http://www.sanduskyr...ld-coaster-2013 Given the early release of this, I assume work to begin soon. This does not necessarily mean the "coaster wars" are back on by any means, but this certianly ends the notion that CF's new chief is only partial to family rides. Actually this says to me that the coaster wars aren't back on, because if they still cared about having the most coasters they would find a way to keep DT. This will not increase their count. Of course if the coaster wars is about quality not quantity their hasn't been a cometitive war for years.

Great Find! I'm almost sure the picture was Winterfest now that I think about it. Due to the size of the picture. All of my parents pictures at Kings Island when I was a kid were the old square ones except a few Winterfest pictures that were taken later than the others obviously with a 35 mm, since this picture is the 35 mm size it's allmost assured that this was Winterfest.

Perhaps it wasn't Winterfest, my memory tended to think that it was, but I'm not positive.

One of my favorite rides ever! I love dark rides, especially boat rides, and I liked the idea that it wasn't a haunted ride but like you were visiting some fun happy place.
-
Found this in my photo archives from the mid to late 80's and thought I would share.
-
Can't say this hurts my feelings, I would like to see a new ride here in the future.

Personally all the kids in our family like dogs better than swiss cheese with eyeballs, but everyone's different I suppose

I miss The Enchanted Voyage, The Tumblebug (and it's replacement The Skylab), The Antique Cars, Gulliver's Rub-a-Dub, Fool House, The Flying Dutchman, The Backwards Racer The train when it was actually more than transportation to a waterpark ......but, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Life goes on and it's still fun

I'll have to see how this goes, it may stop me from riding as I have to have a front car on The Beast wherever it is or I get a splitting headache. The front cars have a solid place to put your feet against which helps my head a lot as opposed to the other seats where it's all an open area under the seat in front of you.

Gay couple asked to reverse shirt at Dollywood
raptor replied to ChazyG's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Good for Dollywood! I don't care what people wanna do with their life, it's the need to make a statement and where it across their chest and attempt influence other people's kids that makes it a problem -

It just depends on what you're looking for. If you want quick convenience to the park, then you want the Breakers. If you can get them I think the best rooms for the price are the 2nd floor rooms in the Rotunda and the East Wing 2 queen beds. The cheapest are in the Bon-Air section but those rooms aren't very nice. My favorites are the Sandcastle Suites and cottages on the lake at Lighthouse point, these are beautiful spots with a beautiful trail around the lake. They are a bit pricey and not that convenient to the park, but you can call for a shuttle.

Camden Park: Spider Collapses
raptor replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I thought that was a pretty ridiculous statement as well, especially including Cedar Point, Kings Island maybe with incidents like SOB and Flight Commander, but what has ever happened at CP other than a car getting stuck or a mild bump with another car?(watch out for that wild mouse) I'd say this was pretty major compared to that. Quite honestly even though no one was in it and seriously got hurt, I'd say this is pretty major compared to Kings Islands notorious incidents - part of the ride collapsing, that is pretty scary, and I think saying these things happen is not a good pr statement, they should show more concern. -
Choosing a Park to visit...
raptor replied to McSalsa's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If you goto Cedar Point I would recommend trying to get a good deal at one of their resorts, it can be just as fun hanging around the back side of the peninsula as going through the park, however if you are looking for cheap - the Best Budget North right across the causeway is dirt cheap, I've gotten a room there as cheap as fifty bucks. -
Sometimes I put headphones in my ear and pretend I don't here them, always works well
-
Perhaps you should get out your own camera and take their picture and try to sell it to them
-
Any chance they could play silence instead, it's a ride not a dance hall

Kings Island's Biggest Hidden Secret
raptor replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
They need a Rock N Roll show -
This was my thought exactly, I really haven't followed the story to know if there are any witnesses, but if there are not than these people could be just trying to make a buck, I'm not saying that's the case, but I have a hard time believing that this happened and no one else would witness it
