  1. I do like the addition but saying its bringing focus back to the dry side is generous.
  2. I haven't a clue what I'm wearing yet. I'll let you all know tomorow what I pull out of the dryer.
  3. You all know the park better than I do so pick a place and time and I'll be happy to meet ya. Send me a message and I'll get ya my number and such.
  4. If anyone wants too establish a KIC mini meetup time and place that would be pretty cool. I could finally get to meet someone from here. I'll be bringing at least a couple other single riders.
  5. So using the band name generator I got a couple very fitting names... Frustration Steel Steel Dysfunction Now given Kansas City news has already spilled the beans on the relocation they might as well kept the WindSeeker name. http://www.kshb.com/dpp/news/local_news/planned-worlds-of-fun-attraction-has-checkered-past
  6. Often reactions to mistakes are far more troublesome than the mistake made itself. As for Mean Streak I'd love to see a RMC redo, I'd also be happy to see just enough work to simply remove some trims, same goes to Beast. First drop trims always sadden me, might as well shorten the hill.
  7. Speaking of other things around the area. I finally made it to The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster last week. Some decent laterals and very long and multiple cable lifts. It's worth checking out while in the area.
  8. My guess is a Mack Manta like coaster or perhaps the suspended powered coaster that they have yet to open one of. Since Dollywood likes to be unique I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter. But the biggest part of the announcement should be the resort and look what I found. Dollywood's DreamMore Resort... That's a name trademarked recently. Not sure if the link will work but here it is. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4805:gun4k.7.1 edit to add that going to www.dreammoreresort.com takes you to an error on Dollywoods website. While going to www.dreammore.com takes you to a blog.
  9. Found on other forums http://www.bullocksmith.com/portfolio/cat8/project5.html but this is the resort concept from a while back. Good chance this could be part of the announcement.
  10. Just found a good easy retheme for Congo River.. Call it River Tees add some suds to the water a tunnel with the creature of this legend. Peg Powler A nixie found in the River Tees. Like others of her kind she had green hair and was insatiable for human life. The foam on the upper reaches of the river was called 'Peg Powler's suds'.
  11. Overall I think the ride has a chance of being among the best. I would very pleased if they continued the theme into the rest of Action Zone. Well change the name to something like Legend Village. Alter the facade of The Bats station to something gothic with 3d bat head trains. Then in 2015 a legend of the Gargoyle could arise by replacing Drop Towers carriage with the upcoming Falcons Fury style. Call it Gargoyle or NightDivers. Delirium becomes a TimeTwister. Can't decide for Invertigo and Congo. I think if done right that area could become somewhat mystical. I wouldn't expect this all by 2014 or 15 for that matter. Btw, goodbye decoding thread and hello Miss Ohio 2014 Banshee
  12. My final guesstimate.... Banshee Theme: legend of Aibhill, hopeful river turned to blood Manufacturer: B&M :/ Type: Invert 7 car trains with modified restraints Height: 226' Drop: 218' Elevation difference between heighest elevation to lowest point of ride 289' 168' loop 8 total inversions 73 mph 4816' track length Dark blue supports burgendy and gray track
  13. Back in May a thread was made with our terrible predictions, soon we'll see who came closest. See http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27445-our-terrible-predictions/page-1#entry517817
  14. I regretfully must chime in on this inverted wing rider fiasco. Yes for a second it sounds cool but the effect would be negligible. What really makes it unlikely is how horrid the mass of support structure would end uo being. Much less how they could figure out transfer tracks, storage sheds, stations, supports for many elements for such little effect. The point of a wing rider is to sit to the side of the track and to give riders the openness of nothing being above or below. If it were inverted there would always be supports going above and beside you. For what again? So you could sit slightly lower from the track while adding onto cost and diminishing the open feeling? If that seating position was so desired why would they not just make trains with slightly lower seating? It'd sure be a lot easier.
  15. My question to those who have determined a 200' long area for the lift were you using the actual full size plotted blue prints to attempt the scale? If not that estimate is completely invalid.
  16. FPO means for placement only. That said the site could very well be what's coming. Granted a few changes in words and numbers which would be fairly easy and everything changes.
  17. I've read through every page of this thread (not just now but since its inception) and I hope I'm not bringing up something previously mentioned. I do wonder now given this coaster will likely only occupy a small portion of SOB's prior layout. Could this coaster have originally been intended to co-exist with SOB?
  18. I have no idea about CP the weekend after KIPN Sept 7th & 8th are Cedar Points bonus weekend if history repeats itself it should be pretty light crowds.
  19. Gathering a decent crew for the event. Should be a fair representation of us Tennessee boys. Still trying to increase the crew for Cedar Point the following Sat/Sun though.
  20. However, had you limited your research to this thread you'd have discovered it was discussed over 12 days ago. Is this like thinking Columbus discovered America?
  21. I wish they would bring back at least the look and feel of that TV ad for The Bat when introducing what's next.
  22. As we've all been spending so much time and focus decoding the near future of Action Zone. I thought it might be enjoyable to think of the future of another, somewhat controversial portion of the park in Dinosaurs Alive. While I do think it'll continue as is for the time being I do feel a day will come when the popularity will no longer warrant additional investments to it. So when that day comes what should become of Dinosaurs Alive? I'll throw out some thoughts. Should it be removed leaving no trace, leaving the area for future expansion? Keep most everything and install an awesome putt-putt course and go-carts? Turn the path into a prehistoric river adventure? Or perhaps safari style in jeeps.
  23. ^ Very unlikely obviously, however I'll say that the thought of fallen trees on terrain coasters through the woods. That thought is scarier than anything involving the ride itself.
  24. Out of the inverts I've been on Volcano is by far my favorite. Which got me thinking, with the rumblings of B&M wanting to develop an in house launch coaster. What if they decided to make their debut on an invert? A guy can dream right?
  25. I've thought along those lines and a tunnel coming out in the old water tower location would be cool. Problem is there are footers going in that direction now. If it were going to be a tunnel, those footers would have to be underground not at or above ground level. They would have nothing over there now, or be digging a trench in that direction and laying out the bottom of the trench with concrete and/or footers. Unless it was like this http://cache.rcdb.com/i4utp4f0s9eb0001ql6mk1.jpg
