I was there...she was thorough, really thorough...I felt violated.

WARNING:Peanuts Bashing Alert That's something that I have found funny in the past but have never bothered to mention. I have read on here several times about how they think that it is good that Nick is leaving because a lot of the characters are not "good for the kids"...they are to inane and stupid. (First off let me remind everyone, I do like The Peanuts a LOT...I just don't think they are still current enough for the kids.) Have you ever stepped back and examined the personalities of the "main" Peanuts characters? I have found that if they were real people I personally would not like to hang out with too many of them. Here is what I mean: Charlie Brown...could you really hang out with such a depressing person, he seems to just love to share his gloom. (Sadly, according to a recent biography of Charles Schultz he was pretty much Charlie Brown.) Lucy...she is pushy, self-centered & vain...and as Alluna pointed out, she threatens violence quite often. Snoopy...may have a fun personality...but it seems like it is only if he is doing what HE wants...not Charlie Brown. Violet...is never kind to Charlie Brown...she seems to believe in "clicks". Pig-pen...sure the dirts funny...but could you stand his smell? (And by the way, is Pig-pen his given name...is he only living up to it...or are the kids so cruel that they all feel at ease giving him that nickname?) Frieda...is way too vain. Peppermint Patty...I am on the fence with...she seems nice...but REALLY pushy. SO, the only redeeming characters (in my opinion) are Linus (my favorite), Schroeder, Sally, Marcy & Franklin. Not good odds. Hows this for hijacking a thread?!

^Every man has his breaking point...and I think we found Gator's! I hope I have not offended you TOO much with my constant Peanuts' bashing. If you prefer, in the future I can add "WARNING: Peanuts Bashing Alert" to the beginning of some of my posts if it saves you any future heartache!

They're doing a great job getting their customers familiar with the new characters. They're tackling the issue of character relevancy head on. I think the point CedarPointer was making was that that quote doesn't quite match the 5@5 answer for a similar question a few days ago! For the record, I find Mr. Scheid's statement to be more honest...but of course everyone here knows that I am biased against Snoopy coming.

I think it is commercial...but in a good way. I think if you make learning fun the kids do learn easier. This is an odd statement since both Dora & Diego are basically learning shows. Does it count as religious if Snoopy keeps saying "For God's sake...don't you kids even know who I am?!!"

The situation is even worse than I thought!

You talking to me?! I have been keeping up on the photos...and my grudge is still holding firm. Like I have said in the past, in doesn't matter how nice of a job they do with Planet Snoopy it is still built on an outdated cartoon. (But yes, I will give them that they are doing a good job with the material they are working with. )

^Thanks again again! (I wonder if that website you linked to will wonder why so much traffic all of a sudden.)

Thanks for sharing this...this is the type of stuff I like to read.

What are you talking about?!! This thread is just like watching a favorite re-run on TV...i'm enjoying it just as much as I did the first time...all those years ago! (Quit trying to throw cold water on our fun. )

Believe me I know this fact ALL too well. My nephew wanted to ride Thornberrys pre-season...he wanted to do it so bad I couldn't say no...so I was the one that took that "stupid" elephant's water all on my back so that I could keep him dry. It was freezing cold...but he was happy.

kjkjkj, I mean this in the nicest/sincerest way...I truly wish that I was still as optimistic as you are.
-
I love it...lately you have been posting things that I have been thinking...and I don't have to take any heat for being "cranky".
-
I disagree with this. I think SOME people ride them because of how the ride feels...unlike a coaster it is not on a track and each ride can change by the way the "log" tilts and bounces around. This I will give you 100%!

Getting Kids Excited for Planet Snoopy... Ideas?
standbyme replied to alluna's topic in Kings Island
http://www.bizjourna...ner_or_not.html Ah yes...if I close my eyes I can just visualize what that MIGHT look like... (And just so there is no doubt, yes, the photo has been "photoshopped".) -
I don't know if bitter is quite acurate...but the person certainly is defensive about the subject!

Completely the opposite...I am sure that years from now she will always remember those times very fondly.

I think some of us just keep voicing our complaints in hopes that the event could go back to more of what it started out as...and if that happens all of the people who like it NOW can "not go if they don't like it"!

I know you are just joking...but that's one thing I find about Scooby, you don't have to brainwash/force kids to watch him...they love him from the get-go. -

Not that it helps...but my plan is to just keep telling them "Don't worry, nothing lasts forever...don't worry, nothing lasts forever." -
A Disney breakfast with the characters this is not...unless it changed drastically last year. My family and I did it the previous year...and once was enough...unfortunately. First off, the characters do not come to your table...you go to them in a designated area. My family went when it was fairly new...so maybe it has improved...but when we went the food left a lot to be desired...all of it was pretty much cold. The one thing that is always a positive is the view...it is always great to look out at the fountain from that vantage point. If you are a Gold Pass Season Pass holder the park does offer a discount this year...so I guess as long as you set that bar of yours pretty low you might find it worth the money.

Oh..."put up or shut up" eh?! What I would rather see than The Peanuts is this...a land themed to what kids are still exposed to...the things they see in TV commercials! I would like to see cereal characters running around like Tony The Tiger, Captain Crunch, The Trix Rabbit...at least the kids know who THEY are! I would also have rides themed to games...it could be things like Monopoly, Rock em' Sock em' Robots, slinkies...even some video game characters. I think cheesy things like Sea Monkeys would also be good. The other good thing about this idea is I think the cost would be low...or they may be even to charge the companies for the priveledge of being promoted...kind of like Gillette did for Top Gun. Soooo....go ahead and hit me with your best shot...I still think it would be better than The Peanuts. By the way, has anyone seen "The Office" episode where Andy gives Ellie a Valentine's Day card...she looks at and says something like "Oh, isn't that cute, it's a cute little dog and a yellow bird"...he then has to tell her it's Snoopy & Woodstock!
-
I will add that I AM happy that The Great Pumpkin ended up as a ride name!
-
I wish there weren't so many character repeats...why not have Pigpen, Lucy, Marcy, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder? The plus side is I couldn't really be anymore dissapointed than I already am.
-
That WOULD be an awful monopoly....and here I thought it couldn't get any worse than the latest version of Monopoly that was just introduced!
