  1. But see the problem that DisneQwest encountered, was people like myself not willing to pay the money to enjoy it or the time, when there was other things in Downtown Disney that we wanted to do, and when we wanted to spend time in the actual parks. It really suffered from being to close to a Disney park, not neccesarily because it wouldnt work.
  2. I liked that story about the hotels, it kind of struck a cord with my personal experiences. Two years ago The ISOTECH chemical plant in Miamisburg Ohio blew up. It blew up about 9AM and my family was getting ready to go to Cleveland to visit relatives, we had construction across the street at the time, and thought the extremely loud burst was just a backhoe slamming the groud with the loader or something related to the work done across the street. Anyways we go to Cleveland and on our way back our radio station finally goes back to the local one and they release a news story that the Isotech plant experienced an explosion and all of my community in the surrounding area was forced to evactuate. We live less than a 1/3 of a mile from the plant, now the street that I live on was litteraly the eveacuation line. The other side of my street was told to leave and my side was allowed to stay. Well, there was just this dense smoke hanging over the area, we chose to leave, so we told the police at the entrance of my street our story and he let us enter our house to get our animals. We took 8 minutes gathering clothes and capturing the animals and left to find a hotel. Anyways we had lived in Fairborn before and knew that was our best chance at finding a hotel, so we took off on the thirty minute drive with my mom, my sister and I, two cats and a Golden Retriever all piled into a Nissan Sentra. We were able to secure a couple nights in the Red Roof Inn and since they had heard about the story they gave us 70% off and waived the no pets policy and pet fee. We were so greatful, we had no idea if we would find a hotel that would take all our animals or actually have rooms available at all. The situation is somewhat similar!
  3. I see what you mean, I also hope there is some goodwill in the new plans not just another "church goes berserk and instead of opening a christmas soup kitchen opens a hotel and waterpark". On a side note, we have big butter jesus, is a Moses made of cheese in the plans?
  4. ^Exactly what Ronny said. I'm sorry that you had an unpleasant experience at the park Skjackson. I, like Gordon Bombay and TycoonRebel and many others read exactly what you said not what we interpreted you said, unlike others in this forum. Hopefully on your visit next year you will find that the crowd control is more...um...controlled! Personally, I dont have a problem with you listing your credentials as they were. I am glad that you feel proud to be in either of those organizations. And since your opinion stated that your well traveledness was credential enough to have an opinion in comparison on the matter of crowd control at parks, I feel like many others you were in full right to list those credentials that make you well traveled. It is too bad people dont understand what was said when they read a material. In any case, noone here could have expected the type of crowd there was this past weekend at the park unless they had a crystal ball. For those who havent been going, Saturday was the most packed event at Kings Island that I personally had ever witnessed!
  5. YES! You especially have to of loved his performance in Hornets on the Eiffel Tower! There are mutha ****in' bees on this mutha ****in' Tower...well wait actually that one hasn't been made yet, but the ride has! HAHA
  6. I think that I would like to see a ride themed to nothing but snakes! (Inside joke with a member that posted above me) Snakes hanging from rafters, a vehicle shaped like a snake...everything snakes!
  7. I can confirm that I believe that Cedar Point will not be building on the lake in the near future!
  8. whoaaaa signs, signs, everywhere a sign blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind do this, don't do that. can't you read the signs?
  9. Yeah everything in our life is seemingly free market. You have to sell yourself, the trick is to not spend too much time or money on advertising. And, if you do, to make sure that your viewpoints are actually something people are ready for or understanding of.
  10. Reputable...or refutable? As always im kidding Interpreter, If anyone on here deserves to describe themselves as that, it is indeed you!
  11. Ah, no truthiness just truth, Im breathing it in real deep and it smells great! I love the fact that they called it what they wanted.

  14. Wait we didnt get X-Flight? What the heck did we get then? It sure as hell doesnt look like a Zamperla Flyer.
  15. Beast will be up...Beast is always up, IJ will be up, you should go, many things will be open. Besides there shouldnt be many lines, and a very fun time if you have a pass! Besides dont miss your last chance to walk the park and take in the sounds before she goes dormant for the year!
