I really don't think that SOB could be converted to the Gemini, AE type steel. Banks and curves extremely jerky feeling on that steel tubing,and sonny is filled with banks and curves. I would kill myself if SOB got that stupid steel tubing.

when i'm at K.I. i really hate guests who: 1. bouncing basket balls 2. line jumpers ( and i've had to put up with tons of those!) 3. people who tear up the props ( saw this at fearfest, and I couldn't believe it.) 4. another fearfest complaint: those annoying teenage girls that scream off the top of their lungs when they're right behind you at stuff not even meant to be scary 5. people too busy talking to notice the line moving ahead of them

I know exactly what you mean. I live about 20 minutes south of Indy and there is absolutely nothing to do there. The city is really going down hill too. I think that with this new stadium thing, the possibility of getting our own theme park could go up. Ofcourse, no one wants to go the stadium except people from Indy anyway, so. I have noticed that a LOT of KI guests are from Indiana or the Indianapolis area. ALso, Indy is a great city navigational wise. You can get here directly from an interstate from alot of different places. I think that would help. But, personally as a resident of that area (not for long though, going to Purdue in August), I would not want to go to Indy even if it had a theme park. SImply put, it is an ugly city with nothing going for it.

i gotta say, the Viking Fury. something about it makes me feel uncomfortable.

I think 2001:A Space Odyssey ride would be cool. Or Akira. On RCT, I always name the hedge mazes The Overlook Hedge maze. I love The Shining.

First of all, just because America happens to be the fattest country in the world (which Americans should definitely not be proud of), doesn't mean that large people have to be accomodated for. Just as The Interpreter proved, you don't have to stay that way. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but it doesn't have to be a problem. Also, I don't like the music at Cedar Point, but I hate classic rock. How about classical music, like strauss, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky. That is good music that most people can ignore. And about Cedar Point, just because they don't have the exact same roller coaster designs, doesn't mean that they are better or worse than King's Island. You can argue that KI doesn't have a true stand-up or stratacoaster or whatever. I know what you mean about liking KI better on a sentimental level. Same goes for me. There is just something about the atmosphere at KI that keeps me going there. I love it.

i agree on the tunnel, the fog, and the old looking station. This small amount of theming would have gone a long way. But it doesn't really matter that much to me, atleast they put the money in to fix it.

This is very sad sad news. I pray deeply for the girl and her friends and family. Could you imagine how it must feel. To think that SHE STOOD in line for that to happen. And it might be the last time that she ever will. This is very very sad. The ride should be destroyed. m.f.21 No offense, but I was just wondering why did you quote me? Plus, Cedar Fair has gone through great lengths to make sure that SOB is safe, but if they found that it was ok to open the other Drop Zones, and having found nothing wrong with the KI one, why would they keep it closed longer? Any I hope DZ is ok and opens in a short amount of time.

I don't really think comments like that are called for. This could ruin her life. It is like she hurt her back a little or something.

You would think that Power Tower at CP would close. Is it just run by compressed air or does it have cables?

Interestingly, on the SFKK website, Superman: Tower of Power is no longer on the ride list.

King's Island contains more land than Cedar Point, yet CP has Millenium Force and Magnum. KI could easily get a world class hyper.

As time goes on we will know more, yet many rumors are sure to generate from this.

Well, let's hope that this was clearly a coincidence, but if not, I agree that it is good that DZ and all other drop rides close until investigations are complete and everything is alright in the world again.

the cable snapped (according to the video on WLKY's website). Drop Zone doesn't use the same kind of cable system that Kentucky Kingdom uses, but who knows how this will effect things.

that would definitely not be worth it. Regular ticket buyers would not want to buy tickets and pay for the attractions. Plus, 5 dollars is quite ridiculous.

The first year FOF opened, my dad and I were stuck for 40 minutes because one of the ride ops forgot to close the OTSR on an empty car, so it did an e-stop right after the blast off. The had to physically roll us back in. I also got stuck on the lift of Top Gun for 20 minutes and the 2nd lift of Iron Dragon for 10. On ID, this girl was freaking out because it was her first roller coaster.

When I was younger, my dad took me to Kentucky Kingdom because they featured many Batman themes and I was a big batman fan (and still am). I can also say that as a kid I was excited about the Batman theming, and that I was disappointed by Holiday World due to their generic theming and told my dad I didn't like Holiday World. I don't think like this anymore, but I know that my little brother that is 7 is dying to go to King's Island to ride the Avatar ride. I also know that parents will base their park decisions on what their kid wants. Cedar Point would definitely benefit from continuing to use Nick at the former Paramount Parks and extending it to their current parks.

I definitely say The Beast, but the crew for Top Gun is usually pretty great when I go.
