Tulsa State Fair Wildcat Accident
You know I have generally found too that the more attractive employees working, the safer the ride is. Yeah I agree, if you don't care/know how to take a shower, you probably wont care/know how to run a ride. Thats one decent thing about Kissel Bros. Mama Kissel forces every one of her crew to take a shower. More than can be said for others! Cough...Durant...cough

The Dark Knight (coming to GADv, SFGAm and SFNE)
You guys didn't hear about the new roller coaster Medussa coming to SFGADV? Oh my gosh, I can't believe that you two, of all people, wouldn't read the press release! HAHA

Fahrenheit- New at Hersheypark
I don't believe that is the conclusion that is being drawn here though. The parallels being drawn between the two rides has to do with the idea that both are of the new era in coaster design. The fact of the matter is that both rides will feature this new idea of compact high thrill layout, with more than vertical descent and extraordinary air time mixed with first of their kind design elements, and periods of above average velocity. Not to mention the braking technology, ride manufacturing, operation procedure, and track style will be very much the same. On a more micro-intamate ride-to-ride comparison there are many more differences past first glance, as you mention, however on a Macro genre-to-genre level both coasters will be quite similar!

Cedar Fair Throws in the Beach Towel...
I completely agree, all word of mouth is a very loud part. But, enthusiasts are just that...enthusiastic. An enthusiast can talk an attraction up to friends and family sometimes in more detail and better context than a 30 second video clip. I mean technically the only reasons for employees to be nice to park guests is to keep them coming back, and get some word of mouth. That's what it boils down to, so why not try to impress every group that you can, and hope they all come together in positive harmony? A very important person at Kings Island has always said that it's a good thing that you [members of KIC] complain about stuff... it means you care. WOW, isn't that the truth. I wish I knew who may have said that, because I would love to shake their hand. Having read that, it brought a smile to my face, as that is how I have always felt about things. That person seems to understand people, and that's always a good thing. Thanks for bringing that bit of infinite wisdom to this board Ryan, its the kind of statement that really shows understanding and thoughfulness!

Orange&Yellow rail track heading North on 275
And...I still do not understand Cedar Fair's infatuation with building Roller Coaster stations up 50 feet above ground! Well, I see somewhat how it is adventageous, but I walked right up to Montu's station, and had to hike a mile to get to Raptors. Its just hard for me to understand, why every coaster they build has to start off 30+feet above ground!

Save The Big Dipper!
Well JZarley, The Columbus Zoo is all about preservation. I think most of us can agree that like Disney, when they do something, it's typically done right!

check this out
And, I wonder why Arrow coasters have never had their brakes replaced to the fail-safe method of closed brakes with a loss of air pressure. It seems that would be a pretty nice upgrade to have!

Fahrenheit- New at Hersheypark
I will sacrifice my time for a good ride any day (within reason)! That sounds pretty awesome, I would be up for something like that! It astounds me even that people are so up on Behemoth. I have heard so many complaints recently about how Magnum is just a big uncomfortable out and back with nothing but hops, and then a bigger one just gets built at CW and everyone is "ooohh, I want that, I want Behemoth!" Please, I will take elements over speed any day, now air-time is great, but only when not uncomfortable. Hopefully Behemoth is more comfortable than Magnum then maybe Ill jump on the bandwagon. Just goes to show though that the public will go for anything new. As for this Fahrenheit ride, seems to incorporate everything great that Maverick has, air time and elements...now that is what KI needs!

Dismantling Geauga Lake...
yes...I rode in both front and back, and appreciated the front's handling of the elements, however the back was quite intense with the air time especially just after the end of the "lift". I still prefered the front though, kept most of the intensity of the back but deffinately handled the twisted horseshoe better!

Dismantling Geauga Lake...
I agree with the sentiment but disagree with the thought! Many coasters just reach the 110 mark, especially wood Coasters and many suspended/inverted steelies. I'm not to sure that is as sad a day as you state. Remember, even though Beast's drop is 140...its lift is only 110! Along with Gwazi my favorite Woody, and a heck of a lot taller than Blue Streak my second favorite at 78.

What Happens During the Off-Season?
? Who is Cory Butcher? I am a new poster here, but I can assure you Im not him (if you dont believe me, I use the same handle on Coasterbuzz and Pointbuzz.) I just felt I needed to plug BGE, because as a whole people don't really know about it and in my opinion is the best theme park north of Orlando. That said, I love KI too, it comes in as my second favorite theme park not in Florida and Im ecstatic to now live close enough to have it be a day trip for me. I also cant wait to experience the haunt in a month. HAHAHA, yeah deff not me. I still use my name on here, just havent been on in a while. I just havent got on much.

