  1. Yum yum.... a powdered sugar covered sponge full of vegetable oil.
  2. ^^ I like that idea and take it one step further. The area that is currently fenced off at the back could have a barbecue restaurant with seating throughout the woods overlooking the ride. They could maybe play that twangy bluegrass music and have a small outdoor stage for a quartet of musicians. Maybe even a game. Food, fun and atmosphere... Good theming... Right?
  3. I saw a similar soccer game where the goalie randomly rolled back and forth in front of the net and the motion wasn't nearly as radical as the video. I think the video might have been a demonstration of how accurate the technology can be and they were using a professional player to prove their point. I'm guessing the average kicker would never defeat that version of the game. Surely KI will have a less aggressive version otherwise players would turn away immediately knowing that that have no chance of winning.
  4. After watching the video, I'm going to plunk down five dollars to have a computer automated goalie consistently block kicks.... Right...
  5. I guess Greg let The Bat out of cage with that tweet.
  6. Idk. Definitely not a referb. It looks as if they took out all of the infrastructure and even some of the concrete. I'm betting on a possible new structure and a new pathway to WWC.
  7. At one time there was talk of searching the world for classic rides. There is plenty of space beyond the tracks for several classic rides... Some day. Maybe a Big Wheel.
  8. Also looks like the ramp from WWC is gone too. Perhaps there are plans for a direct route across the railroad tracks.... Or better yet... Signs of the beginning of a 2017 attraction!
  9. I remember waiting to ride the flume and as i recall there were only a few boats. At one point they entered a tunnel before going up the final drop. While we were waiting we noticed that none of the boats had returned, and the crowd started looking around. Then we saw a couple of linebacker sized guys and a tiny woman come wading out of the tunnel. Apparently the waterfall inside the tunnel plus all of the dipping into the rapids filled the boat until it sank.
  10. It was the poor mans alternative to KI. At the time it was open, Coney Island was slowly returning from transitioning to KI.
  11. I believe that several rides also ended up at Coney Island as well. I believe the Roc-o-Planes and Tempest, and several kiddie rides came from there.
  12. I think the biggest thing is getting over the "no rides" issue. Can't we enjoy the park for its beauty? Kings Island lit up in shimmering lights with ice skating and a majestic sound track should be enough for a Christmas party. Surrounded by a few shows and delicious food... I'm game... And a couple of rides open is an added bonus. Besides only coaster enthusiasts would be upset by not being able to ride a coaster.
  13. Why not use an electric street car system for inter park transportation...Cincinnati's was installed in the blink of an eye.... At several million or so every 200 feet.
  14. It's nice to visit there once, but it is vastly over rated. When I look statistically at what i desire and what i need... I'd rather have a car, home and family than to visit a silly amusement park once for the "experience". Yes I went there last year... For the last time. I enjoyed myself but I'd rather spend/save my money for other tangible items for myself, my family and others. It's a business... A corporation making money. As far as I'm concerned, Disney and Universal can keep their money, I've spent my last dollars there.
  15. Ok... I'm not 6000 yrs old either...
  16. Asphalt... Stone.... Millions of years old... Tehehehe
  17. Idk.... I think I might have been a wee lad when that was installed at Coney Island....
  18. OMG .... I'm older than everything except the Carousel... And the asphalt parking lot.
  19. Truthfully.... I think Kinzel had his eyes on the park regardless of WinterFest... And I think he was going for broke, literally. By the way does anyone else remember the CBS/Paramount survey about who we would rather see buy the park? Any idea What was that all about?
  20. Hmmm.... Look at the dollars that were missed this season. Viva la Festval of Lights.... And Beach Mountain... And Sharon Woods... Dollywood... Numerous Six Flags Parks... Oh and Disney....
  21. The only way I see that the VR "helmet" will stay safe from disengagement is for it to be connected to the headrest like an electric chair's helmet... Also as someone stated some will get ill... if someone is getting ill from mothion sickness, can the helmet be taken off or will the rider have to vomit throughout the ride wearing the thing? Either way, I'm not paying extra for that... But that is just me, I know others will line up to toss over cash to do it.
  22. With all this being virtual, why can't I rent a headset and ride all of the rides all year from home?
