CBS Broadcasting Reviews New Coasters for Year
Cory Butcher replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
well not quite...it wasnt CBS in 2004 when the coaster was starting being built or in 2005 when it opened. (Unless you are referring to the our coaster's sister?) And I have not heard anyone, anyone, aside from a few on here, get off of IJ when I'm at Unload and not say that they "loved the ride", "weren't expecting it to be so great", or "Let's ride it again" Many people love Italian Job, and I for one think it's a fun ride...which is exactly why I don't try to put ANY stock in records. Of all the factors that go into a ride, not one to me makes it better than another, it is what you get when you put all those factors together that makes it 'thrilling'. You are right though, the one thing I was thinking when I was reading that article is, "what the heck do they know about thrilling?" -
CBS Broadcasting Reviews New Coasters for Year
Cory Butcher replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
haha "less than thrilling", I guess they aren't in any way shape or form Roller coaster enthusiasts over there at CBS. Of everyone Ive talked to, this year will be a great year! Maybe there wont be many records this year, but that doesnt mean that Firehawk, Maverick, Griffon, Renegade, THBS wont be an amazing experience. Everyone I have talked to is excited for this year! -

The news we have been waiting for! The official opening of Firehawk will take place on Saturday, May 26, see you all there! Information courtesy of: www.pki.com "message from the park"
-
BUT...its a Saturday...and there may be a major attraction opening, and if this past Saturday was any indication you may get only 4-7 rides in all day! But enjoy your day at the park!
-
Haha, Chris, for some reason I had a feeling that you would say that...lol
-
yeah, like games guy said, look for some of the less than major attractions to open later in the day! Have a nice trip to the park!

Dispatch Article on Ohio Zoos
Cory Butcher replied to jzarley's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah the Zoo is currently 80 acres, and they have 580 acres to work with. The place will just keep getting better, and for that, I am excited! -
Haha, I noticed you said 'thrill' I can see some uninformed person coming on after you and saying..."er...what about Disney?" lol

Wow, one more account of the medicinal purposes of The Beast! lol The Beast can be as invigorating and rough as a chiropractor, so I could see this taking place. However, Friday Beast was the smoothest I had ever ridden it, barely any jerkiness.

Our Zoos here are just spectacular! I love the Columbus Zoo, and The Wilds is amazing. -
Maverick Update!
Cory Butcher replied to UncleHenry's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
hahaha, I had that problem a bunch too! Until of course, I started pen and papering everything before I build! quite possibly, but remember thats just side to side motion...the stress on Maverick in that Heartline at 70mph would have been, in a Vortex motion. In other words, like when you roll your neck, to the side then up then to the side then down, and back. Side to side can be stabilized, and fixed with banking, that Vortex motion snaps things all too quickly. Think of how you break the pop tab off a can of pop, you can wiggle the tab back and forth till it breaks, or you can move it around in a circular motion twisting and pulling in all different directions....the latter of which will take the tab off much quicker...though not as neat of a break. As seen above, you dont want that on a trains wheel assembly! -
Haha, I took the same exact picture... After I got off my shift I also had walk on waits for everything...I must've rode Beast 7 times! and I had my first ever ride on Delirium...not a bad flat at all! FOF was...rough...that first maneuver after the launch was painful...I dont even remember that first 5 seconds, lol...it was so fast!

B&M- Better and Marvelous Not to mention, I have heard nothing but praise for B&M's integration of technology and ease of operation. As well as their customer support. B&M seems to have K*I*S*S down to a science! -
Sean Hannity Freedom Concert coming to KI!
Cory Butcher replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Coming Attractions
yeah, I Agree with combatstupendous...personally I love all three aspects of the concert. But we all should go if we have the extra 60 dollars around and like Country music, and would like to support the troops' children. That is what this is about, touching lives and taking in a concert. Since when did politics have a greater moral grasp on us than our faith or our philosophy? If you like country and want to support the troops you should attend, regardless of political convictions. I just don't understand why we must allow politics and hatred or disdain to keep us from achieving greater goals. If some of you dont remember racism kept us from goals in the past. And yes I will say it, it seems that politics has become the new racism, IMO. Hope to see you guys there, I love MG and will more than likely be there! P.S. if Combs, Clinton, Obama, Peloski promoted the concert like Hannity is I WOULD go see it as it is a great cause. See you there guys! -
Pretty sure that I'll be on a flight down to Disney World, to get my last ride on Splash Mountain! But, since thats not the topic, and I dont want to be a 'homer' Im going to say night ride, with fog, on Top Gun!

Maverick opening delayed
Cory Butcher replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
What? Read the whole topic, no one is saying they did this to just take peoples money or that they're dealying it on purpose, what people are saying is that they are discouraged they've spent the money to take a trip up to the park and now the new attraction wont be open. Actually, YOU might want to read the whole topic. To quote Bodda in part: So some people on pointbuzz ARE saying "CP is just doing this to take our money." ACTUALLY, Interpreter, you quoted Browntggrr -
um, no, I didn't, Its Busch Gardens Africa...so I referred to it as BGA, and then just said shorthandedly that Africa (Busch Gardens Africa) is in Tampa Bay as opposed to Europe (Busch Gardens Europe) which is not! But I know what you meant...
-
Hah, they called six Flags a 'theme' park in that sign...I'm doubting this...lol
-
Haha, you beat me to it!
-
I will be at the park All Day on May 18th! The only time you wouldn't see me, is during break!

Should Kings Island get a record breaking coaster?
Cory Butcher replied to Dalefan's topic in KI Polls
I vote for something like, oh say, Splash Mountain!
