I am totally willing to accept that AZ Kinda Guy knows more about coasters than MOST of us will know on this board...but there is a right way and a wrong way to "enlighten" all of us lowly "fanboys". His original post about the video simply said: Now wouldn't it have been a lot nicer to Paul, and at the same time inform the uneducated to post something like this: I just thought I would point out a common misconception. The close-up video of Flight Deck's rails is not in fact chipping paint, it is residue from the wheels which builds up over a period of time. AZ Kinda Guy's next post was even less kind: I will bow to AZ Kinda Guy's superior knowledge...but I prefer to learn from polite posters such as Shaggy and The Interpreter who do not make me feel like a fool when I make a mistake. Is it any wonder that this board is becoming a ghost town.

When all is said and done my favorite thing that Cedar Fair has done to the park is the pavers...and that says a lot since I love Diamondback.
-
But you will admit that since Firehawk is a transplanted ride they certainly had a good idea what the lines would be like...so if the park had wanted to have shelves they could have just built the station bigger.
-
You just won't let that go will ya...kinda like me and my "love" for Planet Snoopy! Maybe they should add to that old saying: "An elephant never forgets...and neither does RaptorGuy or standbyme".

So that's what it takes for a keyhole photographer to get the fountain in your photo!
-
Forgive me for linking to Wikipedia, but this gives you an idea what a light curtain is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_curtain I wasn't aware that the park had these around the fountain until The Interpreter pointed it out in the past.

Although not a ride op, I would say one of the hardest jobs in the park has to be the guy you pass after riding The Crypt...it's gotta be hard constantly saying "I'm sorry...i'm sorry...i'm sorry...i'm sorry...i'm sorry..."
-
I chuckle at that too...when I see this happen I always think "Yeah, this is a government operation alright!"

My mom LOVED to take pictures...it was just the developing that she never kept up on. I was still finding 110 film cartridges a couple of years ago that she never got around to "turning in". (Note: You can wait too long to attempt to develop photos. )

I agree...I just like giving him a hard time. I have learned to never be amazed at his park history knowledge.

pcc, thanks for sharing the photos...I always love seeing old shots of the park! Oh sure, you can come up with the years...but if you REALLY wanted to impress me you would be able to determine the actual date & time!

My post was meant as a joke…as in “Oh boy, thanks for giving us that “great” announcement…now how about one that we care about”. Yes, I also believe the park knows what it has planned with SOB…they have certainly had enough time to explore all of their options, and with that in mind why not just announce it? I am SURE that the fate of SOB was on more people’s minds at the park during Halloween Haunt than “I wonder if Half Pint Brawlers are coming back next year…I sure hope they make an announcement so I can start planning now.” As The Interpreter has said many times in the past, who knows who will even own the park next year…so with that in mind, even with this announcement I don’t feel like anything is set in stone for next year. The fact that this topic was even started strikes me as just a “Ha Ha to all you naysayers who thought that the Half Pint Brawlers was an awful idea that would fail”. (This "news" could have just been added to the “Do you wanna watch a midget bleed” thread.)

I find it "amazing" that a park that can't seem to be able to decide the fate of it's own SBNO coaster sitting for over year can have already made a decision for next year's Halloween Haunt...shouldn't they have at least "thought about it" and made a decision during the off-season?!

Here is another topic where people are discussing their Halloween plans: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22909

For a short time, SOB was my favorite ride in the park...then I rode it. (Just kidding, just kidding...)

The seats farther apart go faster. I enjoy the ones farther apart much better...and as we all know anything that you enjoy goes faster. (i.e. good movies, a good song...and of course life.)

Here is an old thread about what it is like to be one of those photographers...since reading this I now take pity on them. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18051&st=40&p=312714&hl=keyhole&fromsearch=1entry312714

Or you happen to be in radio advertising...in Cincinnati no less.

Let me know when it hits eBay!

Amen! I was thinking close to the same thing...but I was thinking it was more like a fighter who has been hit so much he starts getting a little "punchy"!

Favorite Disney Park: U.S. Only
standbyme replied to coaster_junky's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Magic Kingdom is also my favorite park by far...and it reassuring that it might be what it appears if an employee also loves it. -
We already sit at the end table as you enter the door...any farther away from the stage and we would be back outside! I have worked in a music store for decades...I am the master of tuning out music that I don't want to hear...but that still does not make it any easier to carry on a conversation. It is as if you know my family! That is one of the main reasons we loved Festhaus...that and the air conditioning! Also, Topgun, thanks for the defense.

I will preface my comment by saying that I KNOW I am in the minority...but having shows in Festhaus has actually driven me and my family away from it. It used to be our favorite place to eat in the park...now we go out of our way to avoid it. It is not that the shows are necesarilly bad...we just prefer to eat in relative peace & quiet. I think the volume of the shows should be turned down a bit. (I know..."If it's too loud, your too old". ) On the off times we do choose to still eat in Festhaus due to inclimate weather we try and schedule it between the shows.
