  1. Yah, but then the sign is just sticking out in the middle of the road.
  2. I agree with him. there is nothing wrong with that. Ceidar fair owns it now. they can do what ever they want. It will not crush my love of kings isalnd. Hey, whatt happend to the release date for X-flight. It was going to be yesterday? What Happend? Its gonna be called Firehawk!
  3. LOL And that's quite an adertisement for the ride. Save the ride for last as you'll be so miserable after riding that you'll be going home in pain. Ahhh, anyone wonder how long we're gonna waste time and money on SOB? I really dont know, and Im not gonna even guess! I dont like the headaches, but truthfully SoB is a fun ride, I love hitting those helixes at high speeds, and zooming out of the rosebowls. And, c'mon y'all that there first drop is a doozey! lol I'm not sure what it would take to make it even as comfortable as Beast...yes I said it ! But I have to think that some new, light and agile cars could only help, and lots of cushy padding. Also less we forget, they were told they had to make some structural changes, the track will now give more at high speeds rather than just sitting still and then buckling everytime the train goes by. What was happening is the track wouldnt give at all until the train came, and then once it hit certain spots and jack hammered it would just drill the bracing, and it would all move at once. They actually made the structure too rigid, and that creates...well we all have seen and felt what that creates
  4. And, I would like to second what he said almost verbatim. As I said when I started this post, Thank you guys for doing such a great job with things around here! I too hope that KI realizes the slack that you guys take by trying to retain a respectful relationship with the park and not letting errors or confidential information leak to us. Keep up the good work! Here's to PKIC!
  5. I've never really even noticed that sign . Id walk in all last year and head straight for Avatar, pushing the photogrophers out of my way
  6. I know thats right! I have to save SoB as the last ride, or I have a headache all day, it is the only ride to ever give me a headache!
  7. Exactly. I so did not want to go out tonight and ended up havin some fun on here anyway. I'm in the same boat as you, Just got done watching the movie Barnyard...hilarious! Been on here for the last hour nothing but fun! It sure is a testament to the guys that are a part of this forum too! Ive refreshed this page, like every 30 secs for the last 6 minutes and Oysterman always has that dotted line underneath his name! I think that hes writing a novel on Firehawk
  8. Saturday Night, and weve all officially lost it
  9. Technically you wont be driving a Pontiac Firehawk! You will be driving a SLP modified Pontiac Firebird! SLP stands for street legal Performance, they tuned Firebirds into what they called "Firehawks" but they dont have a TM and neither do Pontiac!
  10. It's a rule that may be a rule but no one is quite sure if it is a rule or is not a rule and if it were a rule if it were a rule that were applied to employee's or who the rule was really applied to or if it existed at all. LOL, Lord, see what happens when I'm in on a Saturday Night! LOL, one thing is for sure you all are doing your best to confuse each other! oh, btw, Woofer I tried the Steak it was good, but a little overdone I have yet to try the shrimp, will you be here tomorrow? LOL
  11. oh, so the rule infact isnt a rule? "Kinda like WhiteHouse Leaks. Generate some buzz and then do the roll out." You are exactly right!
  12. And you sure don't invite non-employees then tell a board that restrictions apply only to employees. Somehow I think the park wants this reaction. Interpreter, you have just hit the nail on the head, that is perhaps the only reason why the park would do such a thing, now we are all buzzing and will pay particular attention to the OFFICIAL Press Release! If youve ever heard of something called a controlled burn? We tend to call this a controlled leak!
  13. wait a min, um, Delirium Guy, I thought that employees werent aloud to post this stuff according to Captain Nemo? and is Firehawk really opening on Memorial Day?
  14. I find it quite funny how we begin talking on a forum, and then we get a little too close to stepping on each other's or the parks toes. And all of a sudden the forum that this was occuring in mysteriously vanishes! I'm begining to think that PKIC is haunted! P.S. Im just kidding guys, I know why this is being done, we all know why, and I really do commend the mods and admins for doing such a great job on this site! Keep up the great work guys, we all appreciate it!
  15. Im sure you'll get someone here with that one!
  16. ok, so we've knocked out Rides associate, and Games-warehouse...but what about the difference between receiver, distribution, and Inventory control in the Merchandise warehouse? Those also say you need a drivers license, do you drive like a forklift or something? My biggest misunderstanding is the diff between the above mentioned positions, they all basically sat the same thing! Warehouse-distribution Job Overview: Load and unload deliveries and stock warehouse shelves Take product orders and answer questions about products available in the warehouse Pull and deliver product orders to park locations Ship and receive freight from various delivery service Drive vehicles to transport items It says drive vehicles to transport items and is that like a JD Gator or like a forkilift?
