They are starting now because it takes several months, I think 90 days, to cure concrete to strenghthen it.

Flying eagles would be a GREAT addition to the area!!!!
-
Everything in the Zone but Congo Falls is a ride where either the car or your feet dangle...sounds like a theme....

I hope it is an invert similar to Montu. It dives through tunnels and trenches. In our case it could dive through crypts and race through the woods or perhaps a graveyard scene.
-
Ignore the lift hill on the left of the Montu image. It appears that the track will be turning left from the station on the new attraction, not right as in Montu.
-
The coaster is an inverted coaster called Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa. There are pictures on the Roller Coaster Data Base (rcdb). Search by Montu.

for your comparson.

Ya think?

I was thinking that too, thecrypt. Also, it may not be related, but several trees near the covered entrance to Adventure Express, left of the queue line have been cut down, and when you look to your left as you get to that part you can see the flags where footings are being dug behind slingshot. This ride may either go over AE or as we are thinking, AE may be removed....I hope it remains.
-
I had to laugh while riding Adventure Express....the whole train twisted their heads to look at the construction as we flew past.....
-
Its the first tunnel as you leave the station. The trees in the wedge between there and the former gocarts area.

This is great! If only some of the water park attractions would remain open......I've always hoped the waterpark would stay open later....pasty white people burn so easily, and night swimming is my thing.... My guess is the waves will not be operating....LOL that could be funny trying to watch a movie and control an inner tube.

A couple of weeks ago it looked like grass seed and hay had been blown over nearly all of SOBs footprint from the opposite side of the valley onward.... That being said....I went to the park this evening (no camera/still charging) grass is growing, but it looks like a little bit of activity is going on in a small portion of the rose bowl area. It almost looks like three or four footings/footers. This attraction may be going into the valley and following the old SOB treeline to a turn around at the bottom edge of the rose bowl. Also the trees behind the tunnel on Adventure Express have been cut down and hauled away, leaving a wide open space. Rode Adventure Express and the trench that was going down into the valley has been smoothed over. (only saw it for a split second). More survey flags but nothing going further than the hillside, from what I could see. Hope someone with a telephoto lens can get some good pictures.

Thank you jasondropzone.....some people take this stuff waaaaaaaay too seriously!

Sorry to confuse you guys with my posts. I was only speculating about possible themes for the ride/giga-hyper-inverted-dive machine by posting news stories about evil screaming phenomena.

http://www.livepterosaur.com/LP_Blog/archives/4768 Strange Winged Creature in Ohio March 1st, 2013 at 12:33 Honesty Credibility Yesterday I spoke by phone to a man who seemed quite credible to me. In fact we had two phone conversations, and I found nothing in the manner of his speech, or in what he said, that gave any hint of any hoax: I believe him. But the long hand-written letter I had just received from him—that’s the best evidence for his honesty. Let’s consider parts of it. (I did a little editing to correct English errors.) Encounter With a Winged Creature in Ashland My name is James M. Boice/Jim. I was looking [probably online searching] for a flying creature that is nocturnal, hoping maybe someone reported it. . . . I saw your article on pterodactyl. I’ll tell you ahead of time: I didn’t see it. But you should hear me out anyway. I got out of the U.S.M.C. in 1977 . . . lived several places in Ashland, Ohio, and I’d say around the early 80′s I was living on Ohio Street in Ashland. . . . I lived [in] the second house on the left on Ohio St., by the railroad tracks off Cottage Street. It was at night. My wife was on the couch in the living room. I was sitting in the dining room reading . . . she had fallen asleep. . . . I heard a sound outside, like screaming. I heard . . . as if a cord cutting through the air, also the sound of a dog fighting with a cat, all these sounds at once. I stood up and tried to look out the window but it was dark out and I couldn’t see . . . the sound stopped and I didn’t have lights out back. So then I sat back down but not for long . . . it started again. This time it made click clock sounds and loud banging, as it seemed to climb up the side of my house. I stood up while hearing this again and listened. It went up two stories then up on the tin roof, which was approximately a 45 degree angle. Pounded very loud in fact. . . . It then started down the way it had come up. When it got to the ground, it was right [off] the window in front of me and started to go left slowly and occasionally [would] bump the side of the house hard. As it reached the tree out back, it started to make flapping sounds, as if flying very slowly, and you could hear the sounds of its wings, shh, shh, around one flap every three seconds. . . . I shut the door so it wouldn’t get in. It flew towards the front of the house, then to the left, then to the right, then across the tracks. Then I opened the door and listened. I thought, at the time, it had a bat-like sound. . . . I think it was trying to carry my dog away. It was a medium-sized dog . . . the next day, . . . [the dog] didn’t appear to be harmed. [Getting back to the sounds of that night] While I was out in the backyard, I looked at the back of the house where I believe it was, and there were no scratches on the house but there was one [on] the [two] antennas. I think it went up that. It [the antenna] had zig zag metal pieces in it. . . . [the creature] probably had claws on its front wings, as without them it would have to fly while climbing. . . . I checked all kinds of birds, owls, etc, and they don’t fit . . . [they don't have claws on their wings]. . . . [Much more was written in the letter by Mr. Boice.] It’s hard to imagine any person trying to make a convincing hoax by sending me many pages of hand-written descriptions like the above account. It’s easier to believe that he heard the sounds that he said that he heard—much easier. That’s what I call ” high honesty credibility.” As is often the case, however, high honesty credibility may coincide with a higher potential for misidentification. Although it seems unlikely that any classified bird was involved in this encounter in Ashland, Ohio, we have no sighting or clear evidence that the creature involved was a species of pterosaur. It may have been some other kind of winged cryptid. . . . still . . . Near Ashland, Ohio

