'Rock It' will roll'em at Universal Orlando In 2009
The manufacturer was not mentioned in the article. I want Kings Island to get one of those...I realize it is not a hyper, however I am sure Universal will do this the 'right' way, and really all I want is a fun ride! Sounds like Universal will be fit in with Disney on my trip to Orlando in spring '09!

I for one love this idea. A very interesting "think outside the box" technique.

Coney to Add Three new Attractions in 2008
I am torn between wanting the Eagle to be relocated, and let it die with the park that made it famous. Right now, I am honestly leaning towards its final resting place being Lesourdsville Lake.

Favorite Ride
i quite liked Ninja. My sister did not, her and my step-father had to go the the car about two hours before my mother and I left the park as she slammed her head into the side of the restraints and then back into the headrest. I felt really bad for her, her day was ruined, and I'm not sure that she knew exactly where she was. I felt awful because I was the one that wanted to go on Ninja.

K.I. Today
I saw that "closed" sign today as well...It worried me, I was there at almost the same time as you and almost thought that they closed for some reason, until I noticed people were still in the office.

Craziest Amusement Park Stories
Katonga is one of my favorites. I very rarely will let my favorite show be known. Especially as talent for recurring productions changes from year to year and many times week-to-week. Lion King at Animal Kingdom is great. I also like Beauty and The Beast at MGM. Even better than Beauty and The Beast however was the Barbershop Quartet "Four for a dollar" that sang before the show roughly two years ago. Wow could those guys really sing and entertain! I am trying to find a CD of them if anyone can help me out!

Steel Coaster Time at Kings Island?
These polls may not be as scientific as one may hope, polls always have some error. Mitch's poll seems to be fair though, and I would say is a very good indicator of what people out there think regarding roller coasters. If anything, I am sure most of us on here, look at those results and they only confirm what many of us think. It is time to add some signature steel, sometime in the near future. Argue park enthusiasts only follow this sort of thing all you want. But nearly everyone I ever hear talking at an amusement park at one point of time when they get off of a ride will compare it to their favorite at another park. These same people will decide whether to visit the park again or influence other people to come to the park, based upon a deduction of "Is it worth it?". Do they have enough for me to come back, or allow me to tell others to come here. If someone is coming up to visit family in Mason from Tampa, Florida; and they go to Kings Island only to find that not a single roller coaster compared to Kumba or Montu. Or, if they feel that the shows do not compare to the great stage production of Katonga, they will tell their friends they are better off just staying at BGA. This is an extremely simple and glorified model, but it does happen. You want people to enjoy what you have and come back and tell others. This poll no matter how scientific does worry me. It looks like Kings Island still has some building to do! Amusement Parks most certainly are not exempt from the "Quality/price" reasoning found in consumerism. When it comes down to it, they are a product. If the product doesn't satisfy you in some way either as a want or a need, you should not purchase it. I certainly hope Kings Island adds a nice steel coaster in the future, it can only help.

I gotta agree. I am in Economics, and we call this a decision between "Superior" and "Inferior" goods. All things equal there are no good substitutes for Superior goods. Simply put a night at the movies is not like attending Disney, one could argue however that it is almost equal to attending a seasonal park. And it is known, from an ECO side, that cigarette use has a very inelastic demand. As price goes up quantity demanded goes down very little. Sorry for the lesson, but I just had to type all this, this board definitely can help one remember topics discussed in class!

I think that it would be so awesome to have a team sponsored by Kings Island. Probably would never happen, but sure would be cool!

I have been coaching softball (and last years 16yo+ all-star team) in Miamisburg, Ohio. My sister actually decided to play no longer, So I am actively looking for new opportunities. I wanted to run for the board of directors at the local youth league, but alas you must be 21. I had many members ready to bypass that ruling (I have done much work down there from umpiring to coaching) but I decided I had to much on my plate right now so it worked out. My heart and soul is in coaching, I have always loved being able to help teach some life lessons. I need to find someplace (or some team) to coach now. Since I work at Kings Island, I may just put it off for the next couple of years. I could still be an assistant for the next few years though, if anyone needs an assistant, lol. Looks like I will be coaching peewee football next year if all goes well. We shall see, I always end up taking on too many things that I get pleasure out of.
