  1. i see an overall trend of customer service going down the hole..and i'm not just talking about Cedar Fair or amusement parks - but in all aspects of the...well..."service" industry... before the customer is always right now the customer could be right...possibly... chris
  2. no doubt we'll be nearing the mid-90s...this heating up trend doesn't seem to be something that will end very quickly...especially for the next week or two....

  4. Just checked the forecast and the predicted temperature has went up since I last checked (last week sometime).... (from accuweather.com, updated 8/2/07) High: 93°F RealFeel®: 98°F Partly sunny and hot http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-15day....40&metric=0
  5. thats absolutely RIDICULOUS...luckily, i haven't had any problems (i do have the Ohio parking pass)...(two trips to KI, two trip to CP, one trip to GL)....
  6. oops chris ps..just kidding...we'll be good:D
  7. thanks..yeah i would definitely understand removing the logo from the parks...but maybe keeping the ride names/themes the same, at least for a while....but that's just my opinion, of course...
  8. wow i can't believe how complicated and just plain crazy CF made that transition....especially since SOME people can use their passes for things they didn't even pay for .... i have a question....i got my maxx pass from Cedar Point...does this mean i'm in the joe cool club...or is it just a possibility? lol chris

  10. the article is a subscription only reading, but on Cedar Fair's wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_Fair_Entertainment_Company), the following is quoted from a source/news article: "Cedar Fair did receive both Paramount movie/TV licenses (expires in 10 years) as well as Nickelodeon licenses (expires in 4 years)" Not sure if this is correct because obviously the media can get it wrong...
  11. lol...i remember my first ride on AE (i was about 13 and TERRIFIED of roller coasters)....as we were coming up that final hill i was freaking out because i thought it was going to have a huge drop...haha my dad got a good laugh out of that.....
  12. Which is still attributed to new ownership. And the fact that Six Flags ran the park into the ground and gave it a very sour reputation among tourists and locals and Cedar Fair has done very little to improve that reputation. New at Geauga Lake in 2009: "Purchase a nice lakeside condo here at Geauga Acres right across the lake from Cedar Fair's wildwater Kingdom" just out of curiosity...I've heard almost everybody mention it, but what had Six Flags done that made Geauga Lake so horrible...they invested a whole lot of $$ into it, at least as far as rides go, but obviously they did something wrong... chris
  13. yeah...except they actually play music videos
  14. Haha, that would be very nice...I watch the show quite a bit, and I would be a billionaire by now, lol when i first started investing, i would watch the show, do some "homework", and buy it (usually the next day)....i started getting screwed this way, because of the effect his recommendation has on most stocks....so now, once i decide to buy, i wait at least four or five days for the stock to go back down....then again, Cramer does the weekly "game plan", telling people what to buy and when...oh well....
  15. Can you explain why it's been trading down on higher than avg volume for the last four days? i don't monitor FUN b/c i'm not an investor...but GENERALLY...people will see a stock in the news ("Cedar Fair looking for buyer") and do one of two things: buy a lot or sell a lot...after the article, people were buying like crazy...then, some investors began thinking...wait , maybe that wasn't such a hot idea, and then start selling all their shares.... this stuff happens all the time...if you watch stocks that financial shows talk about, especially shows like cramer's "mad money" on CNBC, the next day after he mentions the stock, it usually goes up several percentage points, but then a few days later levels back down to where it should be... chris
  16. the water park is included in the price of regular admission...
  17. while i mostly agree with everything else you have said...let me add that stocks almost always go up when an acquisition may be in play..even if it's a rumor! it has nothing to do wit a lack of "endorsement of current management" - just an even better, bigger company making the purchase!
  18. My girlfriend and I will probably be going...I've been "lurking" around the forum for a little while now (since the start of this season), finally decided to register today....... I look forward to meeting everyone... Thanks, Chris Holderfield
