  1. If they're moving scenery out of the ride to allow for accessibility, it seems like they'd be doing some serious work on the ride. Something maybe wrong with the ride mechanism, perhaps?

What's wrong with that statement? Magnetic brakes can't fail... just like friction brakes can't fail. Right, Magnum XL-200? Right, Beast? I don't know what story that is. What is fuiled?
  3. Ha wow, I totally forgot that it used to be called Amazon Falls until you said that. Good catch!
  4. wow this thread is intense. calm down! The point is, some people think that Cedar Fair's purchase of Paramount Parks has been horrible for KI, while others think that it's just a transitional stage. I, personally, am the latter. Give it time, and I'm sure things will improve. But as far as this thread goes, I think constructive criticism will work just fine. Keep the banter to yourselves, jeez.
  5. well then. Since you've already posted the story, I won't. I just figured I'd summarize rather than take the time to find the story.
  6. ^did you not read the last few comments? Try reading the thread rather than just the last comment.
  7. A 17-yr old girl living in the dormitories was apparently forced by two 30-something year old employees also living in the dorms to go into their room, and they were watching porn at the time. I guess the older guy threatened the girl or something. I'm not really sure about the details, but the girl called her mother because she felt threatened and the two people got some jail time for showing porn to a minor.
  8. It seems like there's a lot of bad stuff going on this year with amusement park employees. This incident, the porn thing at Cedar Point, the assault at Six Flags Over Georgia, and the girl dying from the scrambler ride (can't remember where that was). I've never really noticed so many problems with park staff before.
  9. lol this thread is hilarious! I love when people make all these spooky threats. I'm going to be in Cincinnati the weekend of October 5, and I'm going to try to make it up to FearFest. We'll see what happens.
  10. You obviously can't put Jesus in the wavepool... He'll just walk across it
  11. ^good call haha. Adventure Express is a lot of fun IMO. Perfect for the family. Though that screaming squirrel really does look fun...
  12. ^I don't think this is the end at all for Geauga Lake. It was a really nice park years ago before Six Flags came in and ruined it. That park was not meant for there to be huge roller coasters all over the place. It was a nice family-atmosphered park that was a lot of fun for everyone. But then Six Flags threw down tons of concrete and steel and ruined that image. Cedar Fair is now trying to restore the park back to its beautiful state. I think it's more of a new beginning than an end.
  13. that's a good scenario i guess, but it could seriously be anything. This story kind of worries me because my brother and my friend are officers for KI Police.
  14. Anyone have closer photos of this area?
  15. I want to smack myself in the forehead after reading this thread. On that note, if you REALLY want to know if they're getting a roller coaster, wait until they release a press statement that they're getting a roller coaster. This past off-season they released a statement that they were getting Firehawk. That's a good way of finding out. *end sarcasm*
  16. 184 laps in one day? That's immense! That means that there are about 31 trains per hour (assuming this happened on a 10 am - 10 pm weekday. (184/12 = 15.3) Is that even possible? That means a train is departing faster than once every 2 minutes. And the ride itself is more than 2 minutes long. Did you get some extra rides in when the park wasn't in operation?
  17. See my signature. I also rode Viking Fury one time 32 times in a row. Then I got a little queasy.....
  18. No offense, but those ads are not worth even watching. Almost every amusement park commercial I've ever seen includes roller coasters that aren't actually at the park. It always made me wonder why they do that. It's not like KI doesn't have enough good rides to attract people. Most parks that DO advertise have good enough rides. seems kinda weird.
  19. ^I'm not sure what ur saying with the whole six flags tic-tac thing... If you're saying that Six Flags season passes are cheap, you're VERY wrong. They cost upwards of $160 with a parking pass. And for the record, this forum got WAY out of hand haha.
  20. That's true too... But KI still has plenty of other space to expand... I think it would be great. And it would help with the ridiculous walk to the gates when the main lot gets full (though on a day like that you should just turn around and go home).
  21. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *runs and hides from Mat* Man, why can't you just enjoy your job, mat? sorry.. had to do it
  22. Wow, I never knew that. Crazy foreigners... Did you know people who took part in that program?
  23. I've been going to Cedar Point every summer for about 10 years now, and I really love the back entrance to the park by Soak City. You can walk right on Magnum XL-200 in the morning and then get to the back of the park by Maverick really fast. I think Kings Island could do something like this too, by having a parking lot behind Boomerang Bay. This could provide access to the back of the waterpark, and also an entrance to KI near the railroad station. I think it would be really convenient and would help spread out the morning crowd better. Thoughts?
  24. Thanks a lot! It sounds kind of nerve-wracking, but I bet it would be a lot of fun nonetheless! It seems somewhat difficult to scare people in an open area like that, but I bet that's why they do it. I'd like to be a judge and see what people come up with. Do you talk to the people? Or do you just scream and yell at them? Sorry about all the questions... this just seems really intriguing to me.