Dollywood Owner may Purchase Newport Aquarium
My terminology was off, HFE is the "Operating Partner" as The Interpreter put it. However, the experience of Silver Dollar City and Ride the Ducks and CC and other attractions of theirs DO HAVE noticeable differences from Dollywood and Dixie Stampede. Not only did everyone in my family find these differences but others I have talked to as well have seen a difference! Now it could be complete coincidence however, I feel that if you look at the capital improvements over the last 20 years for both parks, as well as the attendance growth and other guest experiences you will see that there can be distinct differences between What is owned by HFE and what is owned by the DollyWood Company! Read as well: as many here have stated, DollyWood was the ugly duckling before Dolly came on in 1986! And DollyWood is owned officially by the DollyWood Company not by HFE, and I would think that would account for some difference from HFE's other holdings. Also though It has not been expressly written anywhere it is presumed that Dolly parton is the major shareholder in Dollywood Company who is partnered with HFE and owns Dollywood! Silver Dollar city has become in my eyes and many others an experience far different than what it should be from employees using cell phones all over the place (in one instance my Grandpa took a picture of Granny from the Lye Soap booth using her cellphone, it was quite funny!) Not to mention the park was quite unclean with litter forming in many spots. One thing I like about KI is that you can see exactly who is ECO and be able to find a yellow shirt if you have a question. Trying to find an employee to answer a question at SDC is like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Also, during the lightest of rain, EVERY outdoor attraction and show not under a shelter is shutdown until the storm moves 9 miles out of the area! I and many others have experienced none of this at Dollywood or insignificant service at any Dixie Stampede, and we have been to every location at least once!

Dollywood Owner may Purchase Newport Aquarium
No, No, and please God no! Cheers to that! No, this can't happen and shouldn't happen. Kings Island is too good for HFE No, It wouldnt be. Dollywood Is purely managed by HFE, it is not owned by HFE, but rather owned by Dolly Parton, and all major decisions although managed by HFE do go by Dolly Parton! Which is why DollyWood and the Dixie Stampede attractions have not gone the way of Celebration city of Silver Dollar City. Now I will agree with you that if Dolly owned and HFE managed that KI could be a great park...but I like it the way it is now! But that's not being discussed, whats being discussed is if HFE should buy KI, and more on topic if they should buy the Newport Aquarium...and the answer on my end is that they shouldn't! I know that I should've posted my trip report of my vacation to several other HFE attractions, so you all know what I experienced but I decided it wasnt worth the effort. HFE is not a good fit for Kings Island. People need to remember that Dollywood is not purely owned by HFE but is managed by them, so although they do have managerial say regarding hires, and new rides and layout and all that, Dolly Parton and her company are the ones that actually finance the park beyond fiscal receipts. Thank God to, because if she wasnt there I fear Dolly wood would turn out alot like Silver Dollar City! Which in my eyes was not up to par.

ATTENTION! : Son Of Beast Riders!
haha, I would very much like to ride Goliath, I havent as of yet! lol But dont worry although I found THE Georgia Cyclone to be fairly rough, it does have its fans, and I respect that, and would eventually like to ride it again if ever I have the chance!

ATTENTION! : Son Of Beast Riders!
I couldn't disagree more! What about Racer, The Beast?? Ready to give them the match huh? You better start running when Don Helbig comes after you Although Im with you, if you want to torch the Georgia Cyclone! [i am currently running for my life because The Interpreter is chacing me with a chain saw, lol] On a side note Tips are never *needed* but quite welcome to get the most fantastic superb ride youve ever had on a coaster!

New World Record
I personally would like to marathon Blue Streak...it is perhaps close to my favorite ride at CP...my friend and I rode it 22 times in two days and 13 times straight one day! It was a blast, I love its airtime!

cobra
You know what? Mantis was the only one that didn't bother me...and I think the inversions actually get some of the pressure off the discs in my back...I enjoyed it personally Did you lock your knees by chance? Slight bend works best..but stand ups are not for everyone. Im not sure, but when you have to have your legs completely stretched out and behind that tape, your knees do end up closed if not locked. I found that when I *accidentaly* lifted my feet off the floor because of the pain in my legs, that there was no pain, I just cannot figure out why a stand-up would hurt you to stand-up. Is there a possibility that I was sitting too much on the bicycle seat with not enuff pressure on my legs? or standing on my legs more than sitting on the seat? or had my legs too outstretched? Or to bent? Does anyone else have any ideas? I would like to ride it at least once more with no pain in my legs!
