What I don't understand is why we lost all of our theming, yet the outdoor "The Crypt" at Kings Dominion still has all (or most) of its theming intact...

AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!
cholderfield replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
lol i was thinking the same thing as i read this topic...wondering to myself if they would enforce this as well as the other policies you mentioned -
Man exposes himself at Carowinds
cholderfield replied to RollerNut's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
btw...as far as smoking restrictions go, if i understand it correctly, the law only governs indoor facilities, not outdoor (amusement parks)...so the "smoking in designated areas" is a park policy, not a law...although i do agree that it should be enforced more than it is.... -
and also, ticket prices online are now $29.99....

Don't worry, you'll find out soon! but not quite as soon as some

AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!
cholderfield replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
i think it was mentioned before (maybe not in this topic), but just to clarify, Kings Dominion has a similar promotion going on right now, only for $4 instead of $6.99 - either way, not a bad deal! -

I was at Kings Dominion a week or so ago, and was surprised to see that their outdoor "Crypt" still has most of the themeing - including geysers and fire!.....

If you read the confirmation email, it tells you how you can get multiple eligible entries by visiting different guides....one big mistake though, those links don't point you to the website address to link your visit to your email...for example, one link is : http://www.vacationfun.com/ebrochures/Warr...=646&email= it should read: http://www.vacationfun.com/ebrochures/Warr...&email=your email address here but with every "iBrochure" you visit, you get another entry...

Summerfair at Coney Island, May 30th- June 1st
cholderfield replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Coney Island Central
I was there on saturday (first visit to Coney)...i was impressed - a fun park, very peaceful.....i probably saw you, my girlfriend and i rode the ferris wheel twice in a row (we were the only ones on the first cycle; the second cycle a lot of little kids got on and screamed every time they got to the top).... i can verify that most of the stuff at the vendor booths was very expensive, at least in my opinion - but there was some really cool stuff....i might have to visit the park sometime later in the season when more than half the park is open...i was disappointed at first because our visit was unplanned, so i was not aware that Summerfair was going on (saw the signs when i arrived, but still had no idea half the park was closed) and the only way I found out was AFTER i paid for tickets, i saw a sign with the list of closed rides....not complaining though; free parking and discounted ride tickets pretty much evened out with the cost of Summerfair.... -
The only ride I can think of that is closed at Cedar Point (not a roller coaster, though) is MaxAir, which is similar to Kings Island's Delirium...at Kings Island, the only ride that is down (again, not a roller coaster) occasionally is The Crypt, but I guess it's gotten more reliable over the past couple of weeks... They are the same just height are different between maXair and Delirium. Which is why I said they are "similar"... ... I wouldn't really consider Wildcat a major ride (I had actually forgot about it being closed) - its a fun ride, but when I enter CP I don't think "Hey let's go hit wildcat first!".... regarding Maxair....it's kinda ridiculous it's down considering this happened halfway through the 2007 season...hopefully it will be up again soon!

At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)

It is a well known fact that the "middle class" is closing in...at least that's what i was taught during my last year of american gov't a couple of years ago... -
The prices only went up a nickel (or so), so that people could continue buying season's passes without hurting their pocketbooks too much...

Cedar Point 2008
cholderfield replied to indianapolisman's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thanks for the info I was wandering about the perks. When I got my CP E-ticket processed at KI they told me I probably wouldn't get the perks at the other CF parks. With the platinum pass, you should receive "perks" at every CF park... -

I think she had mentioned she was skipping breakfast to save up to pay for a trip to CP? See, Kinzel does know what he's talking about - I think she said she's saving up for a season's pass... -
Cedar Point 2008

You're missing out on a lot. I love both parks for very different reasons. The overall atmosphere of KI is great, and yes, it has some good rides...I like CP for the constant thrills... Aside from CP, you're missing a lot of other parks too....you can still be loyal to your "home" park and visit other parks... EDIT: I'm planning a visit for this coming Sunday, weather permitting... -
I'm beginning to see a pattern... Somebody who doesn't know when to shut it? Who doesn't think before he posts? Who can't take a hint?
-
it couldn't have been much more, since food prices only increased a nickel or so from last season, as Kinzel has stated....

Anyone else think this is Jackson pretending to be Larry the Cable Guy? I'll second that...

PKIDelirium...I see you live in Xenia. I live in Jamestown. I was in Xenia today when the "tornado" was in New Jasper! Dude, Xenia is just about the last place you want to be during a tornado warning. I lived in Xenia during the 2000 tornado..watched it go by from my living room window. In 2000 I was 13 and I remember our youth group went down to Xenia to aide in clean up efforts....
