I tink dare is a tree beer limit at da Dragons games doncha know! In other words price could discourage intoxication a little, but the park wouldnt make money on the alcohol like they do by discouraging people to buy so I doubt thats the case. Especially when you can do what the Dragons and Reds do and halt beer after a certain inning and limit the beers as well. But that would also limit profit now that I think about it, wow, funny world that we live in.... Id Like an extra large burger and Fries and a extra large DIET Coke please! Then again some people just like the taste of Diet Coke and Pepsi rather than non-diet. Wow I have just been struck with an intense evaluation of humanity's hypocrisies...Im gonna get out of here before I hurt myself or someone else with words, lol

Maverick Testing Photos
Cory Butcher replied to Firehawk1189's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'd say so! Do they realize that the webcam is automated and that they cant tell the speed of the train just froma few webcam pics? I think when they are refering to the speed they are talking about what they have seen on the live "video" webcam at www.funcoast.com/funcam. On this camera it is possible to see the speed of the train, because it is taking constant pictures instead of just updating every 60 seconds. They are still pretty nerdy for commenting on a coaster run in a webcam...if they really want to be cool they should go all John Madden and circle some stuff Telestrator anyone? lol, now that would make their comments more, well, no actually still pretty lame! -
here is what you do... If you are unsure if its been posted then search for what you are looking for! if its not there then post! But to answer, I don't know, I've never even had a souvenir cup from KI. Anyways see you the 21st!

Ok everyone, so Kings Island's official weekends-only operation starts in less than 11 days, and I know many of us are getting excited! While most threads have focused on past memories, or what you would do to change the park in the future, I propose perhaps a simpler more joyful question. What are you looking forward to most this year? Or, I pose even a more priceless question. What memories will you create at Kings Island in 2007? As for me, I am looking forward to my first year as an employee on Italian Job:Stunt track and meeting new friends along the way. I also can't wait to experience late night fireworks from The Beast's lift, and perhaps a new area, the top of the Eiffel Tower. I cant wait for the air to be filled with the smell of Funnel cakes, and the musty fog of FearFest, under the moonlit evening. Or even the sudden rush of air on Racer, the out of control feeling of The Beast through the tunnels and the deafening roar of the trains. From the zero-G's on Vortex to the thrill of flight on Firehawk, to the hot muggy night of July 4th celebrations. Ah, the great experiences of spending a day at the amusement park, very few moments can compare, especially when surrounded by friends and family; the love and warmth that their companionship brings to a day and a night that is filled with fun, and unforgettable moments. These will be my memories, what will be yours?

Yah I just wanted to make sure the members know that Im not one of these members who just throws stuff out there to get people riled up. When Im wrong I admit it and when Im right I prove it! You know, some people on here get a bad rap for false information, I dont want to be one of those members, hence why my posts are always so long and laden with logic and support. But thanks for the support anyways I am so glad that Wyandot lake is going to be such a big part of the Columbus Zoo's plans for years to come, it deserves it! I just still am having a little trouble grasping how much their plans have changed since last I had heard, lol, I deffinately like this idea alot better! oh and uh, haha, Will Wolfe if you are reading this, thanks!
-
WOW, all I can say is their plans for Wyandot have changed drastically from what I heard in mid 2006 right around the time of aquisition! I am really happy it is getting a facelift! Obviously what they are actively doing with the Wyandot Lake is completely opposite of what I had heard. They must have decided it to be in their best interest to keep the park and upgrade it than tear it out and implement the plan that I heard of last year. Had I known that their ideas for the park changed I would have obviously left out outdated information! So i am sorry for any panic that I caused anyone and more importantly sorry to have given outdated info! I am completely suprised that the directors did a 180 from what the Wolfe's stated. For the better I guess anyways. Feel free to list those circumstances. The parks are similar in some ways and different in others, you are right, what I was pointing out is that GL is going to be the equivalent of a better Lesourdsville Lake (which of course is up to debate, but GL has a water park and more attractions, and more land). And as you pointed out, the differences are in favor of Geauga Lake staying around. Management is MUCH better due to CF's ownership. This is part of the reason why GL isnt going anywhere, in the next 5 years anyways...alot admittedly can change. Also economically, although GL's area in and around Aurora has suffered, there is still more economic prosperity than there was around LL until the last few years. The weather is one factor that is worse I guess, but for the most part GL should be better off than LL was and that should lead to it being around for some time to come! You are right however, we will see this next season.

