Actually I think they knew something was wrong with SOB on that day especially since when I was at the park the day before and they kept shutting the ride down

I had ridden TR not long before they shut it down and it was running good just not the themeing

Yeah your right I had forgotten Intamin told them to Shut Drop Zone down.

It sounds like to me they meant to shut down Son of Beast again, Drop Zone, and now Tomb Raider

Ok first off I created this thread for the people who love SOB and want to see it. Also just to have a little fun on this site. Second SOB did indeed crash I know. I also understand a crash of any type is unacceptable. But Sonny never almost killed anyone. Top Thrill Dragester and Superman Tower of Power or whatever it is at SFKK came closer to killing people before SOB did. Also a bad rep can be rebuilt. Sonny isn't damaged for life. The ride is coming back. Just a thought I was having, does anyone know if KI still has the 118 foot tall loop that once was in the Son of Beast?

What can be done to make this ride better than it already is? I personally think they need to take off the mid course brakes or at least not slow it down as much and put the loop back in. Especially since I have heard the ride ops say it now faster than ever why not do this. You can still have the G-Trains and the loop.

Maybe but who doesn't want to go to KI and ride everything they have which this year has been impossible as everyday at least one thing isn't running all day.

Well being that they did say that they could reopen the ride if they wanted to but just wanted to wait I would think that the part was for better operations reasons more than safety reasons

I was at KI last night and noticed that Drop Zone between the times of 7-10 PM had broken two separate times. I'm glad they waited for the part that would make this ride run more effective because who knows how bad of a ride it would be since it hardly works anymore.

I want either Wicked Twister and/or Maverick from Cedar Point

This is my first Trip Report so bear with me Arrive at the park at 7 PM. Went and did Son of Beast about an hour wait only the blue train woke up today it looked like. The line was down both ramps and starting on the 3rd. As I was waiting they operator said the ride reached speeds of 83 MPH. I was shocked that it is faster than it was prior to the accident. Then it was on to Drop Zone. The line was a walk on. I didnt realize how much I missed it till it started up. Great Ride. Then it was about 8:30 so I headed to Firehawk waited there about 35 mins. I like how they have the attendants telling you where to go makes that part of the line less crowded in the station. Got off it about 9:10 or so. Headed over to the Italian Job fun ride at night. Since it was a short wait I thought I'd end this great night on a good note and got a good Beast ride in. I was on the final ride prior to the fireworks shutting down. It was great. There were no lights anywhere except those spotlights. They even turned the 2nd hill tunnel lights back off. It was phenomenal. Watched the fireworks while walking back to the car. Overall great night not croweded. On a side note Tomb Raider was shut down today maybe they are fixing everything inside of it.

I'm going on the 31st and 1st of August and can't wait.

Great news to hear finally Cedar Fair has all the rides running

Couldn't they put a bridge on the road or the path like they did with Son of Beast

I actually think this is wrong of Cedar Fair to be selling Paramount stuff for 50-60% off.

I have been reading over this thread and noticed a lot of people are basing their opinions on how much they like it. Trying being neutral for one moment and answer this question. If they can fix Son of Beast and get it to run regularly without problems will you still want to tear it down for a new ride?

I haven't been on these boards the last few days so reading pages the last 3 pages catching up to where I had left off I read someone said "it ran one train on tuesday". What time of the day were you there? I was there in the evening and did it twice once in each train. So I do think it is shut down for train reasons. But also glad it was back up and running for a little while today.

It wasn't on saturday when I was there for Spirit Song

When I did the Son of Beast on thursday I thought the same as you that The Beast and Racer were rougher.