Scream Baffles Ohio Town Posted on Sunday, August 21 - 2005 An unusual and noisy mystery has people in a small town north of Middletown on edge, worried and asking questions, News 5’s Brain Hamrick reported.Liberty, Ohio, is a quiet little community, except for one thing -- the scream. Jamie Young told Hamrick she heard it while she and her husband were walking one evening. “It scared me. I didn’t want to finish my walk,” Young said. But instead of running into her house, she said she recorded the noise and sent a tape to the local newspaper. With a sensitive microphone and some special ghost-hunting goggles, Hamrick went hunting for the haunting sounds, traipsing boldly into the most likely spots -- from a graveyard to an old church where flea market dealer Walt Wilson sells some truly frightening things. But he’s not worried. “I don’t think it’s going to wind up grabbing any of us and running off with us,” Wilsonsaid. Residents have no shortage of ideas about what’s making the sound, from cats to owls to something even scarier. Townspeople said they called in an animal expert, who told them the noise didn’t come from an animal. So for now, the scream remains a mystery.

My guess based on some of the footings.

Cedar Point Ride Watch
upstop replied to HWBeast1039's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Disney has solved that problem....their app ride times are entered by the ride ops using a card that is carried by a customer through the line to the ride op at the ride platform. Using several customers they get a pretty good average of the wait time. It worked well when I was last there. In fact you can see the ride wait times at all the parks right now.....It also tells you where rides are located and their approximate distance. Right now the Haunted Mansion is .....900 miles south of my location....with a wait time of 0 minutes (park is closed). -
I thought that it was similar to a Kroger or Regal Cinema card where you could see that you have X number of points and would know that if you accumulate a certain number, you would be rewarded... But que sera......

Thanks for the Econ 101 supply and demand lesson, but that still doesn't explain the initial $21 dollars (which is way more than last years rate), except that the price was thrown at a wall as a starting point and with a captive audience of customers, alot of people will pay because they have no other choice but to pay. In the end the higher locker price may have an effect on purchases. I too travel light with a very limited amount of cash only.....so purchasing of souvenirs usually doesn't occur. I buy what is necessary such as sunglasses (if I destroy or lose a pair etc.) I dropped out of using lockers pre-Paramount, but most definitely won't be "leasing" a locker for the day.

Oh...so it's total dollars of a purchase? How can you tell if you are getting credit for your purchases and how much do you have to purchase to move up? I'll check the site but I don't think it mentions when the levels move up. Unfortunately, I'm not going to make purchases blindly in order to see "if " I level up. ******As a note. Just checked the website and it doesn't mention a "spend this much.....get this many points". I could be spending way more than the value of any the rewards......bummer.
