  1. Well, whatever suits you. And I was not trying to bring race into this, so my deepest apologies to anyone who took it that way. In any case, in another post Inraider was wondering what show TR:TR will be on. I was told last year by a park rep. that the show is Extreme Rides 2003. Unfortunately, I'll be in Indianapolis at the Indy 500 when it premieres. If somebody tapes it, tell me. I've been waiting months to see that thing.
  2. Actually, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Delirium's height requirement the same as TR:TR's? Oh, and as for Inraiders text, if someone can call me white, I can call them black. Your either African or American. Come to think of it, if you moved to France, would they call you an American French person? I doubt it.
  3. I went to PKI on a cheerleading night and the park was packed. Because I was with my cousins I couldn't ride TR:TR right off The Bat and had to ride some otherwise wussy rides. It didn't matter to me though, the line was across the street to the outfitters store. About 25 mins. before closing we enter TR's line. It's still backed up thru all the turnstiles except for half of the last one. During turnstile waiting it breaks down twice and is repaired in roughly 15 mins. each time. My father warned me if it broke down once more, we would bail(this being his first upside down ride, he doesn't even ride AE). We make it all the way through and get on after 2.5 hours of waiting, then it breaks down while we were on it. We finnaly get a ride on it after they test it. It took us about 3 hours and 15 mins. for a 2.5 min. TR ride in September after closing. And I still loved it.
  4. Actually, no, Paramount can't acquire the rights, and if they did, who in their right mind would want to waste them on AE. You could build a dark ride or maybe a wooden wild mouse in a tomb or something. I don't mean to be offensive, but it just won't happen. Lucas and Spielberg truly own the rights and they've already got a partnership with Disney for Indy rides. There just so happens to be a backwards looping steel coaster in some disney park in paris I believe that's themed to indy. And as we all know, Indy Jones in Disneyland, or as I like to refer to it, the single greatest ride ever made in amusement park history. I could ride that thing all day. Sadly Disneyworld got crappy Dinsosaur. If they built Indy in Disneyworld, I'd never visit Disneyland again, which is of course why they won't.
  5. Supposedly the park could be adding tunnels to the helixes and possibly first drop for the SOB's 5th anniversary, I believe I heard something about them putting tunnel's on The Beast's helixes for it's 5th anniversary, I could be wrong though, I'm only 15, I wasn't alive for The Beast's 5th year.
  6. Thanks for the not bashing me guys, I know alot of you are big SDATHC fans, so I'd like to apologize if I came across that I did not enjoy Scooby. I was tired this morning and going to school, so I was a little frustrated. To make sense of what I said about it not being complete, 1, there were 3d characters which were excellent but not enough of them, 2, in between the scenes you could clearly see the building walls and exit doors because of incomplete theming, 3, the station was very dull and you could easily see the rafters(hence the relation with TR:TR), and 4, the ride was not a very big departure from PT in terms of que area. It seemed more like a fearfest transformation for kids than a new ride. But then again, when the hb land ride in there was turned into the smurfs, they kept the same ride system and most walls I believe, so I guess it makes sense. With tweaking this ride could live up to my very high standards of dark rides. But I won't be able to completely accept this attraction until the park gets another dark ride, or even a really scary haunted house.
  7. Man, Phantom was seriously hated by these boards. Well, good for you, you'll have more fun than me for the next ten years this unfinished ride is in place, which is exactly what it is. Like TR PKI manages to forget the essentials of a dark ride and unveils the fakeness in everything for everyone to see. As far as Disney and Phantom Theater go, incase you haven't noticed, the ride system of PT is extremely similar to the Haunted Mansion's, as well as the theming. Well, I'll stop there as I'm sure I'm gonna get alot of hate mail for this. Scooby's great fun, I just would like to have seen a bigger transformation from Phantom, that's all.