  17. Ok, thanks for offering that info On games-warehouse associate! That position doesnt require a drivers license cuz they dont have to drive anything. But some of the others said that a drivers license was needed because some of the things must be delivered via auto. Can anyone else elaborate on the other positions? And if in fact on some of them you must have a drivers license (which i do obviously) why? Thanks again to everyone!
  18. Couldnt the new product announcement only talk about the "new product" that KI will be offering under Cedar Fair?? The new ride is part of the new product but isnt souly the product. I wouldnt be suprised if they tell you guys about the product of customer service and fun that you all will be offering but make no mention about former X-Flight. That wouldnt surprise me one bit!
  19. Haha that would be awesome...but im not riding it ! not till everyone else has and noone has died
  20. Jasper, its never wrong to call anything beautiful! Your exactly right, that is one beautiful Picture, and I am sure noone will give us crap about saying that, unless its interpreter trying to make a pun lol
  21. That is and hopefully will always be that beautiful of a scene. That truly says former Paramount Park, but it really reminds me of all the great times that I've had at KI!
  22. I would like to know more information on the positions listed below.... 1. Food and Beverage Warehouse-Day shift 2.Games-Warehouse Associate 3.Merchandise Warehouse-Distribution 4.Merchandise Warehouse-Inventory Control 5.Merchandise Warehouse-Reciever 6.Ride Operations- Associate Also do any of the positions aside from pan and broom and housekeeping make more hourly than the others? This is not of major concern, just would like to know! Any info that you guys could provide would be outstanding! Also, to whomever answers on the topics of the warehousing positions...where exactly is the wharehouse? Is this something that must be driven to off site? Thank you again to all for taking the time!
  23. yah, but thank you for reading it! And your post is exactly what I was aiming for, Volunteering is a great way to help get things off the ground! I volunteered a few years back to plant trees along the Great Miami River..the trees not only help hold soil in place, they prevent flooding by being somewhat of a blockade. Also this method is much cheeper than engineering more dykes (sp?) and controlled banks. When all was said and done, I had a great respect for the Miami Conservency and all the work that they do, as I worked right along side some of their best and some homeless people given a chance to succeed on their own! It was a great experience, yes the flies were biting like crazy on the hot and Humid April day...in the morning at least And afterwards I too felt great about myself and great that the community was helped by my efforts!
  24. i think I may have not been clear enough! I understand that Corporate America charity is bigger than anywhere else in the world...I dont have a problem with Corporate America. My problem is that too many people are willing just to give a buck rather than help people earn it! I believe that instead of just donating, people should also be given opportunities to succeed (you know...public works programs). I was making a distinction between Cedar Fair donating those coats for a worthy cause and bringing back that free for school groups just to appease the Public. There is a difference between mass charity (handouts) and work programs (hands up). I am completely satisified with the amount of charity given, Corporate America deffinately gives more than their fair share! I just wish some of it was gone about a little bit differently so that people can be held accountable (where deserved) like the rest of us. I was giving another idea of a way that companies or people could help out! I did not mean to trash corporations charitable contributions, I just wanted to get into some more ways that needy people could be helped. Does that help straighten my post out a little? I in no way meant to come off as ignorant to Corporate charity, but to simply inject another...perhaps better way of helping others!
  25. I am very happy that those coats went to needy people of the community, but I have just one question, when do we as a nation stop giving "handouts" and start giving "hands up"? Everything circulates around donations and charity, but the point that big companies like Cedar Fair, and some of my more liberal brethren miss is that some of these people could be put in some better position to not just have their donated coat, but to maybe buy food as well, and maybe in a few years have the cash to buy their own coats. I would just really like to see more considerate helping/giving and less public image giving. I am sure Cedar Fair meant good, and everysingle one of us would have done that, I am not taking that for granted..Kudos to Cedar Fair..I just would like to see more community involvement from some of these corps and other people in society. This certainly does seem to be one area in which Cedar Fair is superior to other chains and even other companies insofar that they do try to give back to the community. Great job Cedar Fair, now please do the same great job on KI and we will all worship you!
