  1. Robert Reece left the Wilds in April of 2002. Train Driver, as many on here know I have some resources to find people...I have a couple of leads I am following...I will get back to you!
  2. Cedar Fair red ink eases in 4Q http://columbus.bizjournals.com/columbus/s...04/daily31.html
  3. So either they are trying to entice buyers of the stock, by saying, "The dividend isn't going away, in fact, here is more!" Or, they firmly believe that the operating budgets in place currently will in fact work to keep the creditors off their backs. I hope it is the second...
  4. ^yes photobucket is free! Just sign up for an account, and post your photos!
  5. Any idea where we can get that? lol
  6. Someone else will have to answer this for you, It was well before my time. I have heard that people liked to throw pop off the 50' platform, and that was part of the reason for its closure. But I can not say with absolute certainty. Im sure there were a number of reasons.
  7. So wouldn't you want to keep the statement PG rated in line with the rest of the site, I'm sure there are others and younger people on the site who didn't need to read that part you just posted. I felt I kept the statement roughly PG-13, maybe even PG...I used one word to describe the event, a word well within the TOS, unless the mods dictate otherwise. I did not attribute any gore or detailed language other than one simple word. I am sorry if you felt that word should be censored, I did not see it as such. I see no reason to hide the truth of a situation that happened upwards of twenty years ago, when one has implicitly asked about what really happened, and when the response does not contain any extra details than what needed to be stated! If the mods determine my verb usage was not within the standards set forth by areas of this site, I am quite sure I will be made aware of the situation.
  8. Thrill_Biscuit, its OK, everyone is incorrect from time to time. There is not a lot you can find from the news from that time period online, so people are bound to be fuzzy on what really happened. The counterweight of the Eiffel Tower is in a restricted area, lol, thus the restricted area portion. And, yes he did fall, he was very drunk as some reports would have it. It didn't help his cause that he fell through the counterweight cables in the center of the tower, while the elevator was in motion.. Keep in mind, The history section of this site, is only going to say he "fell from the Eiffel Tower" as the statement is "PG rated". What you wont find on the site is that reportedly the teen was actually "shredded" by the counterweight and its cables. That is noticeably more intense in nature!
  9. Um, actually, it was the counterweight that got him. The injuries sustained were due to the counterweight...
  10. I agree with what everyone above me has said. You meet tons of new people, and make many more friends than you could dream about! There are lots of great people at the park!
  11. Congratulations Train Driver! I am so happy for you and your family! Hopefully as he grows up he gets to experience as many memories of Kings Island as you have!
  12. I would like to know when you went to Cedar Point! I went several days in June, and we did nearly every ride in the park in about 8 hours. Those were Tuesdays I believe. TTD had lines about 45 minutes at most all day, it was awesome!

Easy there friend, Son of Beast is very safe! As safe as any other roller coaster at Kings Island. Historically since it had an issue in 2006, you could argue it isn't, but based on ride mechanics and fail-safes and re-engineering of parts of the ride, it is as safe as any other coaster at KI. If it wasn't safe, it would have been removed many moons ago! Son of Beast's rough nature still doesn't compare to the rib-cracking wildcats of times long past! Even being rough does not make it unsafe, uncomfortable maybe, but unsafe? No. Did anyone here ever get to ride the Wildcat at Idora? I have heard that particular coaster, was a pain...
  14. That is really cool to hear how all that comes together. I always loved going to the circus as a younger child. What a great read, thanks Interpreter!
  15. Now, THAT is how to use the search feature! lol
  16. Spectacular Trip Report KI man! Those are just some amazing photographs of the animals. It sounds like you are having a great time there. Thanks so much for sharing with us!
  17. Interpreter, you seem to have a good gauge on these sorts of things so I will ask you... Is the Amusement park industry at current, Disney aside, more or less profitable than the airline industry, and how does this compare to just a few years ago? I am asking because the profitability of airlines has tanked within the last 10 years, and now airlines with just one type of plane rather than multiple offerings, and cheap tickets are creating a niche of their own and bringing the industry back (Jet Blue, Southwest), while Delta and American Airlines continue to struggle with cash flows, due to their overabundance of labor, multiple old plane models, and an old hub and spoke routing system. The point is after a long down turn in the industry, it slowly began to reinvent itself. How far away are the members of the entertainment industry of today from reinventing themselves to this extent, or do they even need to? Anyone with some knowledge of this, please chime in...!
  18. ^ C'mon coach Bombay you should know better than anyone being a coach and all that, If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'! In all seriousness though, Belicheck shouldn't have video taped that game. But stealing signs has been around sports forever. I played Baseball, and I had the ability to usually know what the other teams pick-off sign was before I ever got to first base, that's an edge in the game that you can't buy. It is kind of why dummy signs even exist on the sidelines. But, the only reason I am rooting for the Patriots: Tom Brady, he went from 7th round nobody heard of him draft pick, to Drew Bledsoe's injury replacement, to starter, to superstar. He worked hard and I admire that. I dont really feel tied to either team though!
  19. She picked the Patriots to win, thats one smart elephant!
  20. I agree with the coach. I have always been a fan of the train, especially when the theming still had windows in one piece. All I can say is "Highball!" Some of you may or may not understand that, no, it isn't a reference to the drink...
  21. Psychologically, names represent an identity. I certainly would feel changed if I lost my first name, and had it changed. I have in a way become what my name represents, that is for you all to decide who I am and how it associates with my name, but I associate what I have done in my life, and how peope view me by how much respect my name (a symbol of who I am and what I've done) achieves.
  22. ^Top Guns sign is at the front of the queue right out by Son of Beast's sign! And yes, I have heard Monster called octopus as well, but usually I hear spider, not sure why, but thats what Ive mostly heard!
  23. I agree with you completely, It is very seldom when either visiting or working at the park that I ever hear a guest call a ride by its given name. They always want to know what the grey and red one is. Or where they can find The Racer(s). Of course Monster is almost always the spider, and Vortex is usually "that one" (points to the sky above BSC's plaza).
  24. OMG, I absolutely LOVE this logo!
