So a path under a ride, a height variation, and the addition of one inversion makes it a unique style? I'm going to have to go ahead and say no. Riddler's Revenge is very unique in that it's simply the best stand-up out there. And while I do love stand-up coasters, I agree with everyone else. They're a thing of the past. Parks that already have them will keep them, but other parks don't want to invest in them because of their low capacity. Mantis only runs 2 trains, and they stack every single circuit because of the restraint check-time. And I think B&M is looking into new ideas, not refining old ones, for their new developments.

Halloween Haunt Kings Island?

Maybe Cedar Fair is looking for a unique name for all of their parks? -

Have there been any ads out yet? That would tell you, if anything. -
Tell me again how Mantis and Iron Wolf's "style" is so much different from Chang's and Riddler's Revenge? And how will this new "style" vary so much from what is already out there?

^What about Mantis and Iron Wolf?

It looks like those paths are definitely queue paths. I could see a FF attraction, but it seems a little odd that they build a structure solely for FearFest. All of their other haunted houses have been located in buildings that already existed (or paths). If they're building something, I personally think that it's something that will be used for the entire season.

Really? I thought that you had to enter in one of the gates with the black light lamp so that the employee can see the stamp. And I thought that there was only one or two of those.
-
Yes. You just go out the main gate on the right hand side (when facing outward) and you can get your hand stamped. Then you can go back into the park in the same gate.

Who said anything about it being cheaper to rebuild? In fact, who said anything about rebuilding at all? Also note above when I said: "However, if tearing it down leads to another coaster, I'd do it for free!"
-
You put way too much thought into that.
-
What movies are you working on?
-
SOB is too big to remove. It would probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars just to tear it down, much less rebuild another ride in its place. However, if tearing it down leads to another coaster, I'd do it for free!

I really want to get to WDW again. I just graduated from Bradley University as a Mechanical Engineer, and I got to work for Walt Disney World on my senior project. It was a fantastic experience. Now I just want to see the results

My Opinion on the Future of Cedar Fair
Dvo replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't think that GWL competes with KI. I bet that most of the people that stay at GWL go to KI at least one day. I think people that were originally trying to plan a trip to KI see GWL as an upgrade for the hotel that they had previously intended to stay at. I doubt that many people go to GWL ONLY for GWL. -
Have you heard the story about the dog? Some people got really injured riding the Crystal Beach Cyclone, so when they took it to court, the judge made the ride owner prove that it was safe. So he put his dog on the ride, and it came back fine and the judge deemed it safe. As far as new coasters... one word. Intamin.

I'm just curious as to why you spent a few hours watching employees "meet" in a bathroom.

Top Ten Amusement Parks Outside Orlando

This list has no credibility. -
I don't think that's true at all. When people go to Disney, they expect to have a fantastic time. That's because Disney has made that reputation for themselves with years of pleasing their guests. The parks are good because Disney developed them very well. Not because they have the Disney name.

Haha good point. I'm just gonna have to go out on a limb and say that whomever wrote this article has no clue what is going on. It seems like they're just trying to find 10 very different parks, hence the various park themes, i.e. Africa, Western, oceanfront, mountain trail, etc. This list is almost absurd if you ask me. -
^Also agreed. Disney is without question leading the pack (even if I do think BGE is more beautiful). Look at attendance numbers for Disney Parks. They blow everyone else out of the water. And that's on a per-day basis, not just because they operate 365 days a year.

I took this trip four years ago, hitting those 2 parks in two days. I agree with you on all counts (obviously except for Griffon seeing as though it wasn't there). Busch Gardens Europe is easily the most beautiful park I've been in. I even take it over Magic Kingdom at WDW. And Apollo's Chariot was easily the best B&M Hyper I've been on. Great ride. I also think that Hypersonic's blast is more intense than TTD's, but only because the launch time is so short! Hypersonic gets to 2/3 the speed of TTD in probably 1/3 of the track length. It really is madness. I really need to see those two parks again.

My Opinion on the Future of Cedar Fair
Dvo replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I remember being at the park one day either the year they installed the metal detectors, or the year after, and I heard that there was a man trying to get in the park with a knife but security obviously wouldn't let him. So he threatened to kill himself if they didn't let him in. I don't really know what happened, but I think they negotiated with him. My brother works as a police officer for KI and was telling me about it that day. -
Good post, interpreter. I think SOB was just a poor design to begin with. The rose bowl is pretty intense, and the first drop is obviously good. But it seems like all of the other parts of the ride are just boring.. The trains just kind of glide over the hills; the turns aren't quick at all. It doesn't give that feeling of being out of control. I wish they invested in a Gravity Group or Intamin woodie (i.e. Voyage or El Toro) instead of SOB.

^agreed. Cedar Point calls Maverick a "Terra Coaster." No one really knows what that means, but it's assume that they refer to it by that name because the coaster is based on low-to-the-ground-maneuvers and quick turns. Just because a coaster goes vertical doesn't mean it's a dive coaster, i.e. Wicked Twister, TTD, Mystery Mine
