How do you feel about the new ride names?
I like The Crypt, absolutely detest "Flight Deck", and actually somewhat like Backlot Stunt Coaster (BSC isnt a bad TLA!). TG and IJ will always be their original names to me, but I actually kind of like BSC. I just hope the rides get a little TLC. I don't care to read the signs, I just want to ride the rides!

Yes, Florida is quite synonymous with 5:00 showers. My grandparents used to live in West Melbourne, and there was a rain shower every evening right around 5 PM. It was always fun watching all the snapping turtles rise up from the pond behind their house as it rained.

Local Union pickets outside indoor waterpark
At least I put a comment with my post, YOU just post hundreds of links with NO comments about what your posting. Interpreter is very much within his right to post links without comment, as far as I have interpreted the TOS. However as Interpreter was pointing out, there is a portion of the TOS barring political discussion on these forums. While I personally do not think this discussion is too completely political in nature, can we please not attack other users for offering warranted or constructive criticism? Especially when certain well-respected users who offer much to these forums, are completely within their right to post as they have done in the past without warning from the mods, and offer reasons for why they support what they do, not just blatant unsupported opinions!

Those are very cool! Thanks for posting. I should be going to Sea World this summer, as well as Busch Gardens Africa. In other words, more animal photos will be coming to the forums (video as well, I love my new camera!), lol.

Jackson, like this post I am currently writing, what does that have anything to do with this forum?

New Ride Names now Official
Jackson, that is the origin of the name. However, a lady came up with that name for a naming contest.

Six Flags To Reduce 2008 Operating Expenses
http://www.kippreport.com/article.php?arti...d=889&day=1 Ok, so I somewhat stand corrected, the market is obviously huge. My point was that Disney has done little with their properties in Tokyo and Hong Kong to take the foreign nations by storm. I am simply wondering, how Six Flags thinks that they can capitalize on foreign markets that the almighty powerful Disney so far has seemingly failed to take advantage of, aside from Paris? I am a firm believer in Disney's famous quote, "If you dream it, you can achieve it", so as I said earlier kudos to them for at least trying, I would do it. I just still have to wonder if that particular company can pull it off. The one reason I think it would work is purely philosophical, The company is ready for a reform period. They are just about to the point where anything they do, almost has to work, just due to things in life seeking balance. This could be what history will recognize that pulled them out of their hole.

What defunct ride do you miss the most?
Don't even get me started, thats a touchy subject for me! Wow, I miss Lesourdsville Lake so much. My very first roller coaster ride was on the Serpent Roller Coaster. I WILL make it up to Kokomos to ride it again eventually. It brings a tear to the eye, I attended so many AK Steel company picnics there :'(. In other news relating to LL, it seems the locals have completely denounced the ideas that Couch has had for the property. In talking with a few of them, they are seemingly hell-bent on not letting the area be used for just anything. This is especially true of the Fantasy Farm property which has only squatted there as an amusement park since the early 60's. It will be interesting to see what happens with the land in the next year. The longer the land just sits, the thinner the grapevine seems to get!

San Fran: Escaped Zoo Tiger Kills 1; Injures 2
^ Interpreter I love how you just spun that outcome both ways, and both ways led to mostly the same scenario. Is the idea of Cetaris Paribus used in law? If so...other things equal (wall height not being a problem before this incident, the guests shouldn't be bothering the animals etc.), can the boys who started this be deemed solely at fault with very very little discipline handed down to the zoo?

Weird dream about new coaster
Um, no. I wouldn't say that, I was simply posting the theory that I use for my dreams, most of them have something to do with situations that I can avoid because I've already experienced them. Maybe he had his dreams so that he recognizes the inherant risk there is in riding roller coasters, or any other adrenaline filled activity on earth. So by having the dreams maybe he will not ever have to get injured on the ride himself to learn any important life lessons, instead, he can envision how it would personally change his life. Its just a theory, what I have used for my dreams to at least try and understand them! EDIT: I hadnt been feeling great tonight, and the original texture of my post showed that, therefore I refined my statement!

Six Flags To Reduce 2008 Operating Expenses
Every time I read something good about SF, and start to believe in what they are selling, they turn around and make strategic announcements that dumbfound me. Then they make another announcement that makes me feel better, then they make one like this announcement where I have to wonder what they are doing. To analyze the going international idea, they have to be kidding right? The international market other than Disney Paris, is something that even Disney with all of their cash reserves, and ideas and networking hasnt even harnessed yet. And SF, the $2 a share SF is wanting to pursue THAT? Do they honestly think they can do any better nationally than what Disney and Universal have been trying to do? Mad props for trying if that is their goal, I just don't see it going well. I don't follow Six Flags enough to even guess at how to fix their problems, nor am I qualified, regardless of my opinion to do so, however something tells me that this isn't their fix.

I would be scared too, if it turned out that KI were to get a Deja Vu! Oh, wait, that kind of Deja Vu, who knew!

SFKK to add Mega Wedgie
^If a good park was solely built on rides, you would not have Busch Gardens, Universal or even Disney; Parks all built on quality family experiences from food and beverage and hospitality all the way up through quality shows and rides. Rides may make most of us on here happy, but there are so many more demographics out there that appreciate a more well rounded experience. Me being one of them. I just hope Kings Island keeps building on what makes them so great in '08!

First women with 50+ years service for Disney passes
I apologize for double-posting, however, I deemed this post to be worthy of a standalone reference from the post before it. As Ronny requested here is a documentary with some references to what I mentioned previously There is an excellent documentary out about Walt Disney's life and the history of the Disney company. The Documentary was made in 1995 and produced by Channel four across the pond. The title of the documentary is Secret Lives Walt Disney. The documentary explores the darker side of Disney's persona. The documentary includes artists Bill Melendez, David Hilberman, Mary Eastman, Bill Hurtz, Marie Beardsley, and Bill Littlejohn, screenwriter Joan Scott, and biographers Marc Eliot, Richard Schickel, and Bob Thomas. I encourage all who watches this to please keep an open mind to the times while they do, but also encourage you to take a look at some things you may have not known prior to watching the Documentary. It is approximately an hour long, but is WELL worth the watch! The parts of the Documentary are in sequential order!

Yeah sure, no problem. There are some very good videos out there too about the inside of the Walt Disney Company, I will send those your way!

First women with 50+ years service for Disney passes
What an inspirational story, thanks for sharing BrownTggrr. There are deffinately things that us young people can learn from those who have seen tougher times than those of today, and made their own contributions to the world amidst change and hardship. Especially in the case of this story, hardwork is definitely a lesson. For those that do not know much about the Disney company pre 1970, it was EXTREMELY hard for a female to be taken seriously and given any job other than as an inker. The fact that she made a name for herself within the Disney company, speaks volumes to me personally as an intense follower of all things Disney. Just, what a marvelous story and seemingly fiitting tribute. Just, as a note to those on here younger than me: there are so many opportunities for us all to learn new things and become better well rounded people in this life, and we only get one chance. When stuff is posted on here, take the time to read it, understand it, criticize what you read for what it is worth and try to take something away from it. There are just so many great things that you can learn if you just read!
