You, my friend, really need to take a chill pill and quit moderating and belittling. I'm sure it is a putoff to most of us on this board. You are constantly stating your opinions on matters that you know nothing about, or making claims about places that you have never visited. It is getting old real quick. Moderators and others, sorry for stepping on toes, but this is rediculous.

I know, I saw it on the news, That was terrible. It is cruel to keep animals locked up like that and when they get out we treat it like they've gone Loco! Locked up like that? you know most animals in Zoos are there for conservation purposes right? In many cases the animals simply couldn't live in the wild because of some sort of injury or the like. Just so you know many animals in captivity, especially those at the Columbus Zoo, probably live a better more substantial life than you do! It does sound as the tiger was taunted and used its inate animal instincts in the situation. I'm pretty sure that noone is calling the tiger loco, the person that taunted the animal however, well I cant speak on their behalf, sounds like they got their reward.

HAHA, isn't that the truth! I think its funny that he aways states that he 'found' an article. I would so claim credit for how well he writes.

That's nice, thanks for announcing it to the group. Afterall the first step is admitting your problem lol

So that was why my legs were hurting? I thought I was sitting wrong or something, I thought vessels in my legs were blowing.

Ah, street performers; one of the great things about MGM is all of the entertainment possibilities. I would love to see a park with street entertainment a little closer to home. Maybe someday.

The company may be having some murky waters right now, but Shapiro certainly comes off to me as an impressive, straighforward thinker. I admire that in the limited times I have read or heard about him. He seems to not be hesitant when talking of downfalls, and yet progressive and positive when speaking of his current plans.

Led Zeppelin testing video

yeah I don't really see boring when I look at the coaster. I see speed and inversions, cloning aside, I hope to ride it someday. It looks like a thrill ride to me! -
The largest zoo currently is the San Diego Zoo. Something people actually don't know is that Jack Hannah has emeritus status. He was ousted from Executive Director back in the early 90's when there was a large fallout. He wanted to take the Zoo in the direction that it is finally going in, years ago! In an effort not to mislead I should note however that part of Hannah's decision to step down and into an emeritus role was indeed due to his many on-camera pursuits and marketing endeavors for the park. He felt that this would best allow the zoo to function while he was away. This was also a reason why the local newspaper at the time was asking for Jack Hannah to step down from the Executive Director's post as well.

No, they are from the Columbus Zoo! (Which is going to be the largest zoo in the country after Polar Frontier is completed, it is the second largest right now).

Here are a few of my favorites, taken from a different sort of entertainment. These were taken at the Columbus Zoo! I hope you like them. This Bengal Tiger was just begging for attention! Summer is a time for families to come together! So cuddly! Obviously I love animals, and here is probably my favorite picture of 2007...

Does this pic have to be of Kings Island? Believe it or not, the only Park pics I took of this year were of Silver Dollar City and The Colubus Zoo!

That is something very hard to market to the public. The minute you say we changed the restraints, people think there was a problem beforehand. That's not neccesarily good pub. Not to mention the way you are held in a car usually has little to do with whether people will take their first ride on a coaster. For me, the only ride Ive ever been on that I said, wow these restraints need to change or I'm not sure I will be riding much more is Maverick and its god-awful restraints. They could have made better OTSR's out of popsicle sticks!

Upstop, failure can lead to success. A mistake can tell a man more about himself than anything that just goes right all the time. I have a good quote for you from Michael Jordan, "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. " Michael Jordan Life is about making mistakes and seeing what you can do with them. Hopefully we shall se a great new era at the Cedar Fair parks!

I dont think that its that, neccesarily. Allow me to dive further into this... Kinzel stated a while ago that Paramount parks have up to 40% of their incoming ticket revenue from season passes, while the Cedar Fair Legacy park's season pass sales equate to roughly 10% of attendance. Passes at 84 dollars when used for just two visits makes each visit 42 dollars. In addition to that anyone that goes just four times with that pass only pays 21 dollars to visit the park. Assuming that number (4 visits), revenue wise, KI makes roughly 27 dollars less than Dollywood (price per ticket: $48) per admission (who assumingly has more of their admissions due to ticket sales, not pass sales than Kings Island). Now Dollywood sells passes for around 75 dollars (Gold Pass is 106 dollars), Their number of season passes sold, I would assume is far from the number sold at the Paramount parks, due to its resort like destination much like our own Cedar Point. This means that Dollywood is still getting a premium on ticket revenue for each guest through their turnstiles of $48/ticket sans discounts. PP's according to Kinzel then would have roughly 60% of revenue from ticket sales, and sells tickets at around $42 ($30 if you buy on line in 2006). Best case scenario then, Dollywood makes at least $6 more per admission than Kings Island does per regular ticket sale. You can easily see here, that Dollywood achieves a premium on their ticket sales, while Kings Island basically recieves scraps. Not to mention Ticket Sales is just one revenue account for both parks. Now, not to scare anyone, but think of all the people on here that purchased a season pass and went to the park more than 10 times, thats a little over 8 dollars a visit, far from the premium recieved at Dollywood! Where did all the theming go? Well I have a feeling it went to Dollywood and their premium revenue flow from ticket sales, along with their vacation destination area. I will be the last person to influence an argument that states that Kings Island simply can't afford to maintain theming, because if there is a will, there is a way. However, I can not argue that in the current model there does not seem to be much feasability in maintaining the theming. What Cedar Fair will do though, remains to be seen, I hope they integrate a better model into the park so that we can have our theming, and ride it too!

Man Dies On Expedition Everest
Cory Butcher replied to Beast08's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Im not completely sure that was humor either way, the article mentions the man was concious during the onride photo, he would have had to have more than his eyes open to come to that conclusion. He very well could have smiled. -
'Paramount' Removed from Parking lot sign
Cory Butcher replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Neon, they have kept the bases of the signs the same way as they were under paramount with the exception of repainting them. Wonderland's sign sans CF logo has always had those four orbs that you refer to, and Dominions sign has not. It will be interesting to see what KI's top with base looks like. -
Man Dies On Expedition Everest
Cory Butcher replied to Beast08's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It is currently not known what killed the man, that is still under investigation, no one will know until an autopsy is performed on the man. Neon, you picked quite an awkward time to go off topic. You waste time to copyright anything that you dont want others to reproduce and benifit from, as simple as that. Also more than likely that copyright applies to the whole website/news agency and any articles/info therein.
