  1. Haha, and why would that be? But thanks, I guess?!? Look at Cedar Point, I would say speakers and DJ boxes will become a thing of our future. Which really, I kind of like, if Im not talking to my friends, Im listening to the music, and barely have enough time to look at a screen. Of course, just because thats what Cedar Point does doesn't mean it will be what we do. I for one like requesting "Dashboard" by Modest Mouse
  2. My 4 favorite Wooden Rollercoasters of all time are Blue Streak, Gemini, Gwazi, and Beast! I was so thrilled with Blue Streak, my friend and I rode it 9 times this past tuesday, and a total of 13 times the two times weve went to CP, we think it is one of the best rides there, three of the four that I just mentioned are not all that rough! To me, Beast's fun factor is all in looking at squirrels in the trees...it ranks 4th...well ok, it may beat out Blue Streak... but only because of the top speed and the fact that your mind bends in those helixes!!
  3. Not particularly, I tend to be off to come back from Cedar Point, But I wont be going there for a while...so I pretty much work every day!
  4. Short, sweet, to the point, with some reminiscing and a look torwards the future...thats how I like my trip reports! Sounds like you had a nice leisurely day at the park!
  5. Yeah deffinately try out a wednesday!
  6. Why is Wednesdays better than Tuesday/Thursday? Purely based on a mini case study...that is just the way that the chips have fallen, less people have come on wednesdays than any other days....since the beginning of the year....and for any other park that I've ever visited. If I had to make a conclusive statement as to the influences of low lines on Wednesdays it would have to do with the fact that not many people specifically have the middle of the week off, and that all of your people from out of town, will either come for a weekend, or a three day week starting on Friday or ending on Monday, or will stretch it one day further moving into tuesday or Thursday..Wednesday however seems to not get touched, except for maybe the 4th this month. Last Wednesday, IJ:ST never had a line over 15 minutes while I was working, and it was ten minutes or less for nearly the whole shift! On other days we get into the 20's and 30's.
  7. Haha, if you've never been to Cedar Point than you have no idea how prophetic of a statement you may have just made! For those who havent been and are wondering, Cedar Point has stands outside the entrance of every water ride, selling towels, ponchos, and sacks to keep articles dry. I would imagine they make a killing off that stuff. And if anything were to come to Kings Island from Cedar Fair, I would bet my money that, that would be a certainty in the not-so-distant future, of course only time will tell!
  8. And there is nothing wrong with that at all, nothing wrong with people deciding not to ride something that doesnt suite them. But it is those people that get on and complain, or know what is coming and complain, or get off and complain that a water ride got them too wet, and then ride again the next time...and yes complain again, that need to find something else to ride. I am pretty sure if they held that vote like you suggested, they would be removing the elephant
  9. I am going to say Friday is your best day to go! From what I have seen, day in and day out at work, with all factors taken into account, the worst days to go in reference to the lines are: 1. Saturday 2. Sunday 3. Friday 4. Monday 5. Thursday 6. Tuesday 7. Wednesday That is in ranking order in other words...Wednesday is the Best day to go, and Saturday is the worst, hope that helps...there are other factors that will change this like star Spangled on Tuesday and the 4th falling on wednesday, but during a typical week, my ranking is very accurate!
  10. If you dont mind elaborating Bill, what disappointed you most about it? I have been thinking about trying it out someday this year when I visit on a day off.
  11. A friend called and told me just a little over a hour ago, that he watched the trains go up the lift (empty of course) to test. Hopefully we are getting nearer and nearer to an opening!
  12. Thats a pretty cool video, had never seen that before. I can usually skip a ride on TR when Im at the park as well, Im not sure why other than, I have never comfortably ridden in the restraint system. I may need to ride it again this year sometime, since I havent in a while.
  13. In complete agreeance with Nick, I would like to add that Snake River Falls at CP will hose you down, and has drenched me more than any other log flume has, aside from Raging Thunder, one of the greatest flume rides of all time that resides at the now defunct Americana! There is a complete difference between flumes, where you WILL GET WET!! and snenic boat rides like "Its a small World" where you WILL GET BORED! (I dont really get bored on Its a small world, but you get the point...its just a leisurely stroll in sometimes no more than a foot of water, a completely diff experience)
  14. ^lol^ at that...this is the same type of argument people have with shows on TV, if you dont like it, turn it off! If you dont like the elephant, dont ride! Its part of the experience, I for one love that little booger just sitting there and then soaking you! Ive always thought that the funniest thing at amusement parks, is people that ride water rides with a warning of soakage, that complain about getting wet, or sincerly avoid the water. It just astounds me... I am a little biased of course, as my favorite ride is Splash Mountain!
