I apologize for double-posting, however, I deemed this post to be worthy of a standalone reference from the post before it. As Ronny requested here is a documentary with some references to what I mentioned previously There is an excellent documentary out about Walt Disney's life and the history of the Disney company. The Documentary was made in 1995 and produced by Channel four across the pond. The title of the documentary is Secret Lives Walt Disney. The documentary explores the darker side of Disney's persona. The documentary includes artists Bill Melendez, David Hilberman, Mary Eastman, Bill Hurtz, Marie Beardsley, and Bill Littlejohn, screenwriter Joan Scott, and biographers Marc Eliot, Richard Schickel, and Bob Thomas. I encourage all who watches this to please keep an open mind to the times while they do, but also encourage you to take a look at some things you may have not known prior to watching the Documentary. It is approximately an hour long, but is WELL worth the watch! The parts of the Documentary are in sequential order!

What an inspirational story, thanks for sharing BrownTggrr. There are deffinately things that us young people can learn from those who have seen tougher times than those of today, and made their own contributions to the world amidst change and hardship. Especially in the case of this story, hardwork is definitely a lesson. For those that do not know much about the Disney company pre 1970, it was EXTREMELY hard for a female to be taken seriously and given any job other than as an inker. The fact that she made a name for herself within the Disney company, speaks volumes to me personally as an intense follower of all things Disney. Just, what a marvelous story and seemingly fiitting tribute. Just, as a note to those on here younger than me: there are so many opportunities for us all to learn new things and become better well rounded people in this life, and we only get one chance. When stuff is posted on here, take the time to read it, understand it, criticize what you read for what it is worth and try to take something away from it. There are just so many great things that you can learn if you just read!

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident

This just keeps making me even more, sick, to read about. A couple of feet away from the E-stop?!? Are you serious? That is ARM length! How did she get so far from it. And, what really gets me, is what did the other ride associate on the ride at the time hear? Did he/she not hear the snap? Its just an odd story as these depositions come about. The activities described should NEVER occur. They arent even worst case scenarios, they just should not happen. Its kind of like basic Military decision making, you don't think, you act according to protocol. In this case that would constitute probably hitting the E-stop for such an awkward sound, immediately. And of course positioning yourself close enough to the panel for all scenarios. Note: No disrespect meant for anyone here currently in the military. I do recognize that certain situations when in the military demand a more subjective approach! -

Could not reach the E-stop?? That doesn't sound kosher. How do you not reach the big red button on the panel? -
Something similar happened while I was at the Columbus Zoo in 6th grade for a Boy scout overnight at the zoo. It was about midnight, and we were getting ready to do a nature walk to some of the conservation offices on the other side of the zoo, and we recieved word that we could not go out yet, due to a snow leopard climbing out and over its fencing. They contained the snow leopard, put it back in its enclosure, and we were able to go about the rest of our business. The issue has since been rectified.

Ah, but once you returned to the country, and had access to the forum to post, you did have access to the search feature! (I had to )

Thats pretty much it, its a little out of the way of the main midway. Naturally you are going to have a long line. I know I always liked walking back there to look at the airplane models along the walkway.

Cedar Point sticks with Snoopy
Cory Butcher replied to UncleHenry's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I do not think so, Our kids area is absolutely inundated with fun rides for kids as well as the whole family. I think we could lose the great Nick theming replaced with something which may be slightly less known (which is up for debate) and still be ok, due to the sheer size of our kids area! -
So Tuskin, you would prefer natural colors? I too feel that would be the best way to go in Rivertown. Keep it rustic, keep it low key.

Most of us want to get rid of the big box that encloses Tomb Raider, you want to make another one? For Italian Job? Right behind the Eiffel Tower?

Every comment made by a moderator has been a last effort attempt to refine the activity of a forum member or member(s) in your case since you have joined his ranks. You are the only person on here, I'm sure, who disagreed with the way the situation was handled, and you yourself have proven to have extremely poor judgement in your forum activity, so Im not sure anyone looks towards your comments with anything more than a grain of salt and a bitten tongue. Also, the fun involved? You have single handedly removed the fun in multiple threads by bringing us off topic on your own personal rants, where you seem to endlessly enjoy watching yourself type. Also, there are thousands of members on this forum which embrace the fun involved and continue to fund the fun through their intricate, well thought out and amusing posts. Thankfully, most of which have not been destroyed with your useless banter, which in so many cases has nothing to do with the topic at hand; where the fun of it all, or information of certain topics is being discussed and being trampled by your mindless attempts to exert your uninformed expertise on other members. Please stop your entirely useless banter, and many members will cease to curb the right for you to have "fun". As you must understand, members and moderators of this forum are trying to keep all parties productive, informed, and happy.

The moderators on this site are friendlier to its members than many many other forums out there. Our moderators have bent over backwards for us to get this site so closely linked to the park. You should appreciate that. Also, the moderator's jobs are to moderate senseless comments like those that YOU continue to make!

Geauga Lake Sells All Their Rides...

He has gone further back pedaling than he ever did going forward with his nonsensical ideas. -
I agree, I would even say that the colors of Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City would look nice in Rivertown,It is kind of a rustic orange and creme (although in the photo it looks like navajo white, what you think? Note: I did not take this photo, photo credit to Jan Olejnik at RCDB.

SFOT now selling beer...
Cory Butcher replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Without getting into details, I must state that alcohol use at Kings Island has made for some laughs, confusion and some behavioral issues among some patrons. The issue is not overwhelmingly dissatisfactory and incidents is a strong un-detailed word, but when working and visiting I have seen a few. Now mark that I have not seen any drawn out fisticuffs, I have seen no man so intoxicated to get into a brawl. It certainly is an interesting situation though. I as much as I do not agree with alcohol use, do not believe that it is a bad thing at parks. It is controlled well at KI, and Im sure would be at these other places. Also for many people coming to the park after a bad day at work, I'm sure alcohol and rides becomes their muse, which is certainly better than two people going at it because they have had bad days. The one component of alcohol seems to be obscenities, I have seen some ranting drunks at BGA. -
First off, this doesnt suprise me. I have been to every Dixie Stampede in the USA many of them twice or more. It is a family tradition to go during every vacation to the DS in the area. Having said that, The Orlando location is a great location for an attraction or other facility in the area so it would seem to reason thata nice price was paid for the area. I also want people to know that my family having visited all of the stampedes, thought that Orlando's was the least favorable of them all. And, we had the least trouble of all the stampedes trying to secure tickets, take that for what its worth or figure out where I am coming from. I deffinately think that the Stampede will be relocated to another area in Florida as it is a prime area for that sort of attraction. I just hope the new location provides a little better experience than the current one.
