of a downgrade, I think I would've preferred Balloon Race But at least they didn't retire Casino, I would've been ticked, I'm looking forward to riding Wheel of Fortune from Kings Island for the first time in over 20 years!