  16. Um Ronny, Wikipedia? Now thats a scholarly source Actually if any of you can believe it, I am fairly sure that I am the first college student to ever get an A when mentioning Wikipedia in a scholarly article! Well...I guess my article was about Wikipedia...lol
  17. Yeah, thanks for the catch CarrieR, I forgot about Scrambler being dismantled for the season.
  18. In the amusement park business or any larger business for that matter, money is not hard to find...it is on the other hand...very hard to pay back! The question is not do they have it, it is not even can they get it; the question would be, is aquiring that sort of cash and debt load worth the hassle? Unless of course they do have that cash on hand! Post #700!
  19. ^That is wrong, everything is open except for HH attractions, Congo Falls, WWC and TR:TR. Everything else should be running!

    right, it becomes "Silly Season"
  21. Everything about Thiller is great, I think most would agree that it is a true GOOD NATURED yet chilling song from the creepy voiceover to sound effects to the great vocals. Also, Michael Jackson is one of my favorite singers of all time. Alas, Thriller holds a very special place in my memories. A few years ago it was about 11:30 and I was going for a night ride on The Beast during the last time I was at Fear Fest, and the music video came over the TV's...EVERYONE in the line turned and were absolutely glued to the TV. Especially those in the 30yr crowd, and it was awesome to see people start howling and dancing in the queue line, it was just one of those special chills down your arms moments that I will forever cherish! Also Thriller is one of the first CD's that I ever owned...even 12 years after its original release!
  22. I am still waiting to hear "Thriller" in the park.
  23. I just have a question, if something has many people that are fine with it, and many people opposed to it, how does it become obviously offensive? Do we use the idea of "Greater Good" Are we determining this by a plurality or a majority? Do famous people get a more impactful vote? The soldier idea was mentioned above, honestly so far thats the most convincing point ive seen on here...I now have no idea how I feel. That is probably why it was left off the prop! I for one do have a greater patriotic sense in me than any sense for an actor who quite frankly chose to act with the pressures it involves and the limelight and decided to off himself, to me it is less sympathy and more what was he thinking? I am an honest person, what a boneheaded idea...where was Terrel Owens on the list? It is amazing to me though how so many satirists still have jobs, especially those who have made a living of laughing at the intracacies of the present. First we have to analyze the idea of Owen Being singled out for such a misfortunate set of circumstances. In a perfect world, I wish people weren't offended by anything, personally I've always made a point to tell people exactly how I feel, but some are. In the case of Owen why? Because he commited suicide which is no laughing matter? what makes that feeling so strong? If he made a decision why cant that decision have repercussions that others may find offensive, on the other hand why can't he be let to live a peaceful life with no teasing or halloween props at all? Electric Chairs are a common theme around Halloween, why arent any of these people against the death penalty proclaiming this not a part of Halloween. I witnessed a friend of mine run his hand through a table saw in woodshop two years ago, saw the pieces laying on the saw, it made me puke, why are these things laying around in Halloween? Should I not find them funny? I put my indifference aside and say this is tradition. Its kinda nasty to me cuz I would never want the same experience. That is why its part of halloween, its your worst fear (mine), idea, or even funny in a sick and twisted demented way. And, like you Ryan when the park gave the disclaimer, I listened. I will be visiting HH eventually, however other than working I dont go...I hate Halloween. Other than the candy, I dont like the idea of seeing such gruesome things, mainly because I can imagine what it would be like to have some serial killer with a chainsaw come after me, and dont want any part of a pretend version. Now if somebody said I really want to go to Haunt will you go, I would certainly oblige...if they insist strongly enough! I went to HHN last year and hated it, my favorite thing was Bill and Ted's which was crude and hilarious. I do need to walk around the park this year during HHN and see some of the more hysterical things around the park, sounds like I would enjoy some things. Sorry for the ranting the human psychology of things has always astounded me. I just find it shocking that ideas are so innately different.
  24. Usually Indoor rides will only shutdown during weather if the exit becomes clogged with patrons. This is typically the policy all throughout the nation. Its kind of a fire code type thing, among others!
  25. Yeah last time I checked ride inspectors didn't get into personal hygiene matters. I still cant believe the operators were that incompetant though...just astounding.
