    The ERT Poll

I voted for Firehawk and Drop Tower. I rarely make it to KI any more, living pretty far away now. But even when I do, I often don't ride Firehawk because of the crazy long lines. And Drop Tower is one of my favorite rides there, but I normally only get one ride on it because of the lines there as well.
  2. Wow another Dolphins fan beside me! Sorry, FoF.. I'm not a Dolphins fan. I went down just as an opportunity to get to florida, haha. Seeing an NFL game was just an added bonus Speaking of bonuses, have you seen their cheerleaders?
  3. I've stayed at East Harbor State Park almost every summer of my life. I actually love the place. The rangers are very friendly and the campground is really nice, especially the facilities. I've also stayed at Bayshore, the KOA right by the park. Would not recommend this for anything other than sleeping. And even that's a challenge, with numerous trains running by all through the night...
  4. I think the major advantage of gold passes is the parking. If you happen to go on a day where your two kids who have the gold passes DON'T go, you'll have to pay for parking. If you have younger kids who can't drive, you can probably get away with a regular pass for them. But I think gold is the best option for anyone who might visit the park by themselves.
  5. ^Still more exciting than Desert Bus. If you don't know what that is, I suggest you look it up. You basically drive a bus from Tucson, AZ to Las Vegas in REAL TIME. And no pausing. 8 straight hours of gameplay.
  6. If only I had forgone the engineering degree for communications! Doh! j/k. But that would be an amazing job, no doubt about it.
  7. You're all wrong. KI recently got licensing to bring back The Outer Limits for FoF, and the aliens came down to check out the state of the ride since their last departure.
  8. Great report Dave. This one really hit home with me because if you recall I made pretty much the same trip last year. I went on a Sunday in January, and had essentially the same result. Extremely dead park with a lot of re-rides. It stinks that Colossus and S:TE were closed... they both had one side open when I went. For what it's worth, S:TE was really not impressive at all, but at the same time it's one of those rides where even though it may not be that great, you're still really proud of the credit haha. I can't say I agree with you about Goliath though. I was not really a fan at all of that thing. It seemed way too short, and the MCBR was absolutely brutal when I rode it. And even with the MCBR almost completely stopping the train, the helix was really powerful. I can't imagine the end of that ride with the brake turned off. But hey, to each his own, right? Either way this report really brought back some fantastic memories. Just like you, the trip I took was one of the best days in any park I've ever had. Now I'm really aching to go back haha. Thanks a lot! -Dvo
  9. Amen. It'll be nice to have a quick food option, other than that dumpster on the causeway known as McDonald's.
  10. Can't say I like paying ballpark prices for beer. But I will say the Miami Dolphins do it right... they sell Landshark Lager for the same price as your standard crap beers. Good stuff. Now if ballparks could just sell Newcastle for that price...
  11. I go every year.. and I can assure you you'll have a good time. The ERT sessions are plenty long to get several rides on whatever you want. I do recommend going to the food social hour on Friday evening. They usually have a really good buffet of food. As for the keynote, I think it's a 50/50. A lot of people go to it, but I wouldn't feel bad about missing it. Other than that, just make sure you know the schedule, and try to plan ahead on what rides you really want to ride. After that it's just a matter of doing it. Oh, and make certain you're ready for a physically testing weekend. By the end of Saturday, you will be exhausted!
  12. Ok... I'm changing my mind. I want a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater with the entire park as a map. Rides and everything. The Beast grind, anyone?
  13. Happy New Year, everyone. This year I'm hoping to get a promotion at work, and really cut back on the amount of time I spend playing video games. The world's too big to spend it in one place. Unless that place is amusement parks...
  14. They give you Pony Express, but not Xcelerator? What a sham. I'll pass, thanks.
  15. Who wants dippin dots when you can get Thanksgiving Dinner?
  16. Seriously? With all that lumber? SoB is a massive structure. The newer steel models, however... now THOSE look crazy to me. See: Behemoth @ CW. Or even Diamondback.
  17. ^Agreed. But with less "ka-CHUNKs" and slamming around. Of course we can't see the other end of the track...
  18. Very shady situation indeed. I'm on the side of the fence where quite honestly, I don't care what happens to the ride. I would like to see something happen though, so at least the people who did donate money can rest assured that it was indeed used for something.
  19. I'd be curious to see how they do the pre-ride films. That was a really cool ride (and movies!) when I went last January.
  20. ...Or seeing any surrounding area from 450 feet in the air. Even inland New Jersey.
  21. Personally I won't be defiant toward that at all. In fact I would encourage it! Dvo, running for the door.
  22. ^lol. Things I thought about this... 1) This brings a whole new meaning to InTrimidator. 2) Nothing like cuttin off a little fat before the holidays! 3) New for Cedar Point in 2012... Son of MF
  23. Um, quick question.. What is Son of Beast? I don't see that on the park map..
