  1. Well, there is a decent picture of me on my profile on here! Come to IJ and you're sure to see me if I'm working! People are always saying hi to me and thanks and using my first name when I say have a great day or something nice to them; and im like, how do they know my name....oh, nametag, haha! ^one of the perks to being friendly and cordial to people!^ Anyways, Im 5'8", brown hair, athletic build....starting to sound like a dating site! lol But, yeah, come on down and say hi! my picture is on here, or my myspace! (www.myspace.com/butchmanwr85)
  2. Lookin' good man! Looks pretty cool! Thanks!
  3. *cough* Beast *cough* TopGun *cough*
  4. HAHAHA...hey guys...did you see THAT? He said "gravel"! ahahaha Angrymobeaver, I would run for the nearest exit! lol Let us hope there is no gravel, They don't need to mimic concrete like they did on IJ!
  5. I believe that you mean BGA?.... Africa is in Tampa Bay
  6. E-stop, would not stop trains any faster, or in any other place than where the ride is designed to safely "set-up", for both safety and evacuation purposes. The ride doesnt just immediately stop, unless under a certain speed and approaching or in a set of brakes! Emergency stop is just that, an emergency stop not an immediate stop, if that were the case, it would be an i-stop! On any coaster, and you can find most of this same info in most Roller Coaster books!
  7. Thanks for the kind words Paul! Oh and, Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
  8. I would like to see some high quality 2-3 inch thick memory foam padding on a roller coaster car...wow, that would be awesome. Put some of it on Racer's cars! (I hurt my back for the second time on Racer on Sunday, lol) I need to quit sitting in the very back, Im just light enough and tall enough for the perfect combination of my flying forward, and then SLAMMING back into the back and butt of the seat...OUCH! On any given ride, I fly completely forward and then slam back into the seat extremely hard about 8 times. This of course is compared to 4 times on the Georgia Cyclone which was (until Sunday) my worst coaster ever ridden! These happen to be the only two coasters that I have ever thought to be even close to rough!
  9. As has been said here, the number one step in discipline of offenders is detection. That really is in the hands of the many riders in line as there are a limited number of rides that usually have a specific "greeter". Its quite hard for the driver or personell checking restraints to keep guests safe to stop what they are doing and admonish the line jumper, or as has been the case in my instance several times...cursors. there is maybe 35 seconds if that, at least on my ride, where a person unloading a train or checking bars can actually get all the information needed on a line jumper and then talk with the accused. With the rule on cursing, we must be notified by two (2) parties, in order to remove a person or persons from a train. I have used that rule a couple times this year and made a party, with the help and consent of my co-workers, forfeit their ride due to unruly behavior. I for one take great pride in making sure that you all have a wonderful care-free day at Kings Island! And for those who have seen me at the park, I take any time I can to talk with the guests, and wish them a great day!
  10. I for one, love Top Gun, it is one of my favorite rides in the park. Also, by the fact that it has had half hour waits so early in the season is a plus because, as we all know the lines will just get longer during peak operating season. The one thing I deffinately think Top Gun needs is some sprucing up, it is showing quite a bit of age! Also, you will be hard pressed to find much that will go in the area where Top Gun is. You can obviously rule out any form of flat ride, unless you are gonna offer up several thousand dollars to bring in some clean fill! Any other coaster to go back there, any longer than Top Gun would need to be meticulously plotted if it is to follow the terrain at all, the area is just way too slopy. Like Brown Tiggrr said, Addition by subtraction isn't always the best. The bottom line is that if Top Gun operates with full trains (or nearly full) until it closes regardless of wait times, than it has just as much capacity as a new ride would, perhaps more because of its lack of downtime. Although Im sure TG has some downtime *I* have never witnessed it, and it moves many, many more people than IJ and quite possibly Firehawk could ever hope too! If a ride is reaching near its peak ridership and isnt a boon to the operating budget why remove it, unless strapped for space? And, keep in mind it does cost to tear rides down, they don't magically disappear! I hope that TG stays for years to come, but if it must go, than it must. I just hope it doesnt!
  11. Longest Ive ever waited at KI...1 hour and 15 minutes for IJ:ST. Longest Ive ever had to wait at any park... 1 hour and a half for Splash Mountain, and Test Track! I have a way with lines! And, no, no linejumping has ever been involved!
  12. you should have gotten an e-mail saying that the first issue of the employee newsletter is online. If you read it, you will see that yes, KI employees get into any CF park, aside from the Star Trek experience or whatever it is just by showing their ID.
  13. Most people will agree like angryemobeaver said, that people go to the left when visiting a park, that is why when I go to the park, I always go right through Nick U around the park counter-clockwise to avoid the long lines!
  14. Speaking of flower shows at theme parks, I have heard that Cypress Gardens does up a dandy garden expo! I can believe it too! The one thing that they deffinately specialize in is their landscaping. The shrubs in the shapes of animals are awesome!
  15. One thing I noticed at the park on Sunday was how many adults were wearing those blue tooth hands-free cell phone things. I was at Plankton's Plunge, and I just saw so many people with kids running amock, while they talked to an invisible person on their headsets. Agh, the world that we live in...
  16. Anyone see me at IJ? lol
  17. And, if we are going both of those routes, than we all know that I have to say. "Splash Mountain" at WDW's Magic Kingdom. "Its time to be moving along, yeah you've gotta be movin' along!"
  18. Grizzly River Rampage at Good 'ole Opryland USA was one of my favorite water rides! And by now, we all know how much I love Splash Mountain, great theme, and I have never got toowet!
  19. And, deffinately if you looked at some of the premiums for say Jaycees (sp?) you would be confirmed on your thoughts! They get checked by the fire chiefs and other authorities numerous times!
  20. For Beast I always sit in the very front seat or middle of front car...of the whole train, I find that to be the least rough! Do Not sit in the back car of the blue train on Racer....its a doozey! I hurt my back on it one day...and had trouble driving home!

but...better than premier...IMHO! There are a few nice premiers though!
  22. Ah, the GREAT Raging Thunder! I too loved it, at least there is a very very slim chance that she will be brought back to life in the next couple years. As long as the wood still stands....there is a chance. It was my first ever flume ride!
  23. At Disney anyone with a ticket can qualify for the Fast Pass system. Also, I rarely stay on Property when I go down to Disney, so I am quite happy that the Fast Pass is for everybody. You make two very contradictory statements though: -and- and to add to it you even say this: So, regardless of owning a time share or not, if I go to Disney and don't stay on property I shouldn't be able to use the Fast Pass? You say that at KI there are families on their first visit, and that giving the perk to the gold pass holders isnt fair, but yet it would be fair at Disney, where arguably more people enjoy their first visit. Well You have more of a worry about it being peoples first visit to Disney than you do it being someones first visit to KI. So its OK for a family to have long lines at Disney the most magical place on earth, but not at KI? I don't think I have read a more contradictory statement.
  24. Let's see, I have visited Kings Island since I was about 6, Im thinking 1994 maybe 1993! As far as KIC is concerned, I really do not know how I came upon it, but Ive only known of the site for about 6 months. I think I was on RCDB and clicked on the fan sites one time when I was trying to confirm what I told a friend about the size of the park!
  25. yah, I didnt go in until 3:50 on Saturday and 11:50 on sunday! But, I was at the park from about 12:30 till 3:30 saturday riding rides. I did see some people there though. I know Coasters 'n such introduced himself, and a few others! Hope to see some of you in the park some other times!
