Been checking Living Social and Groupon quite often the past couple months if I could change my dates it would be great. So now looking at plan b and possibly even c. So I pose this, anyone here stay at Maui Sands and is the water park worth the extra money? That or would be staying in Port Clinton and ferrying over to Put In Bay for about 4.5 hours worth the extra drive to Cedar Point in the morning? What would you all do?

^As many states who passed amendments banning gay marriage are now finding out those protections are already there. I feel like the states that passed the ban have done more to progress the fight for the equality they intended to withhold. It's time is near but one or possibly two more elections could damage the strides made in recent years.

SIX 2O15

What I don't follow is if it's a single track layout which the original layout was 4300'+ per side. How then is this only 5000'? I realize the whole layout is technically changed but it would seem nearly half of each side is being removed. -
Only a week away now starting to get excited. This trip is becoming a tradition now. Had 5 going this year from East Tennessee now down to the original 3. Staying at the Kings Island Resort that evening then heading up to Sandusky Saturday and Cedar Point on Sunday (sadly private events ruined CP Saturday). So I would like to pose a question anyone else here going up to Cedar Point that weekend? If so anyone interested in pulling together funds and stay at Kalahari, losing the 2 other members of the trip staying there has become a bit unfeasible cost wise. Laid back crew here message me if it might be something you're interested in.

Kentucky Kingdom

Dream scenario Kentucky Kingdom is the first to install the S&S Free Spin. The advertising potential to take focus away from Holiday World could be there. I imagine a commercial leading to the line "wait theirs doesn't do that. " I love Holiday World but I could definitely appreciate a stronger competition. I hope the park thrives and as long as the gates are open it has a chance. -
Thunderbird has launched!

Here's a very far fetched thought but what if it were a launched B&M 4th dimension? I'm sticking with my sit down prediction. But it was just too wondrous a thought to keep bottled up. -

Seems time to lock in final guesses here. Name: Speedwell Manufacturer: B&M Type: Sit-Down launch New 2 across trains with Banshee style restraints. I also think there will be a small prelaunch area which would be like the belly of a ship with cylindrical walls that would move creating the sense of rocking whether the track actually does anything or not. Then "all hands on deck" you launch up from the belly of the ship. I think height will be around 230' at it's highest point. -
I wonder how much Lebron will charge Cedar Fair for using his name on a ride? They've already stated it would be named in his honor so they can't just say it was generic naming. I'd also think he has a price for using his name in any profitable regard. Which in case there is a price I hope at most it'll be in form of a donation to charity of his choice.

Holiday World advice/tips

Don't be afraid to name Raven or Legend your favorite there. Voyage is insane but for me Legend was my favorite there. Eating at the park is cost effective. Plymouth Rock Cafe for homestyle eating, Kringles for a more traditional park food. If you need discount tickets drive just past the park and visit Santas Candy Castle and get the Avalanche while your there. Just something amazingly delicious about frozen hot chocolate. -
Personally I wish parks would just create their own unique characters. Otherwise I think Nintendo would be a great theme. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

Reminds me of something I approve of. You in Ohio not so much. ; ) property of SportsLogos and adidas (though trademarked they intentionally do not capitalize so not sure about T.O.S.) -

Hard Rock Park had much grander plans actually. While I have a greater optimism for Kentucky Kingdom to say HRP never planned on progressing is quite an inaccurate statement. Edit_ this was in response to a post on the previous page. Silly Tapatalk. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk -
Has there been an indoor wooden coaster yet? Like in a mall not a single ride enclosure. If not I could see one of the switchbacks ending up in that type environment. There's a mall building an Intamin creation that's part Blitz part Mega-lite which looks quite amazing. So why not throw a GCI inside.

^Seems more like motorcycle seats to me. Fast hills and curves are quite fun on those. -

While I doubt there will be new trains. How would you all feel if it was Vekomas Dragonfly concept trains? -
^ I'll take the Snickerdoodle please, unless there's some Turtle cookies fresh out of the oven.

However Terp Wheelie at SFOG was not a Huss. It was Schwarzkopf (sp?) and it now lives on nicely at Fun Spot in Orlando. KK's is also being fixed up though I'm unaware of it's manufacturer. I will say while the Huss ones do come closer to a 90° tilt I enjoy the Schwartzkopf version better.

One nice thing about flat rides is they free up some of the congestion in other lines. I would love to see some classics with a new take. Like take a Zipper but without cages and with Banshee like seats/restraints. A Whip that swings both ways like presented as a concept by www.gordonrides.com. A first-gen Intamin Drop Tower with a loop and magnetic braking. A WindSeeker with inward/outward maybe even rotating seats. A Der'Spinnin Keggers type ride with mini discs of outward facing seats. A Ferris Wheel of extreme nature adding restraints and great speed maybe to the point of inverting. I could go on...

I may be mistaken but isn't Tennessee Tornado the first and only Arrow with non-standard loop heights?

Cedar Point park rules?

As of Sunday the only water ride open was Snake River Falls. Shoot the Rapids was definitely closed no activity there just some dummies on a boat or two. A couple years ago it had been open the second weekend of October. Dragster was closed much of Sunday due to wind so if it's windy and you see it open ride it. BTW I'll mention on Saturday played the Plinko game and won two exit passes for Gatekeeper $5 for 2 pucks and I played 2 times. Each pass is good for 2 people. On the main midway there was another Plinko game but had a 4 pack for Millennium Force, TTD, Maverick, Gatekeeper sadly I missed that one til later. Didn't matter much though lines we're pretty short. Now Halloweekend lines were horrid except on Sundays which are bearable. -
