while i think it is ridiculous either way, i wouldn't be so upset about it even if the quality was HALF as good as that at applebee's, o'charleys, etc....but a cold cheeseburger and cold, soggy fries for $9 is freakin' ridiculous...which is why i only buy a snack (elephant ear, pretzel, etc.) at the park and instead pack a lunch and eat in the parking lot....

yeah deerhunter is taking over JacksonPKI's position, apparently...

i'm the complete opposite...I LOVE FOF...yeah, it's a little jerky at times, but the ride itself is smooth...SOB is major jerky and rough, which limits it to about 1 ride every 2-3 trips....

The Gold pass perks are finally up!

I was sort of excited about the "meal deals", but the pretty much SUCK in my case..because usually its just me and my girlfriend....all the meal deals are for 4 people.... -
Actually the King Cobra's cars are currently in the storage area located by Firehawk. They keep other things back there to like the old SOB trains and those gaustler(sorry for spelling) trains. Also some Halloween Haunt props. They must have been moved somewhat recently because they were still stored in FOF during last year's KICentral event...

I really don't understand why it's acceptable to use EBITDA... -
Any seat of any train is enjoyable! Even with the old trains! You're version of enjoyable must be different from mine I've only rode SOB in the front seat and twice in the middle...it's a very intense ride either way, but the middle of it was ridiculous...my back hurt so bad... i love riding it in the front though!

What was your first "big kid" ride you went on at KI?

LOL yeah The Beastie scared the crap out of me when I was younger...my uncle always had to "kindly persuade" me to get on........i didn't start riding The Racer or The Beast until i was 13-14....now i'll ride just about anything... -
Don't worry...I think that's what the person writing it thought too!
-
The "second only to Son of Beast" part is incorrect, since The Beast is longer than Son of Beast...

Doing things the Cedar Fair way

The Sandusky Register is VERY GOOD a not getting the facts and not quoting correctly, there are some local politicians who won't even speak to the Register anymore because of mis-quoting in the past. Because politicians are so skilled at getting facts correct and being so ethical. That's what they said in the Register! -
Early ride time is only on specified dates. As of today, no dates have been specified. Chris

I was very happy to see the camera moved...The placement of it before never made any sense to me...last year was the first time i've ridden SOB...and when i saw the camera flash i was like "WTH?"...since most rides take it when the ride is exciting, going fast, etc, not as your going up a freakin' lift hill!

You mean to tell me that The Crypt was closed today for any other reason other than to ruin my day?

I put some space between them:) Thanks a lot! I'm fairly new at photography, and I'm still getting used to my camera...this is really only my 2nd or 3rd time taking "real" pictures (other than quick shots of family and friends).....Canon Powershot a720! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed! Hopefully they get that taken care of ASAP...i've never ridden on The Beast and heard that before...i was actually kinda worried until I heard the other two trains do the same thing

There is a Gold Pass parking lot which is located across from the handicap parking. That one is for gold passholders only. The one you parked in which is "preferred" parking. It's closer to the front gate. That one is an upcharge. ooo....oops! lol well it was nice while it lasted LOL...

Where I bought my cup i'm pretty sure it said refills- $1.99! also, i have a KI plat. pass...I paid $5 extra to get into the preferred lot...was the correct? From what i had understood, it was included as a "gold pass perk"...

I'm really tired so I'm going to make this somewhat short...but hopefully the photos will supplement...I had an awesome time - it was very busy, but I wasn't all that surprised...I was the first car in the preferred parking lot, and I actually felt kinda lazy...lol... The day got off to a rough start, with Invertigo and Son of Beast not running, but on opening day I somewhat expect that kind of thing...they both opened later on during the day (not sure exactly what time because I didn't wait for them)... Food prices were not of concern, since I packed our lunches/dinner in the car ...I did buy a funnel cake (we usually buy one "snack" item) and a souvenir cup (we usually buy at least one drink per visit, and this will make it a little less expensive in the long run). MOST ride attendants were polite and friendly...there were a couple who were not, but again, that's to be expected I guess... Drop Tower was first (walk on)...nothing really special to report on that...Flight Deck was next (20-30 minute wait)...it took me a minute or two to figure out what was missing (ie. giant billboard)...I love this ride, and a trip to the park wouldn't be complete without it... Viking Fury...was ok (walk on) I don't know if it got better as the day went on, but at around 11:30 or so when I got on The Racer 35-40 minute wait), it was taking them about 5 minutes to dispatch each train...which is far longer than it should take, in my opinion...but at least they were racing! Adventure Express (15 minute wait) was a lot of fun... at this point we went to lunch (around 12:30pm), and saw the line extending almost all the to the end of the preferred parking area for season pass processing...surprisingly though, the line moved rather rapidly... after lunch (we took a little longer because it was raining, we waited until it was just sprinkling at around 1:30pm), we went to the Eiffel Tower, and I took a couple of pictures of some rides and the construction site....It's the first time I've been up in a couple years, and realized I really missed it...I think it's going to be something I do every trip now Flight of Fear was great (35-40 minute wait)....then SOB and Invertigo, since they had opened since the last time we were in that section of the park....Invertigo we waited about 30 minutes or so, SOB about 1 hour...We took a break from rides for a little bit and I took photos of the park and more photos of the construction site and the footings around the Crypt... the last ride of the day for me was The Beast...i'm not sure why, but the trains were squeaking loudly on the tracks...it was really bad in the tunnels...but it was a great ride nonetheless.... I was going to ride Vortex but it had gotten stuck going up the hill, and I was tired and didn't feel like waiting. PHOTOS coming soon...

What I want to know is who told you it was dead on opening day? LOL...i just got back...Trip report and photos to follow...
-
Yes, you will still be able to redeem your VIP jacket...Remember, lines are going to be LONG tomorrow, especially for season pass processing! Be early - or prepared to wait thank u very much how early do u think i shld get there??? Well, this is my first opening day so I may not be the best person to answer.. But from what I've been told from people on here, the earlier the better....I plan on arriving around 9am...i believe the parking booths open around 9:15... Chris
