Update: New Names for KD Attractions Announced
Yeah, supposedly there is one out behind the train and WWC, behind the housing that buts up to the property by the high tension lines on the south side of the park. An Indian burial ground supposedly. If this is true or not I don't know, but hey thats what makes it interesting, and I dont believe it anyways.

parking lot construction
I think that if we do ever see a parking garage...or more regular spaces at that, they will not be put out front of the park where the current parking is now, but rather off to the side of the park...or behind it... There sure would be an aweful lot of flat "dont have to do much with it" land out front of the park to expand on.

Kennywood Sold to Spanish Firm
Minus the not-so-nice tone of your post, what you say makese sense, but there is really no reason to be this worked up about it. This isn't comparable to the plant relocation efforts that are going on now in the labor market. They aren't moving Kennywood to Spain. It is staying right where it is to offer employment to the people of Pittsburgh, sponsor events in the community, and provide entertainment to the american people. If this company can invest money to make Kennywood bigger and better, why not let them. I disagree: where you say he "makes sense", because he doesn't I agree: With everything else that you said! I've personally always thought that having a wonderful global economy would help us both foreign and domestically.

Columbus Zoo Posts Zoombezi Bay Info
Um...what? The Columbus Zoo is getting a new waterpark and a small traditional dry park with flat rides to entertain a family. If you don't like getting wet just go to the zoo, or stay in the drypark! I personally think that the Zoo needs less animals, cuz I dont know about you guys, but I cant stand animal noises! Are you serious? Are you honestly saying that you hope a zoo, let me clarify that again, a ZOO, needs less animals? The definition of a zoo is a place with animals, how can you say that a zoo needs less animals, that's one of the most insane things I've ever heard. It's like saying a candy store has too much candy or a forest has too many trees. On another note the water park and dry park will be seperated from the actual area where the animals are kept, so if you actually dislike animals you don't have to see them to go to the amusement side. You REALLY need to go back and read the posts before that...nothing about my post was even remotely serious and was posted over 4 months ago. Their was sarcasm bleading out the wazzoo on that post. The guy said that he didn't want a water ride added cuz he doesnt like water, I stated that the zoo needs less animals because I dont like animal noises (which is of course NOT true...I bet I love the COL Zoo more than anyone here...just ask Tycoonrebel) So it was SARCASM!!! And, notice the unsure smiley at the end of that statement. Please read all the posts and understand them before you dismantle someone! Italian Chef, all I can say is wow! It sure is hard to judge the context of ones post when you take it at face value...3 months later!

Tomb Raider to be removed?
I really like that sky dive idea posted earlier, Kings Island, in my opinion, could use something so...colorful and fun.

Update on the former Lion Country Safari Monorail
I found this if anyone wants to read it, its from 1989. A news article about Kings Island in the New York Times. It talks a little about taking a ride on the WAH! http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...75BC0A96F948260

'Paramount' Removed from Parking lot sign
well, heck, there goes the imagination of what Kings Island's will look like. It's truly great not knowing what will happen at our park till something happens at another one!

Kennywood Sold to Spanish Firm
I don't think that you all have anything to worry about. Parques Reunidos has had quite a bit of experience running their own parks with over 61 amusement and entertainment locales under their belt. Also they have something like 570 Million dollars in Revenue, so they will be able to keep cash flowing in and out of Kennywood. Also keep in mind that they are keeping the management team, which most of us have not seen in a takeover. I personally havent seen an aquisition where management or at least quite a bit of management didnt change, but maybe I havent been looking hard enough. I think Kennywood will be just fine, possibly better! For easy navigating to those who havent seen it yet here is the press release: http://www.kennywood.com/docs/12.11.07KECN...pterRelease.pdf

SOB Strategies
I think you are wrong there, I dont think we are dealing with a majority either...but rather a plurality between love/hate/neither. Also I would say the amount of people that like SOB is actually much higher than you think. Like Ryan said things aren't always as they appear. For those of you that went to Barebones nights and think about how much it failed because it looked like noone was in the park, people were deffinately in the park, not a whole lot obviously, but yes, they did come, and it was quite succesful. And those people that came and had short lines and a very low price, the majority of them, are coming back!

Abandoned amusement parks. International Edition.
Those are NOT safari trains. The old safari trains are on site at Jungle Jims in Fairfield, Ohio. Those trains that you see are the old parking lot trams, and they may well not be there for long, Cedar Fair likes to keep things clean!

Abandoned amusement parks. International Edition.
Funny you mentioning that. Everyday that I went in to work at the park, I couln't help but look around at the deserted park and just visualize overgrown weeds peeking through the paths, and paint peeling everywhere, and trees just popping up everywhere. Really the best place that I would notice this too, is at IJ. when I look at the ride from the plaza, I can't help but see Italian Job where it currently sits with a view of the Tiques at the same angle layered utop of it. You know the trees and flowers everywhere, mixed in with the ride, and you have a defunct visualization of IJ, add peeling paint and voaila. Its an eary idea, I know, but I just had this visualization almost everytime I went into work. We've all ridden The Beast, could you imagine just walking into this overgrown Beast station, with trees peaking through the track at both ends of the station, and so much growth between the exit of the station and the lift that you can't see the other side of the turnaround? I hope KI never gets that way...

Abandoned amusement parks. International Edition.
I don't like to see abandoned parks either. However, I love to follow abandoned places and SBNO parks. I think it is just so mysterious that human nature leads great things to become so forgotten, and that is what makes me relish forgotten places. Its like you can see the memories and faded patrons just hanging over the photographs.

Geauga Lake Sets Steep Price For Rides
So um, this is deffinately going in my grandparents back field. I do happen to know a family member who has a 75,000 dollar limit of credit on their card...I'll have to look into exploiting them....I mean pleading with them, lol!

Grain of Salt Removal Rumor
That is a good idea. I have personally thought that Timberwolf could be used to house another show/musical revue during Haunt. It would be an excelent stage for a show the magnitude of say Bill and Teds at Universal. Even though I dont particularly like The attractions at theme parks around Halloween, I thought Bill and Teds was easily the 2nd best show I had ever seen in a theme park and would have paid HHN admission just to see it. I thought it was really that good! I would gladly pay upcharge admission for a haunt event at Kings Island if they added another grand musical revue show or comedy routine. For anyone wondering, here is the list of my favorite shows of all time at any themepark (live action). In no particular order, although ordered! 1. Fantasmic - Walt Disney World (after hours celebration) 2. Bill and Teds Excellent Halloween adventure - Universal Studios 3. Beauty and The Beast- WDW Disney Studios 4. Beatle Juices Graveyard Revue- Universal Studios 5. Dr Fright's Dead mans Party- SFOG 6. Katonga- Busch Gardens Africa 7-20. Too dang many to name, I love my shows! Three of those shows are Halloween shows, it certainly is a draw for me, And I would like to see one more haunted show at KI!

Carowinds is offering free admission to Scarowinds
wow Interpreter, in these last few posts that youve made, you have called out quite a few people on not knowing for sure what is going on with the park. Even though they may be in a good position to do so...like Mr. Kinzel for instance. What gives? Its like there is something going on that you know about, that you dont want to share yourself, lol. So defensive of a planless position as of late.