  8. According to the powers that be, they have closed the topics on TR's new program which me and Inraider both heard about at the Delirium photo shoot, not opening weekend. Park execs and Siebert confirmed this. Believe it or not, they told us. So if for fun they lied to us, then we are wrong, but we felt it was good enough for the boards. But none of us will know for sure until 2004.
  9. I'd like to second what Inraider said, I was sitting next to him at the time and heard all of this. I am definetly excited about 2004. But for now, 2003 is looking good, and with the new restaraunts it's tasty too.
  10. I personally find more re-ride value with scooby. However I respect PT about a thousand times more than Scooby. They just need to hide the fakeness in it and fix the station, then I can feel comfortable with it. Or they can make me another haunted house, which I am hoping for anyways. Or atleast some more dark rides. In the end, I got more enjoyment and generally felt better about having Phantom Theater. It was the only Disney like ride outside of disney until TR showed up. I will definetly miss it. Still, blasting ghosts is a definete plus, and it's nice to see that building packing in the kiddies with a ride that actually fits it's area of the park.
  11. We allready know they won't be adding mist, that rusted the tracks when it was in place. They did fix the tunnel, but it just sucks without any trees. They also said there would be no new tunnel. I hope they turn the lights on at night atleast. I do believe however that they are in the process of adding new theming to the ride during the park's off days. I'll ride it in a month and find out. It just bugs me how bad it is now.
  12. I get the feeling this isn't going to be an easy task. If you've payed attention to every detail of this wonderful ride, you'd know it has a soundtrack that is timed in synch with the ride cycle, so, it stands to reason that to change the cycle, you would have to either add new music tracks to the musical score allready in place, or loop a section over, or do it the cheap way and have no music or sound effects.
  13. This is just me, but hanging 77 people over boiling lava upside down for nearly a minute as steam and water is shot in their face as they scream bloody murder doesn't warrant a 5, what will? And is TR:TR the first Giant Top Spin in the world? If so, that's an awesome fact I wish I had knew before. Thinking about it, I guess TR:TR isn't really that stressfull, unless you have sinuses. In the fall my head feels like a drum riding that. Ouch.
  14. After riding Adventure Express, I was very, very dissapointed with PKI. They turned a neat ride that needed more plants to make it excellent, and ripped out all the ones that were allready there. They did fix the ending, but hey, that doesn't make up for the destruction they did to the rest of the ride. I hope they plan on putting in new plants and trees, because riding it now just saddens me.
  15. Coney Mall is awesome, but I don't like seeing those ugly pole barns and cruddy old white fences when I ride The Racer or walk to FOF. Hey PKI, how about tear down that crap and build a huge coaster right there with a ton of trees around it. And yes, I understand the need for the pole barns, it just for some strange reason bugs me. But, my favorite area is Rivertown, hands down. TR:TR is the most thrilling dark ride anywhere, The Beast is the best coaster anywhere, and White Water Canyon is the best water ride in the park. And the woods make a very peaceful setting.
  16. Personally, I feel the park will never "re-theme" TR:TR until the building and ride system is used for something else in about 30 years. Of course, if the TR movie chain continues, like I think it will, I believe it could stay around for longer than that. As for extra theming from the cradle of life movie, don't count on it. TR:TR is themed and completely based around the original TR movie and the Illuminati, which is impressive considering the ride came out less than a year after the movie released in theaters. And yes, the Huss rep. was working on TR, I seen him drive his rental car back to it Sunday. There were trucks and cars flying in and out of there all day. However, I knew it would not open because they kept the shutters closed. That generally indicates it's broke beyond simple repair, in my experiences atleast. I would however expect that lighting effects and more special effects will be added to the ride, in addition to possibly theming the ramps and walls of the ride room, not to mention the que ceiling, in 2004. At the Delirium photo shoot, Inraider got his wishes confirmed that TR:TR will be longer and much more intense for 2004 by a man who designed it, I believe. I believe he claimed he didn't have the time this year, which is ok because they simply just need to get it to stay running at this point.
