So with all indications we have at this time (footings in "Swan Lake", footing by antique photo store), isn't this pretty much in line with rumors that started last year?
-
Why? And what about the footing in the walkway EDIT: Browntggrr beat me to it

Say what you will about Cedar Fair, but after seeing photos on KICentral and the news stories the past couple of days, the park looks better than it's looked in several years....I'm really excited about this season- the park looks great and I'm looking forward to watching the construction site...No matter your opinion on The Racer - which I didn't really mind because I the recaR always caused pain in my lower back - Cedar Fair is making some really good changes with the park...

I'm gonna have to disagree with this statement. I constantly saw times when Top Gun had a 30+ minute wait last season. Maybe this wasn't typical, but everytime I rode Top Gun, this was the case. WOW...Everytime I went to ride Top Gun (Flight Deck), I had maybe a five minute wait...at one point, i rode it SIX TIMES in a row without any wait, and the ride operators were nice enough to let me and my party continue riding without going back through the line (well, the path made for a line)...

I like The Racer's new logo...and the construction site? WOW....i'm not into construction, so i'm not really sure...is there anything else it could be other than a coaster?
-
i misplaced mine too although i'm not too worried about it, as it was my fault and it wasn't a big deal in the first place...i'll probably find it in a month or two... (i put it SOMEWHERE so i wouldn't lose it, but i forget where SOMEWHERE is!)

SIX Now On Penny Stock Lists

YOU'RE RIGHT...lol...i had it backwards...yeah that was ridiculous...actually at one point they were announcing to keep everything on board and i went across anyways to drop my stuff off at the side...had a couple of looks but that was one of the dumbest things i've ever experienced at KI... -
Platinum pass is the best deal in my opinion...i go to KI and CP 5-6 times a year...and plan to visit KD once...

Didn't CF try to do this last season? I definitely remember it at KI for the first few visits...but i can't remember about CP.... -
(my turn) Chris, who just HAD to...
-
i actually LOVE SOB in the front seat...after reading/hearing recommendations that it was the only way to ride it....i rode it in the middle once and it hurt......
-
who's Toche?

Yes, lines will be shorter on opening day. They always are. Most of the rides are all walk-ons. I also predict that the weather will be sunny and 75. Don't worry about parking either, since the attendence is down, there will not be any hold-ups at the parking booths. Same goes for season pass processing. The first day is never busy, so don't expect a wait for processing. Wow..maybe it's too early...but that's all i can say...LOL

SIX Now On Penny Stock Lists

Exactly, I just don't see their theory panning out the way they're claiming it's going to. I think they're grasping at straws...(at least they don't charge for those yet....) -
Which ride will you go to first when Kings Island re-opens?
cholderfield replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
The Beast will definitely be first...then Vortex....and then continue making my way toward Action Zone... -
SIX Now On Penny Stock Lists
cholderfield replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow...a stock that was near $40 back in 1998...down to near $20 in 2002...now at $1.61....kinda depressing...i just don't know if I see this stock going up...especially with the government (not just "experts" but the government) saying gas prices are going to top $4 this summer and the economic slowdown *recession*...sorry but i think this is going to be a bad (if not bad, it's not going to be a "good") year for FUN, let alone SIX... -
Yeah, I have to agree with you on that...I also went mid-to-late July and could not believe how "dead" it was - as far as attendance goes, it was like KI on a cold, cloudy, rainy day.....SEVERAL rides were only running with one train, and waits were still only about 15-20 minutes on those rides...and like DarkBeast stated, Dominator had hardly any line whatsoever - I rode in the front seat 3-4 times in a row, only waiting 5-10 minutes in line each time (mainly because I wanted to ride in the front, the rest was basically a walk on)... I love the feeling of this ride and I'm glad its being reconstructed in a park that I'm visiting (for the first time) this year! Chris
-
yeah i think it would be safe to assume opening day is NOT a "select" day, since no dates have been announced yet....i thought maybe i missed something but theInterpreter brought me back to reality
-
i don't know if i'd go that far...of course, that's your opinion...but if i could only go to one park out of CP, KI, or GL...GL would not be a contender...even if the ride side was open... and GL may have been a competitor, but not much...maybe in the sense that kmart is a competitor of wal-mart...
-
i MAY be there...still deciding...
-
Thanks for the overview, Shaggy! I've heard some bits and pieces of what you wrote, but that was the first "big picture" look I had at it....I'm 21 years old right now...i went to GL when I was about 10, so before Six Flags bought it....I don't really remember too much about it...other than my family usually went to KI but decided to go to GL because it was different and not as crowded.....i *believe* i went to sea world at the time when Six Flags had purchased GL but had not yet purchased Sea World and combined the two....the only reason i remember that is because my dad was disappointed because they had new roller coasters....
-
I wasn't really interested into amusement parks when Six Flags owned Geauga Lake (aka Six Flags Worlds of Adventure). Why did it fail so miserably? Did it get any better when CF purchased the park (apparently, not good enough!)?
-
The only bad thing (well not really bad...) is that at GL I rode it about 4-5 times in a row, waiting in line maybe 5 minutes each time - usually for the front, once in the back, once in the middle.........i'm sure KD will be a little busier - especially with a "new" ride
-
I'm going to Kings Dominion in July when I go on vacation. I've never been there before, and now that my favorite ride from GL is there it should be a great time!
