Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
upstop replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Based on my train ride today (yes...broke down and got a pass this morning) what I saw was.... Fallen trees. Lots of them and most were randomly cut down. I could see no specific pattern just stumps everywhere hither and yonder. Lots of little pink flags... Mostly wrapped around random tree trunks and branches in guessing they are marked to be cut down... Very few stakes.... However, once the train crossed the bridge, there were three, maybe four pink flags there. On the return trip just as we were rounding the bend past the ghost town, just past the storage house on the right, there are several more pink flags. Going back into the station, there was a single stake flag on the left of the train.... And the train announcer said "by the way, watch out for falling trees." It's going to be an interesting summer for sure. Ediited for clarification: the flags after the train bridge were actually just after you cross the WWC tunnel that goes under the train... On the right 3 maybe 4 flags. On the other side they were after the storage building near the WWC loading platform. I have no idea if it's for the same project or for some WWC lovin. -

Maybe we're getting our own version of Timber Mountain Log ride? Or maybe it will become an expansion area that is logging camp themed with several adult rides. There is more land there than you think.... Anyways... New attraction! Yay! -

The trees in the image are falling away from each other like something is pushing itself out of the ground. And the large tree has kind of a Sasquatch looking profile in my opinion. -
Could be prepping for fresh blacktop or possibly pavers.... Or just cleaning. Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.
-
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it looks like the black top is being busted out in front of Beast Arcade
-
You won't be bummed out after you get into the park!
-
Since it's a 13 lane toll, I highly doubt there would be issues unless they're like Walmart and only have 2 lanes open. Had to chuckle. I was picturing some senior in a blue vest leaning on a grocery cart saying "Welcome to Kings Island" every time a gate raises... TB, got a Photoshop for that? Lol!
-
Maybe those raising arms will only operate when the gate is being used as a scan only gate... Assuming the scan only gates can be randomly changed...And that the other gates will remain up during regular hours. I don't believe I've been to any other amusement park with a raising arm gate system. To me they could slow down the processIng of guests. Also gates malfunction. That could be a mess in the making.
-
I'm wondering what will happen if you are in the "wrong" lane.... Logic says that you should be able to go through any line to process for parking. I hope that this is the case and that people won't try to cross 12 lanes of traffic at the last second to get to the gate that they assume they MUST be in and cause an accident.

It's near Great Wolf Lodge. Now you will pass the park coming from the south and turn right just past the old north entrance, past a new entry plaza sign and continue to circle past the graveyard to the new toll plaza. From here you will be facing south from the north lot.

Kind of looks like a Disney'World / Disneyland entrance. Very nice!
-
and the plot thickens....
-
It could be anything. Since its Rivertown... Why not a hybrid maybe an RMC coaster involving water in some way. Just a thought. Or maybe even a dark ride ( non shoot me up preferred ). I'd even take a cool collection of flat rides. Maybe a water ride of some sort. Or better yet a new area encompassing all three!

Looks like the fence is going up around the construction zone. It almost looks like it includes the lockers location as well. I wonder what kind of mysterious paranormal surveillance is going to occur in Rivertown?
-
Ain't that the truth. Seems like the future of Universal is to become Simulation Land.
-
Lol! Could be! That's thinking out of the box... Tehehe
-
Now it looks like fence posts have been set for a privacy fence..... Hmmmm.... I'm intrigued now.
-
Not sure what you are seeing? The footer or the fence foundation?? To me it looks like the foundation for the beginning of a structure..... And it might even be nothing at all but I found it interesting that the snow covered the borders forming a visible demarcation line that can't normally be seen.
-
Ugh! Glad it's there and not where I am... We missed that mess. So I guess for today it can be called the Snow Beast? Also...
-
Beautiful! It kind of reminds me of a fancy steak buffet.
-
Could be a mirage but it would be fun if they did theme a little.

I'm just wondering what other improvements in theming lie beyond the bridge. It kind of looks like the wooden fence has been replaced with the same "graveyard" fence that's around Banshee. Could there be more tombstones and such on the other side? Now I'm Kind of interested in finding out.
