  1. I was there until about 12:30 today, got in right at 9 and headed for Invertigo (one ride- thats enough for me)...then back to Diamondback for three rides (one in the back, one in the front, one in the fourth row). Then I went over to Planet Snoopy and rode Flying Ace Aerial Race. After that I waited for the rest of the park to open. I went straight to The Beast and saw signs stating that Travel Channel was recording, apparently they wrapped up a minute before I got there and the ride was temporarily closed while they dismounted cameras. I waited about 10-15 minutes. 5 minute wait on Backlot Stunt Coaster. After I got off of that (about 10:30), they started testing Vortex. Passed and rode Flight of Fear (15 minute wait), The Racer (15 minute wait), Adventure Express (10 minute wait), and Delirium (25 minute wait). I was going to eat at the new burrito shack but I was running short on time, I'm hoping for another trip in the next week or so. Prior to this season, my intent on every visit was to stay from open to close (which I still don't really mind), but with a season pass and just over an hour drive, I think it will be more enjoyable with shorter trips, especially if my wife comes along (she loves the park, but she isn't into staying for 12 hours or running from ride to ride). Beautiful weather, all staff encountered were friendly and helpful. The park is beautiful, I love all the new pavers and International Street looks great.
  2. I'm hoping so, I'm pretty sure I'll be making my first trip of the season tomorrow Latest forecast from NWS shows low 80s and mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms after 5pm.
  3. Rode it at Kings Island yesterday, only had to wait one ride cycle. The park wasn't very busy, I'm sure the heat had something to do with it! It was a fun ride, not "thrilling" so much, but it was a nice cool down and interesting perspective of the park. The height did get to me at first, but I really enjoyed it.
  4. While I understand attendance has continued to decline at KI since the mid-to-late 90's, maybe somebody should take a look and figure out why that's happening...
  5. Fairly new update on the ride status from The Toledo Blade... http://toledoblade.c...INESS03/6080397
  6. I was kind of surprised to read how much Kinzel made last year, salary and bonus...I guess he didn't lose his cash distribution? http://toledoblade.com/article/20100608/BUSINESS03/6080393/-1/BUSINESS
  7. I'll be visiting Wednesday and I will take your advice. I've been visiting the park since I was a kid so maybe Coney Mall just doesn't stand out to me as much because I've grown accustomed to the way it looks. But I remember how "Paramount Story" looked and that is what truly disappoints me.
  8. I've only had it from a can...and always ice cold
  9. I know I've probably stated it in other topics, but in my opinion, that area is the biggest eyesore of the park. Imagine the thoughts of the average park guest walking back there...
  10. A little bit off topic, but I actually enjoy Coke Zero- mainly because it tastes A LOT better than Diet Coke, in my humble opinion
  11. I was actually looking forward to it because they made it sound like an improvement over last year's pizza. I should have known, especially since they're giving bigger slices away this year.
  12. Yeah, I noticed that as well...It's okay though! This will be the first season in three or four that I haven't purchased a CF Season Pass (Maxx Pass/Platinum Pass), only planning one trip to both Kings Island and Cedar Point. When I had the Platinum Pass, I was less likely to eat in the park since I went so frequently. But now with only one visit to each park this year, I'm planning on eating inside the park! Back to the topic at hand...great TR! I keep reading all of these reports and can't hardly wait to go to either Kings Island or Cedar Point!!!
  13. I'm pretty sure there's another topic floating around here that stated it was a technical issue. Last I heard, fireworks are still planned for everyday that the park closes at 10pm.
  14. For me, WWC can vary between a few drops and soaking - it just depends on where you're at when the boat passes under waterfalls, gets splashed, etc. I've come off of the ride completely dry, rode it again and was drenched.
  15. it's going to be packed - but i'm sure you'll have a good time regardless!
  16. I guess that makes sense, I wasn't thinking about everybody still being in school...It just stinks that someone would have to walk to three of four different locations to find out they're closed. But I agree - rides are the priority, because I'll probably just bring a cooler with lunch in it instead of paying a few extra nickels for the park's food.
  17. Glad it was a pleasant trip overall! That's....ummm...interesting....about all those restaurants being closed - I know the park isn't really too busy this time of the year, but how are they going to nickel and dime people if they're closed?
  18. Yeah, I got a ticket a few years back driving through ...well, I don't even know the name of the (town? village?), I just remember being on a country road for what felt like forever, and was going 63MPH in a 55MPH zone - first speeding ticket! Finally took the 71 to 250 route, much faster and less stressful...
  19. It is also interesting that they didn't set a date this time...Perhaps they didn't want to miss a third date?
  20. And as far as I know, STR isn't really the first of its kind, either. Based on what the park has said, the delays have stemmed from the boats not fitting properly on the track...A ridiculous mistake when you think of all the planning that goes into the rides!
  21. Bad news for those visit the park this weekend... From the official Cedar Point Facebook page...: "Cedar Point has an official update on Shoot the Rapids. The ride will not open this weekend as planned. Our preopening procedures are taking longer than expected, but we anticipate it will open soon. We apologize for the delay, and we'll let you know as soon as it's open." http://www.facebook.com/cedarpoint It kind of sucks that they waited until the last minute to announce it. Hopefully it's because they were trying to get everything done in time but didn't quite get it...
  22. I wouldn't even mind Tower Gardens being a designated smoking area if it wasn't such an eyesore - why has the park let this little section of the park become so dramatically...blah?
