    Take a Ride Out

And I don't think we'll be seeing another stand-up coaster for a long time, if ever again.

Oi, I can't even imagine going over that drop without a seatbelt and the restraint basically all the way up. And I heard that she was in the last car - is that correct? Because I rode Raven last row twice, and that's some of the craziest air I've ever gotten. Now to get that without anything holding you back...
  3. So basically they just took a power saw to the track pieces, correct? Sad...
  4. Speaking of the new name, has anyone heard or seen anything for the new logo? We already know what BLSC and The Crypt's logos will look like, and can probably guess on Invertigo (based off the logo out in California), but I've seen nothing for FD.
  5. Huh, and all this time I could have sworn that was a statue of the Roman consul Cincinnatus, the namesake for the city of Cincinnati...
  6. never mind http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg96/co...pg?t=1198292201 this is the only good picture i took of an amusment park this year Were you at a place with like a light house and stuff when you took this? Because that picture looks very simaler to a picture that I took a while back from when we took a trip to CP. if you are talking about a place with a short and fat light house then yes I want to say he's talking about the Marblehead lighthouse, correct?
  7. Actually I don't believe that Ron Toomer was involved in Tennessee Tornado. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though. And about some steelies resembling woodies, I can see the connection. Steel out-and-back coasters take on the same general formula as wooden out-and-backers, albeit usually to a much greater height and length. Take Maggie and Blue Streak at CP, for example. Both have a large (in comparison to the rest of the ride) first hill, followed by several airtime hills, then a turnaround, more airtime hills, and the final brake run sequence of elements. While some might have some extras thrown in there, or a different kind of turnaround, they all follow the same general principle of lift-hills-turnaround-hills-station. The same can be said of steel twisters and wooden twisters.
  8. I really liked this one I snapped on my way to The Racer.
  9. I would like to see them fix the station effects, back to what it was before they decided to keep the station lights on at all times.
  10. I guess word hasn't gotten out to Colorado that its no longer a Paramount park.
  11. ^Yeah, I'll probably be making a trip to GAdv this summer when I'm visiting a friend in NYC, so it might come in handy to know what to do, what to expect, etc.
  12. I work at the movie theater when I'm home for break, and they supply us with our uniforms. The only thing we need to buy ourselves is the shoes. Next season I'm thinking along the lines of everyone else. General improvements, renamed Paramount rides, and maybe a new show or two.
  13. I haven't been down to the Oregon District yet, but I was over at The Greene earlier today. It's really nice over there, albeit a bit small. But as it looks like there's more going up, it should be really nice in the next few years. Oh, and we ate at The Pub there, and it was really, really good. If anyone is in that area, I'd suggest checking it out.
  14. Not sure about all of you, but I think the thing I enjoy most about Dayton is the UD Ghetto. Good times down there...
  15. I was stuck on the second lift hill of Cedar Creek Mine Ride for a few minutes last year for God-knows-what.
  16. I can see how you might think it looks Photoshopped with the supports, but I disagree. I think there might be 2 sets of supports on the left, next to each other. The ones in front which look off are most likely for the track on the return trip after the turnaround. So to me, it looks 100% real.

Uhhh... No? I highly doubt that CF will have The Beast removed just because it is no longer the world's longest woodie. That's just a ridiculous statement.
  18. Get through the college coursework that comes with being a Biology major. And rocking out to all my classic rock on my computer. Many, many times. I'll probably get to several movies (and definitely see some for free when I go back to work at the theater over my breaks) - that new one, Vantage Point, looks interesting. I may have to check that one out when it's released. I wish I could catch up on sleep, but with my class schedule, that's not happening anytime soon (except on the weekends).
  19. Oh yes, I'm already a proud, card-carrying member of People for Eating Tasty Animals.
  20. I agree - that would fit nicely into the X-Base area.
  21. Looks to me like an S&S Sky Swat. I've never been on one, but they look insane. One of those would be one hell of an addition to X-Base.
  22. Well, I don't think many people will know what a rainy TTD feels like, since it goes down anytime rain is in the area. And I really don't think I want to know how it feels, either. MF, on the other hand, is a totally different ride. I went on it during steady rain, but nothing really heavy. It didn't hurt too much, but it was definitely a different experience. Going down that first drop in the rain was like nothing else in the world.
  23. Mysteriously closed down... More like maXair blew a drive motor... again. I was up at CP this past weekend, and theres some parts and what looks like some sort of drive belt that is off the ride and draped over the top of the arm. I would highly doubt that it will re-open before the end of the season. I think they are just going to wait until the off-season to fix it and get it up and running next year. I've noticed that CP is a lot better at filling the pre-ride queue that KI is. The maXair crew has been really good at filing in 50 people and giving them their seat number before the previous ride cycle has ended, which is not what I can say for the Delirium crew. My guess is that that might have something to do with the higher pph capacity, since a lot of the time people are still getting their seat assignments when the previous ride cycle has ended on Delirium.
  24. Even though we already received one coaster from GL in Firehawk? I highly doubt that we would somehow get two coasters from the park - other parks in the chain would probably benefit from them moreso than KI.
