  1. Nice trip report...thanks for taking the time to type it up!
  2. I'm hoping it's not here long enough to fade. (I know, wishful thinking.)
  3. Quite a few people who do trip reports seem to have their own little "specialty"...in your case I think what you excel in with your reports is that you are able to show just how much fun you guys have when you go to the park. That is what I enjoy the most about your reports. For someone so young you have a VERY diverse musical taste...that usually comes with age! Even though I have worked in a record store for years I can't say as I had ever heard Raffi until now! (I will also add that not only have I seen Danny & The Juniors in concert...but Guns N' Roses...so I also try to be diversified.) Your photos are a lot of fun to see...and I liked your downward shot of the tower. Keep up the good work!
  4. A few years?!! That was 14 years ago! I hope you're not planning on being a doctor..."Just take your pants off and i'll be with you in a FEW minutes".
  5. Nice to see the 2010 thread start up! Thanks for the trip report...it was a fun read. That you have...that you have. He owes you big time! I was wondering...how old is Gatorgirl...just trying to get a feel if my 5 year old nephew is going to like Boo Hill.
  6. I agree goodyellowkorn, well said! And my 2 cents for anyone who cares…I think of the 5@5 as light-hearted fun…not a hard-hitting news outlet. (Which is the way I like it.) I think there is a time and a place for everything…and as whoever it is answering the "questions" said; "Not okay to do it this way"…I agree completely. For what it's worth I am sorry that that question ruined your day.
  7. As usual a very classy/nice trip report. Thanks!
  8. I guess I will make "noise" again...and I challenge anyone to say that I do not have a right! As you can see by my above post I gave Cedar Fair credit for redoing those AWFUL old costumes...so then I read Alluna's KI Opening Day PTR...and what does she show running around our park?!!! Do we not get a good Linus walking around in our brand new area?! IF this is true I would like to see anyone defend CF for this "great" move.
  9. How I got drug back into the Snoopy vs. Nick discussion I will never know…all Cory and I were doing was discussing the differences in cohesiveness! Like I said, I did renew mine…they have just decided that since the kids won't be missing out on Spongebob & Scooby they are looking at the other parks. Don't get me wrong, I am sure they will visit the park once this year…it's just that they don't see any reason to get Season Passes…and I only brought that up to show you that the lack of Spongebob & Scooby does make a difference to some people. Gee…thanks. You must have me confused with someone else…I have NEVER claimed "my" children like the Hanna Barbera characters. (Except for Scooby) When the park drags them out I have to beg "my" children to even go up to them! They do on the other hand LOVE Looney Tunes…so you can see where another park chain might be good. Is this a case of the parents making the decision, yes…but the end result is still the same.
  10. That is what the rest of my family has decided. I am insulted by this statement...you should know me better than that.
  11. You may not hear that...but I would be willing to bet that if you truly listen you could overhear kids asking "Where's Spongebob"..."Where's Scooby". Saying I am mad is an overstatment...I am sad. BUT, as I have said several times in the past, I do not blame CF for losing Nick...I know the renewal cost was probably way too high. (I DO still blame them for Scooby though! ) AND, as for POSITIVE proof that SOME parents do care...I am the ONLY member of my family to renew my Season Pass this year. The park has lost 5 LONGTIME Season Pass members of my family...since there is no Spongebob they have decided that they would rather try something different this year...and having Snoopy as a replacement was the final nail in the coffin for them.
  12. BING! The bell rings…time for the next round… You are sidetracking the debate. My statement/slam was meant to show that it is easy to have a more cohesive area IF most of the rides are based on the same few characters…not how they came to this decision! Actually it will be easily more than that…the 6 I mentioned are the ones that are specifically themed after Snoopy…but if you throw in The Character Carousel, Race For Your Life Charlie Brown & Peanuts 500 where it is a given he will also appear…the figure goes up to at least 50%. I have already said that I have no doubt that the park can make it LOOK good...even if it is based on The Peanuts. Walt would be SO ashamed of you for not only thinking this..but actually posting it!
  13. I just ran over to the site to double check my memory...there are 18 rides...and 6 of the 18 are Snoopy. Just because Snoopy puts on a flying cap or sunglasses...it's still Snoopy! (Just like at WDW...even though Mickey dresses different at each character meal...it's still Mickey.) The balls in your court!