  15. Ive watched that show many many times, and I havent ever tried any of that crap...yes I know, Im a freaking saint! lol JK, but seriously I dont try that crap! and many people are smart enough not to, you just occasionally will get the people that got hurt in the parking lot.
  16. which means you used what dictionary yourself?!? LOL
  17. Can I save you some trouble? I listen to the songs all day, and yes, I hear them in my sleep...Ive been asked that alot! The CD is "Fired Up Vol. 1" you can order if from Amazon The songs played from that CD are: Do you miss me by Jocelyn Enriquez Around the World by ATC I turn to you by Melanie C. Dont call me baby by Madison Avenue In a dream by Rockell Just a little Bit by Motiv8 Free by Ultra Nate Call me by Leclick Better off alone by Alice Deejay Nobodys supposed to be here by Deborah Cox If you could read my mind Stars on 54 This is your night by Amber Blue by Eiffel 65 Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation The Bomb by the Bucketheads One more try by Kristine W Some of the songs are techno, and all are 'dancebeats' To the best of my knowledge, I have never worked when Sandstorm has been played, and it is not on Fired up Vol. 1, However I wish it played, that song rocks. With a couple ommitted from the queue up for obvious reasons!
  18. Hey, wait a minute, I work at Italian Job!.....
  19. Fair season is beginning Full swing, Ohio Dept of Agri guys are all over the state right now inspecting rides and checking lists and things. They also very frequently will keep to a schedule, and unless an inhouse inspection will be done by KI, it may have to fit into that schedule. And regardless of who will do the actual inspection (and possible recertification), you know that it will be thorough and everything dissected in the namesake of safety. Therefore, when it opens whenever that may be, it will be completely safe to the latest inspection, and no matter how long it takes that is a good thing!
  20. Now, let this be a wake up call for many members on here who wish to abolish seat belts altogether from some of their favorite attractions. Just goes to show that no matter how mild a thrill ride may be, the belt could save a life! So quit complaining! Of course we do not know the full extent of how she was injured, but the park said they will be adding seatbelts, so it more than likely has something to do with that. The woman's family whoever they may be has my deepest sympathies, I hope this doesnt discourage any of them or other members of society from enjoying more thrill rides down the line.
  21. As a little advice, go to Cedar Point on a Tuesday! I have went two tuesdays this year with friends, and on the first tuesday every line was under 50 minutes, except for Maverick which was an hour and a half that turned to 2 1/2 with downtime and 1 1/2 on the second ride of the night. This past Tuesday I went to Cedar Point as well...I never encountered a line longer than 50 minutes...even Maverick we got on in under an hour! And I rode my favorite ride at the park....Blue Streak 9 times that day...it was a great day...rode everything! As for rides having difficulties...it is not maintenance causing the rides to not operate. Plain and simple, on rides big or small there are so many pieces and parts and technologies that just have their days. Im sure you've had those days where you come home after work...and the microwave wont turn on, and a circuit tripped and the milk in the fridge is going bad. Things just happen, when you get so much technology together you will have problems...that is the nature of anything in life from your car that just got a new tire and gets a flat, to someone who opens there door into your car and breaks your mirror. Its not your fault for "not maintaining" your car or your appliances...just there are moments where weird things happen. So dont attack maintenance for the rides being down, they are there to maintain them and be sure that the rides are safe at all times, which our maintenance crew does an excellent job at. Remember at all times that if a ride is down it is to protect your safety and is a good thing to have so many "fail-safes" on rides. Just be patient and when the difficulty is erased, take your seat and ride!
  22. I know one thing...with all of the excitement that has been brought back to Kings Island this year, I personally cant wait for SOB to finally open...and we can deffinately all rest assured that it will be done right!
  23. At least you arent looking forward to riding more than one ride! As I always say, if you have no goals, its easier to achieve those goals!
  24. right, I was just saying, it wasnt just CBS, and deffinately not the same department that published that article!
  25. And, I must completely disagree with you with the merchandise that is in the shops! I was commenting to a friend right around the opening of the park, how much I loved the new merchandise and apparel that the shops have this year! I love the return to some of the 'classic' KI apparel now in there. Not a whole lot of the movie apparel left.
