well I believe its fair, after all we got Firehawk, and if GL is going to be truley a waterpark, then the other salvagable rides should be shipped to other parks as KI isn't the only park in the whole chain, just saying can't help but be a little jealous! But its hard to complain about Firehawk as its one hell of a coaster. Honestly Firehawk, Vortex and Son of Beast are now my top 3!

Did Cedar Fair purchase GL just to knock out the competition? I find it odd they are shipping out all their coasters. I have to admit I'm a little jealous of KD because well I WANTED IT! but thats ok I guess since we got Firehawk. So how come X-flight was rethemed but dominator stays unchanged?

yeah when I rode in the back last august it felt like someone was hitting me on the head with a baseball bat the whole ride. I put my arms down and just prayed for the ride to be over. But it still doesn't change the fact the SOB is one of my favorite rides in the park

Well compare Vampire to Greased Lightning... Kind of the same idea but much lamer. Vampire wasn't all that great but why replace it with an 30 year old coaster thats much less intense? I like the boomarang in fact faceoff/Invertigo is nearly the same coaster except inverted, and honestly its pretty much a must-ride ride when I go to KI. First time I went to Kentucky Kingdom I rode Vampire 3 times! It was really cool back then because I had never been on a coaster like that before

you gotta ride the SOB towards the front. The back sucks! I mean its redicolous beating. I rode the SOB 5 times when I went last august, and I tried the very back one and well I'll never try that again. The Front, however ain't too bad, not really bad at all. I do wish there was a way they could make the ride a bit more smoother.

I just got on youtube and watched the Final Destination Roller Coaster clip. Honestly it doesn't freak me out at all, because it just can't plain happen. For one, ever been on a looping roller coaster that long? And 2 your going to tell me like 2 billion tons of steel is just going to come apart and unravel from one digital camera falling on the track? and 3 why would the harnesses just spontaneously come up? Yeah theres nothing to be afraid of here. if someone drops a camera on The Vortex its going to break the camera. Thats about it. I might send the idea into "mythbusters" to see if a digital camera can destory a roller coaster

I disagree. Neither of those have a stool that goes right up in your groin! I've only rode TR:TR one time, but I don't remember it being comfortable, and I've never found Firehawk or Face Off uncomfortable either. Never rode delerium and I don't think I can even fit on Runaway Reptar so I can't say

Honestly I don't really care I think if we have a standup again. Like someone else said, they are very uncomfortable on the groin region!

I apologize I should of used the "stupid Highschooler" thing. Some of them were annoying, most of them were fine. It wasn't a big deal, I think I was just more mad that the park was flooded with guests for the opening day and most of them happen to be "highschoolers". I do have one friend who is pretty young, he just turned 21 this year, and when I met him he was only 19, and pretty much straight out of high school. I don't hate all "highschoolers", just the idiots they find for us at lowes. Honestly I regret my first post in the thread. I kinda ripped apart Kings Island and the whole message board during my rampage. It as a bad day, and honestly the problems actually caused by Kings Island itself were minor compared to some of the other factors. All and all it was just a bad trip, and i kind of just needed to let it out. We all kind of agreed afterwards that if the weather would of been nicer, for instance, the day would of been a LOT better. I was dressed in shorts, and a t-shirt, and the cold wind and rain kinda made me naturally miserable and irritable, so when jackie couldn't fit the rides, that just made me that much more angry. Under normal circumstances I probably wouldn't of yelled on the 'tex but it was just a bad day. And I pretty much did the smart thing by leaving shortly therafter, before I ended up getting my season pass revoked.

Not necissarily rap, but maybe some rap... ie top 40. I see nothing wrong with having a top 40 station. Six Flags plays top 40 music. My friend said he rode vertical velocity hearing "faint" by linken park playing. Would that be so bad? Honestly the station probably wouldn't bother me if I didn't have to hear the exact same music 5 nights a week. Its not just lowes, but wendys, Old Country Buffet, Denny's and well now Cedar Fair park all have the EXACT same Muzak station. I swear it must just cost a $1/month or something because its so cheap. Lowes switched their station to a Top 40 station for 2 weeks in 2005, it was SO much better than Paul McCartney/steeley dan fest... and then they switched it back. BTW why not just have no music?

yeah the time to go is always on a weekday. I wouldn't dare even think about going a Saturday. We usually bring our lunches, I still can't figure out why we decided to eat at the park anyway... oh yeah thats right. We had intended on going to Wings buffet for dinner, and skipping lunch. We ended up going to the Festhaus for lunch because her brother wouldn't stop whining. That really irritated me. We got to the park at 11:30 and he immediatly starts crying for food... I'm sorry but my attitude for KI is you can eat when you leave. I'm a trooper typically, when I start riding coasters I don't want to stop for food. So I was really getting irritated with him. Last year we went to Wings after waiting in line for Firehawk for an hour and a half only for the ride to break down. It was hot, we were sweaty and hungry, so we went to Wings Buffet. I still say thats the best deal in the park! I mean no it was no Old Country Buffet, but being $15 for all you can eat park food, it was the best deal in the park!