  14. When I read this I though "Are you kidding me?!"...but then I quickly thought of the other sections of Magic Kingdom...and I guess Fantasyland is also MY least favorite! (But only by a small margin.) I think it is hard for an adult to judge Fantasyland unless they either went to it as a child or are experiencing it through a child's eyes. I personally love Fantasyland because I enjoy seeing my nephews having such a great time. I am not sure how I would feel about that area if I visited as an adult for the first time and I wasn't with any children...it's something I will never be able to answer. (But i'm glad. ) WARNING:Peanuts bashing alert: How hard is that when the rides are named repeatedly after the same characters! (Maybe WDW can take a page from CF...Dumbo's Tea Party, Dumbo Pan, Dumbo The Pooh...)
  15. I should have been more specific...actually I did mean Magic Kingdom/Fantasyland basically. I don't know why...but whenever I think of Walt Disney World I think Magic Kingdom...the other parks are seperate entities in my opinion. When anyone says that they went to WDW I never think of Epcot, The Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. So with that said, I still beg to differ that there is anything different about Fantasyland or Nick Universe...they both are held together by the same theme...fantasy. I do not see anything other than that holding Fantasyland together, that is the only common thread. You have talking animals...just like in NU, you have magical characters...just like in NU, you have (talking) undersea creatures...just like in NU. I don't see the difference. How can you tie Snow White, Winnie The Pooh & Alice In Wonderland together except for being children's books...and if that's the case doesn't the fact that Nick is all on the same channel count? Don't get me wrong...I love them both...I just don't see how Fantasyland's concept can be considered anymore cohesive than NU.
  16. Cory...you KNOW I respect your opinion...but how can someone who loves the fantasy world of WDW make such a statement?!
  17. Oh believe me, I am a sniper bidder 99% of the time...the auction just ended at a bad time for me...so I just put in the max that it was worth to me and hoped for the best. I have no hard feelings...obviously you wanted it more than I did.
  18. Congrats on your win...now you can console me on my loss!
  19. All I will say here is that they moved it in the complete opposite way that I would have wanted. Last year we ate at the Backyard BBQ on each & every one of our visits...we thought it was great bargain compared to everything else in the park...the only problem we had was the time. We would eat a VERY light lunch and then hang on to eat a nice big dinner...there is no way we will be able to do that this year...5:30 is just to long for us to last. When I come to the park it is usually with 4-6 other family members...so eating in the park has always been a financial challenge...that is why we loved the BY BBQ. (We could at least justify the $9.99 a piece.) With the time change I don't forsee us being able to use this anymore. I predict we will go back to our hotel and have a nice dinner earlier in the day and then coming back to the park.
  20. Now I feel bad...I really do hate to hurt anyone's feelings. If you talk to me in person I am very good at dancing around the truth if I don't like something...but for some reason when I have a negative comment about what the park is doing I have no problem posting it. (I DO always strive to make it constuctive criticism though.) I'm wondering if I make someone's day at the park when I compliment something...I wonder if they're like "Guess what? standbyme actually liked one of our ideas!!!" (For the record I did compliment the park yesterday on their new Linus costume.)
  21. Woo Hoo! I finally have something about The Peanuts coming that is at least good news for me! One of my MAJOR complaints has been that the costumes of the actual gang were SO bad…but it appears CF might have been listening to our complaints! Rachel & company posted a picture of them over on Facebook with Linus at Carowinds…and I was VERY pleasantly surprised with Linus’ new look. Notice how much nicer the new Linus is. His head is rounder, he has a nicer smile…plus the eyes are smaller…not creepy at all! I also like that his body is now more childlike…we don’t see as much of his legs, which makes him appear shorter…and the shoes are a lot bigger. I am hoping that all of the gang got the same makeover. Nice job Cedar Fair!!!!
  22. By the way Railrider...this thread is for OPINIONS...don't try and cloud those opinions with FACTS!
  23. Plus, I don't remember the channel...but someone just had a 24 hour marathon of Looney Tunes a few months ago.
  24. Would I pick Spongebob over Charlie Brown or Lucy to hang out with...that answer would be yes in a heartbeat. Sure he can be annoying sometimes...but look at all his postives. He has a heart of gold...he would do anything for anyone...plus he's a hard worker. With all of those good qualities I could overlook that annoying laugh! (Now, if you asked me to choose between Charlie Brown & Squidward that would be tough.)
