  1. I'm surprised that you would phrase your question like that knowing how it might be answered.
  2. There are only 4 things that I still remember vividly from my very first trip to Kings Island ever...the site of the fountains & the Eiffel Tower as I entered, riding the Rotor & The Enchanted Voyage (over and over) and walking underneath the vine covered walkway. As a kid I didn't comprehend how they made the plants grow in a tunnel shape. (Which made it even more amazing to me.) That is why whenever I see a tree...or in the case of Cedar Fair lots of trees removed I grieve because landscaping IS a big part of the magic of the park, even from the point of view from a kid. Paul, thanks for the continuing cool photos.
  3. Please tell me you are joking... Yeah he's joking...everyone knows the orange ones are faster. (He's just trying to get a rise out of some people!)
  4. Short fencing, only a chain "gate"...so is that proof that we kids from that era were smarter and more well behaved?! I always think of a George Carlin bit when I notice things like this: "Parents are so fixated on protection these days it's a wonder they ever got pregnant in the first place".
  5. Nice line! (She might read about you on the findadeath forum though.)
  6. When the park first announced the show it was originally scheduled at Timberwolf...then after poor ticket sales it was re-scheduled to this smaller venue. (I won't even mention the messy stage diving accident that happened during this performance.)
  7. ^I like that Racer photo...mostly because just looking at all of the passengers it reminds me of a simpler time...although I am probably just remembering it that way. Nobody could replace Don Knotts.

You beat me to the punch! I will say that Dane's opinions must carry more weight with the park than most of ours...not because he is a mod...but judging by how often he visits this site he probably isn't considered an enthusiast. (Cue snare drum.) (This is why am glad that Robbie is still constantly here.)
  9. This just goes to show you how out of touch some enthusiasts are with reality. You may be entirely correct...but if it is, isn't it that a sad statement.
  10. Paul, as always, thanks for the photos! (I couldn't resist the jab.)
  11. I second it...VERY nice post!
  12. As long as you do as you say I see no problem with making a statement like this...it truly shows the level of your dissatisfaction.
  13. Same here...although I am guessing that most of the kids are asking who is Avery Schreiber!
  14. I couldn't agree more...watching the facial expressions of the kids on this ride is truly priceless!
  15. But on the flip side of the coin...as I mentioned my nephew suddenly got sick while we were at Chef Mickeys. He threw-up in his bowl. Because it did smell, I immediately picked up the bowl and found our waitress to let her know what had happened. I was surprised that she didn't take the bowl from me. She had me follow her into the kitchen and told me to dump in in the garbage...then she took the bowl from me! It did not upset me but it did surprise me that that is how she handled the situation.
  16. I have missed Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal since day one of it's removal...even at it's peak TRTR was a weak replacement. Paul, thanks for all of the interesting shots that you keep coming up with.
  17. And I had forgotten those strollers!
  18. I think that statement ranks right up there with "Houston we have a problem" as one of the biggest understatements of all time! I am looking forward to seeing what you dig up.
  19. Kind of like this: (I think about this scenerio in life every now and then when I see something bad happen.)
  20. Well, since I didn't get the job done this year...my resolution is to finally get all of my photographs organized chronologically and put into photo albums. I live for the day when I don't have any photos is totes!
  21. WOW! That is some nice scenery. (Your last photo is incredible!) I am so jealous of the things that you have seen on this trip.
  22. Thanks for the update...once again nice photos. It would be so cool to see seals just swimming around! It's weird...when I see them in a zoo I think "Oh look, a seal"...but if I saw one out in the ocean I would be thinking "OH WOW! Look, it's a seal!" (Go figure.) Thanks again...and have a Merry Christmas!
  23. Good luck to everyone here!
  24. RailRider, thanks for posting the old photograph of the fallen tree. (I had never seen it.) Before you posted it I thought I could grasp how huge it actually was...but after seeing all of those men and their horses standing on it I realize I was WAY off! You should Photoshop Spock saving Captain Kirk on the mountain in this photo & see if anyone notices.
  25. PREMiERdrum...sorry I missed that line...but don't worry, I still like a lot of your other pictures! (The Kodiak bear one for example.) Thanks again for sharing.