Vampire wasn't that intense I agree, and it was kind of short, but it was fun, and it gave the park a more "complete" feel. Regardless I'd really like to know when in the hell Six flags ever plans on putting a new coaster in Kentucky Kingdom! It just seemed like the park started with so much potential, and then it just haulted when Six flags took over. I think I do remember seeing pieces of the Cobra track in '05 when I went to KI. The ride has been scrapped now I believe to make room for Firehawk. It sucks that King Cobra's gone, it really does, but Its still nostalgia for me that I miss, not necissarily the ride. Its just like the same reasons that I ride Adventure Express and Top Gun everytime I go. I think they both suck, but I hit 'em up to make a "complete KI experience" lol.

Thank You! So I guess yeah it wasn't horrible yesturday as far as waits go but honestly my last 4 visits I went to the park when it was so dead everything was a walk on. Went on a sunday in october of '05, went late last June on a semi-rainy day, then me and jackie had a little mini-honeymoon and spent 2 days at the park in august, when it happened to be the absoloute hottest days of the summer, and as a result the park was dead. Last time the only thing that had a wait was Firehawk and it was only a 1/2 hour. Everything else was walk on, but the KI employees still wouldn't let us ride again without having us walk through the line. I actually hit up Son of Beast 5 times in one day! So I'm not really used to having to wait at all now. And I'm hoping to hit up boomerang bay when I go back and I'm really wondering how much I'll enjoy that. Next time we are going on the evening of Sunday June 1rst, staying a night at the Great Wolf Lodge, and then I'm hoping to hit up the park at 9a.m. on monday. I really love the Great wolf lodge water park, and best part is its private from public so you don't have to worry about long waits

I like regular Coke over Pepsi. That being said thats about the only thing I really like about Coke. I like wild cherry Pepsi to Cherry Coke, and I LOVE moutain dew! Coke has tried so hard to immitate Moutain dew with Mellow Yellow and Vault but they just can't. Its the only drink of its kind. I'd love to be able to sip on moutain dew while I wait in line for a ride.

Last year they clearanced out all the paramount merchandise and sold it for hellacious deals... I paid $4 to get 4 "Bubba gump shrimp company" glasses, and $20 to get "paramount's Kings Island-opoloy"! I imagined if this is alright than I surely auctioning off the actual theming wouldn't be bad.

BTW my handel is pronounced 'core' - master. No harm done just letting everyone know. Its my real life nickname (my actual name is Cory). I get the CORNmaster thing a lot on other sites. I actually have started spelling it 'Cor-master' on newer message boards just so so people don't get confused.

But what about adjustable restraints? What I don't understand like with the seatbelts on The Vortex and top gun, is why those seatbelts don't stretch, or have an adjusting strap on them or something. BTW Smoking addiction is hard because you are fighting 2 addictions: Mental and Physical. Mentally if things get rough while your trying to quit you crave a ciggerrette. Physically, well me for instance when I go a day without smoking I get real light headed, and I have a hard time focusing, my blood vessels in my eyes feel like they are about to explode... there definitly is a physical withdrawl for me. I wish I had never started this horrid habit

Thats exactly what I've been saying! We waited in line for Firehawk for an hour and a half yesturday only for Jackie to have to walk off when we got to the end. Back with the SOB had its old cars and its loop, my brother waited 2 1/2 hours one time to ride it, only to not be able to fit in the harness once he got up there. I think honestly it would save people a lot of time and frustration if they just put a whole seat w/ saftey harness up front so you could try first before you waste your time! I do remember back when the King Cobra was around they had the a sample harness at the front of the ride

yeah it was one of those days it really was. It started off bad and just got worse. In fact the only good things about our trip was our one ride of SOB (I nearly love that coaster as much as the 'tex) and getting some of KI's trademark blueberry ice cream. Every single attempt to save the day just made things worse. I had some trips to KI that started out rough but I ended up happy. Not this day. In fact I gotta post the irony again. After Jackie got denied her ride on The Vortex and I got off the ride, we headed over to meet up with both our bro's in Nick Universe. We got some blueberry ice cream there, calmed down a bit, caught a breath, and me and my bro smoked a cig, then we decied instead of eating at wings diner for dinner as planned, we'd go back home and eat some higher quality buffet food that didn't cost as much at the Old Country Buffet! We decided though maybe there was still time left, maybe we could save the day, and we decided to head over to the viking ship... and thats where we saw a KI employee standing in front with a garbage can blocking the entrance. I turned to my family members and said " alright, thats our sign from god there. Lets get out of here!" and we took off. I almost laughed at that one. Just the irony of it.