  17. The park "anticipates" that TR:TR will have Lara and Guests busting tombs again this weekend, however, the ride is also pending further adjustments. This is straight from David Mandt, and I believe it to be a sign that Tomb Raider will not regain operation for a couple of weeks. I personally have grown to hate the word adjustments in the same sentence as Tomb Raider: The Ride. It seems the entire TR franchise is late this year, with Angel of Darkness pushed back and the ride in a state of disrepair. I know this is not news to most people but I figured I might as well lay it out there for people who didn't know, or don't remember the ride's track record. To answer Inraider's question on what happened with the ride, it seems in another post by (I can't remember their name)they said that after waiting for the ride to reopen, they boarded and the ride started, and was close to finishing it's cycle, but the vehicle itself broke down, and swung until lights came on, and the ride was manually brought into the station and the restraints were opened with an air compressor. So it seems the ride is suffering some extreme technical issues. Fortunately, this is the only ride in the entire park, short of the backward's racer and secrets of the lost temple, that was not in operation, even all water rides were up and running. So, except for TR:TR, we should give PKI a standing ovation for bringing the park back online even though they had 3 brand new rides on their hands.
  18. I think INRaider is referring to the annoying floor boards, which by the way, were still there, atleast in the back seat. It was bad too. I could only bring myself to wait in line for it once, and I won't ride it again until the new restraints are in place, that seriously hurt! For an hour my head felt like it had a vice on it.
  19. Just wait until next year. I have a feeling we will be getting either an awesome but small steel, like Face-Off, tethered with a new waterworks attraction, super saturatior, and then in 2005 get a massive and memorable steel coaster, hopefully top 10 material. But more than likely I've got it in reverse, 2004=Massive Top 10 Coaster(Top 10 inferring not just the biggest, but the best, like Beast)2005=Smaller Thrilling Coaster, Saturator. I'd definetly look to see more dark rides entering PKI as the years start flying by. Problably another one when we build another world. Remember, PKI's philosophy is the best coasters, not the biggest, and rides for everyone, flat, thrilling flat, dark, kids, water, free waterpark, or coasters. Not to mention the worlds' theming. Cedar Points is numbers and records, which is not a bad way to go either, but all you'll attract is thrill riders. However I have nothing against Cedar Point and am happy they once again have the most coasters in the world(Magic Mountain claimed too last year). I just want to see PKI have the best or most memorable.
  20. Does it have any TR:TR specs or info in it? Just wondering because it's hard to get alot of info on that thing sometimes. Plus, I would love to hold my little handbook and look for things it mentions as I wait in line for it. It'd be better than looking at the monkeys.
  21. As we all know Delirium is awesome and not over rated in anyway. Scooby looks great and should become a signature ride for the park. But what was really interesting to me was the new fastpass lines that could be seen on Scooby and Delirium. It's definetly a change of pace for the park. Mandarin Cuisine or whatever it was called looked very good and finnaly gives the International Street a little taste of International food. The Bubba Gump Shrimp place looks very good and big. I couldn't see Subway but I'm sure it'll fit in nicely. The park is coming together, but most posters from the end of 2002 are still hanging around in display boxes, but alot of painting and serious maintenance was going on, so 2003 should be a very good year for PKI. Oh yeah, though Kylee Bernardo insists that the King Cobra landspace(Delirium takes up only half of it)has no new ride construction on it, it does look leveled and several bulldozers and trucks could be seen there. However they are most likely just cleaning up after the heavy Delirium construction. But overall the whole lot of Delirium, from covered que line, computer and power house, to station, all has nice plants and mulch surrounding it. And if your in the que line when the ride comes down your in for a very strong gust of wind.
  22. On a small side note, did anyone notice the Tomb Raider soundtrack in Survivor Thailand? In the opening episode they played music from it all the time. Maybe more of that Viacom tie in between Paramount and CBS showing...