Oh, I remember those days, lol! Oh how glad I am now to be mid 80's, now if only I could learn to make a darn birdie I came close two weeks ago! I cant quit just making par
-
I think he was just uninformed, unless of course Paramount had a park in Pennsylvania...which, to my knowledge they don't! GL will be fine, parks all over have had trouble surviving at a little over 450,000 a year, but GL manages to pull in 700, 000 they will be fine! Heck even ole miserable Wyandot Lake next to the zoo was able to sustain for ever...until of course The zoo decided that a polar exhibit would draw in more money than old Sea Dragon and some water slides! As of now Geuaga Lake is going to be like a souped up LeSourdsville Lake with a water park. And, LeSourdsville Lake/Americana had less to draw with (aside from the history of the lake and Screechin' Eagle) than GL. Also, don't forget that for the last several years from the late 90's to 2002 when it closed for good, the park was in a very financially strapped area. It is just now that 63 is being widened and the 75 Corridor expanded. If LL could do it marginally while pulling in 400,000 in a financially strapped area, then GL can deffinately stay around at 600,000-700,000! And as long as she draws in money, she'll stay!

Don't hold your breath waiting on that to happen... As for the soft drinks, I would love Pepsi products. Now on to the more important issue "BEER". Yes the prices are extremely high however that will never change, people want beer and they pay for it. Nice new rides have to come from somewhere! I personally greatly appreciate your wallet getting gouged to support my ride habit! Drink up! hehe

i see that you decided to post a period! Thats a first! lol Those truly are some magnificent pictures! I actually like the model the most though! You truly are the owner of some rare treasures!

Odd, I didnt see Typhoon Lagoon, or Blizzard Beach? Must have missed something!

Sounds to me that people who make brash and not-well-intended posts should lay off the boards! Next time you get a thought like that, please, just let it go
-
Are you people still not getting it? OMG
-
You guys have some good points but when we remove her why not do her some justice? BON fIRE!!! i'll bring the weiners! we can have smores too! You know what, lets take out Racer too, it really is old, noone rides it, its never full! We can put in another ride kindof like Italian Job because I love it! and we could put in another topspin just like Tomb Raider, because, I dont think we can have enough indoor themed topspins to movies! as for the parking lot for beast, I love it! there are always problems with parking, so lets get rid of the problem and add more parking. For the Eiffel Tower, the way it sticks up in the park...ugh, like a soar thumb I say! Demon Drop, woohooo! now that would even be better than the Eiffel Tower!

What should be done with the Paramount Story?
Cory Butcher replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
1. Name change to Kings Island Story 2. History of Kings Island by year or major improvements (whether improvements or not, additions if you will) 3. keep the lucious landscaping, it is a magnificent area in a park that has nearly lost them all (insert IJ:ST reference here) 4. Entertain many for years to come while keeping history alive! -
Kings Island Prepares for its 2007 Season

hey just be glad you have a president, if you didnt wed be waking up in the land of the rising sun! Haha I sound like an amvet... I think its funny when people call out presidents whether they are horrible or not, freedom of speech truly is great! I love how we can say what we want...sometimes things are overused though Having an american flag will remind us of a president that some of us dont like? I guess we should remove them from schools to, and if they are at half mast for fallen soldiers, well lets just get rid of them, dont want to be reminded that we have a democrocy and a president, heaven forbid. People that make those types of comments not only have failed ideology but a real serious problem of dilusion, grow up and honor your flag for its whole, not its parts! -
OMG enough with the map already!!!!!!!!! When someone knows, we'll let you know, ok? Nothing is gonna change if you just keep asking, when one is found one will be posted, I promise, if not by me, by someone else...

Kings Island Prepares for its 2007 Season

I can't wait to see the finished station and what it will look like! -
Didnt someone on here already post the 2007 Brochure? The pictures look the same as what I saw almost a month ago!

Well noone has a problem with Cedar Fair buying pants this year. Lots of employees hated having to buy their own shorts because very often Paramount wanted them to buy a certain type that they couldnt even find, so obviously people just wore what they could find and everyone was mismatched. I was talking to a girl who worked at the park for some time, and either this year or the year before it girls had to have like a 2 1/2 inseam on their shorts, and she said that she looked everywhere and couldnt even find anybody that made nice khaki shorts that short for girls. So it wasnt just that employees didnt have common sense to look alike, but they couldnt always find what they were supposed to have! As for the shirts noone minds wearing all the same shirts either...the beef amongst some employees this year, is that they are just hoping toget a new style of shirt not just the old Paramount ones! They like the cut and things and even wearing them...just not the colors in the past!

Paul, is the chairman too! lol
